Hoodie

I'm back with my second card for MFT's World Card-making Day's challenges.  This time the challenge is to not use stamps or inks - only dies.

To make this as easy as possible, I looked through my dies for those that could hold up a card on their own and came across the Zipper die that I bought when it was retiring and hadn't ever used.

Yes, don't look too closely at this card or you'll see that the zipper isn't straight down the card front.  Doh!  By the time I realised, I was too far through the card - another one of those mojo-less times I was referring to in my last post!

Anywas, I made the card using some soft grey cardstock as the base, a white tee under the hoodie using a stitched circle die, silver foil paper for the zipper and star hanging off it, and some striped patterned paper for the hoodie fabric.

The die-cut sentiment is stacked three high and spritzed with Glitter Spray before being adhered to the card.

I'm going to link this up to Crazy 4 Challenges, who are looking for a card and Southern Girls Challenge who are looking for stripes.

Thanks for visiting!

Happy Day

Hi and welcome to the reminder post for The Flower Challenge, where this month you get to CASE one of the DT cards.  So, for the design team's reminder post cards, we had to CASE our first cards.  This time, I used green inks for my stenciling and black die-cuts for my images rather than silhouette stamping.  I kept the same basic layout and bold sentiment, though.

The stencil I used was one I cut myself using my Silhouette (back when I had one that actually worked, that is!)  I just cut the stencil from white card and I've probably used it 4-5 times and it's still going strong.  I sponged ink in an ombre fashion up the left hand side of the panel, after using some torn paper as a mask for the right hand side.

The flowers were die-cut from black cardstock and the sentiment was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink.

I die-cut the panel with a wonky stitched rectangle die and popped it up with craft foam onto a white card base.  To finish the card, I added some Nuvo Jewel Drops in Key Lime.

Thanks for visiting.  This is my last post as a DT member of The Flower Challenge.  Being on 5 DTs, including running one, has proven a bit too much, so I'm stepping down from a couple.  I wish Aileen and the girls at The Flower Challenge the best of luck and I'll be sure to play along as time permits.

I'm linking this card to the challenge at Crazy 4 Challenges - where they're looking for green in our cards this week.

Doggy Love

So, I made this card on the weekend, but I missed the deadline for one of the challenges I made it for because I forgot to blog it!  Luckily, there are lots of fun challenges out there at the moment looking for love or pet themes so I'm adding this card to those challenges at the bottom of my post.

I dry-embossed my card base using two rectangle dies and then did some ink-smooshing with Hickory Smoke distress ink.  The cute little dog was colored with Copics and I added Glossy Accents to the red heart and his nose.  The sentiment is white-embossed onto black and die-cut with a flag die before being adhered to the card base.  The dog is popped up on foam tape.

And that's my card!  I've been enjoying making Valentine's cards this year - although here in New Zealand we don't tend to give them to anyone other than our significant other and my boys will scoff if I give them one because they're "too old" for "lovey-dovey cr@p".  But maybe, just maybe, I'll give them all to Pete next Tuesday, because who says that one is enough 😃

These are the challenges I'm linking to (click on the graphic to be taken to the challenge):
