Puppy Thanks

Hi!  It's my turn to design the sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches and here's the card I made with it:

This card was made for my daughter to give to our vets who facilitated the open-heart surgery on her puppy.  I coloured the pup to look as much like Altezza as I could and used a colour combo from Colour Cubes.

Thanks so much for visiting.  The rest of the design team have made some fabulous cards so I hope you'll check then out.

Products used:

Stamps:  You Are Pawsome (SSS), I Just Miss You Puppy (Gerda Steiner)
Ink:  Amalgam (Gina K.), Versamark
Cardstock:  White, Indigo (Spellbinders), Amarena Cherry (MFT), X-Press It
Dies:  Paw Prints (MFT)
Accessories:  Copics, White Embossing Powder

Singing Trio

Hi and welcome to another sketch from the team at Freshly Made Sketches where this week our hostess is Judy Rozema.  Here's the card I made with her great sketch:

I am trying to take a leaf out of Jen, my fellow teamie's, book and keep up with making Christmas cards throughout the year.  January and February I have absolutely no interest in making another Christmas card, but come March I need to get back into it.  I thought the circles in the sketch would work for these cute carolling kittens so set to work Copic-colouring them and cutting them out with my Scan n Cut.

I hot-foiled a sentiment with gold foil and went to work on setting the scene.  I wanted to keep my card CAS, so only stamped some pavement for them to "stand" on - which also worked fabulously with the sketch.  Finally, I added my kittens with some foam tape and called it done.

Thanks so much for visiting!  Please check out the fabulous cards made by the design team.

I'm linking this up to the Christmas challenge at Krafty Chicks and the Anything Goes Christmas Challenge at Happy Little Stampers.

Products used:

Stamps:  Carol Kitten (Gerda Steiner), On The Ground (SSS)
Ink:  Amalgam (Gina K), Twilight (Catherine Pooler)

Just Miss You

Hi and welcome to the latest challenge at Freshly Made Sketches where this week our hostess is Jen Brum.

This post goes live on the second anniversary of my son's passing (in my timezone it's midnight the following morning, but close enough).  The last two years have been the hardest of my life and while I am starting the slow journey of healing, I will never be the same person again.  In the blink of an eye, our family was changed forever, so hug your kids - no matter their age - and tell them you love them as often as you can.  I am so very grateful for the 21 years I had with my Matthew and I know he's still around - just in a different form.

Onto the card.  I made this for Matthew 💕  I coloured up the wee dog to look a bit like our Dexter.  I chose the patterned paper before colouring his bed to match.  I did use a microfibre cloth and some colourless blender to give a fabric pattern to the bed before cutting it with my Scan n Cut.

I embossed the card base with a lumber 3D embossing folder for some added texture and white-embossed the sentiment.  Both the sentiment and the patterned paper were die-cut with stitched dies.

I moved my dog down the panel a bit from the sketch so he wasn't floating in mid-air but hopefully you can still see the sketch.

Thanks so much for visiting.  The design team have created wonderful cards as usual so I hope you'll check them out,

All the Hos

It's the last Fusion challenge of the year and we're going out in cuteness!  I played with the sketch but did bring in elements from the photo as well.

I bought this adorable stamp set to hopefully inspire me to make some Christmas cards.  I stamped all four images in the set, colored them with Copics and fussy-cut them out.

Onto a white card base, I added two strips of red cardstock top and bottom and in the middle the gold-embossed background stamp which was stamped onto cream cardstock.  In between the various pieces I added a thin strip of gold foil cardstock.

The sentiment was die-cut 9 times and each word was stacked three high before being adhered to the card front.  I added the little dog with foam tape and coloured all the red elements of the image with clear sparkle pen.  I finished the card with some Nuvo crystal drops.

Thanks for visiting.  I do hope you'll play along and go visit the challenge blog to see the wonderful cards made by the rest of the design team.

Weird Llama

Welcome to Freshly Made Sketch day!  This week Jen Brum is our hostess and she has a wonderful sketch for us.

Once again, as soon as I saw the sketch, I envisaged my card with the two grey panels as a cover plate with a sentiment strip through them.  And, of course, I couldn't get that image out of my head so I had to go with it.  For the circular element, I used a fun NBUS set called Llama Tell You.

That llama just cracks me up.  I'm not sure who I would give this card to, I mean, there are so many worthy people in my life 😏  I had fun coloring this cute image and once I was finished, I fussy cut him out and then added Glossy Accents to his eyes before setting him aside to dry.  The rest of the card is fairly self-explanatory.  The cover plate is by Neat & Tangled and I used a Desert Storm card base as a change from my usual white.  Here's a close up of that llama:
