Home Sweet Home

Weekend at Grandmas!

The good old "Town Days"... Growing up in a small town was so much fun! It has its pros & cons but I loved it. Some of the perks of a small town is that every body knows everybody. This could be a bad thing because everyone was usually in everyones business but now that i look back on it, it was pretty cool. Where else could you pull into any gas station, have them pump your gas for you, meanwhile your in the store stashing up on penny candy & powdered doughnuts and with out telling them your name you walk back to your car and drive away. Same with the Drug Store & Movie Store... Just put it on my tab! I feel like now days I have to take proof of i.d. along with my member card just to rent a movie.....Don't these people know who I am!!! Not that i am someone special or anything....but now days i am more like a number on a piece of plastic.
During the Summer nights my Dad played on a baseball league and it was so much fun to meet up with my friends at the games. We had our water weenies, (i was 8yrs. or so) our foot long licorice ropes and our fun dips and i was set.
The majority of my summer days where spent on the lake. As i got older my brother and i would take the boat out with our friends and once he left to college, my girl friends and i would take it out ourselves. Then there was big hole where we would cliff jump and after the sun went down we would have bon fires on the beach.
I had my 10 year High School Reunion while we were there, so i guess it brought back a ton of fun memories. It was good to see old friends and what they were up to.
Anyways, on Aberdeen Days the whole town literally gathers in the park for breakfast where there is pancakes, sausage, eggs, bacon, hash browns...the whole shabang. Then you can walk the side walk sales on main street until the parade starts. Then in the evening there is the fish fry and then the melodrama at the school complete (with all the booing, hissing & applauding).
My family usually spent most of this day on the lake and it was no different going home this time. We all loaded up on the boat and had a perfect evening on the lake. The water couldn't have been better! It was a perfect day!

I love taking Amberly on the boat because she gets so nervous and doesn't move. She cuddles the whole time.

Pancake Picnic in the Park - thats pretty much the whole town!

End of year - School Program

Sadie has just finished her 1st year of preschool. She has gone to a wonderful school and made lots of friends. Some of her closest friends from our neighborhood went to the same school as Sadie and we have had a fun time car pooling with them.
(Annies in the Blue, Madie was on Vacation and Emmas in a different class.)
Sadie sang very good and we are so PROUD of her. She has learned a lot this year and worked very hard on her Letters an Numbers.

Dance Recital - June 2008

Our Mersadies had her 1st dance recital and in her words she did "Awesome!" I was a little nervous for her and her little friends because at practice they were goofying off and not really doing the dance at all but they did really good once they got on stage. At times they were more concerned about standing on "the star" that is there to mark their spot, so they were looking down alot, but she was so darn cute and we are very proud of her.

Sadie is on the far left.
Before she went on stage she kept pulling her belt up around her chest and i of course kept pulling it down. As she was going on stage she obviously enrolled her friend to pull her belt up also. Hence the two with the silver bras. :)
