Wonderful week-end!

I am back again! A little bit tired, but full of impressions!
It has been a wonderful week-end with lots of inspiration, colours, laughter, chatting............. You know!
Finally it was my turn to meet Leanne Beasley! We arrived just in time for the "sit and stitch with Leanne" class on friday afternoon. We all got a bag with pattern , fabrics and thread, and then got started.
This is what it's going to be. A beautiful red and white stitchery. As you can see, I didn't get too much done on mine!! Too busy talking, looking, shopping......, yes, shopping! There were two quilt shops there, Quiltegaarden and Lille stasjon. They had a lot of beautiful fabrics to sell!
Anita and Leanne are talking about all the different stitches she has used in this stitchery. After the class, she held her "trunkshow", where she was talking about her quilts, how she got started with quilting and designing quilts. Far away in this pic you can see her first BOM, Leannes House. It was so fun to see her quilts for real, not only on photos! And touch them, yes, we were allowed to touch as much as we wanted! This is a part of her second BOM "Journey of a quilter", also a beautiful quilt. She was talking a lot about the importance of labeling your quilt. In this way you remember, and familymembers to come, also will know more about you and your quilts. On one of her quilts she had put, I think it was, up to ten labels! All of them beautifully stitched!Butterfly Garden (Sommerfugl hagen), her newest BOM! We all have followed her on her blog, in the process of creating this quilt. It really is a beauty! When you got closer to the quilt, you would discover small stitcheries like this!Another detail from the quilt. This is a part of Ruth's quilt from her first book "Living the dream". Sorry that the photo isn't too good! After she was finished, there was "show and tell". Here is Anita, my good friend, showing her version of Ruth's quilt. It is beautiful! This is my version on her Chocolate-quilt from her last book, "Romancing the road trip". (I was allowed by May Britt to copy the photo from her blog, thank you!) Love this quilt! Great colours! The "Waverley bag" was on the program for saturday. She gave us some tips before we started on making our own bag.Interested ladies learning how to do needle-turn appliqué. It was very useful to me, I got some aha's!
Anita is getting a helping hand with picking threads for the stitcheries on her bag. Marica from Sweden working on her bag. It is so amazing with all the ladies joining the class, and where they came from. There were three ladies from Sweden, and one of them had been driving 900 km, one way! to get there! Some ladies from Tromsø, some from Sandnessjøen, also up north in Norway! Many ladies from around Oslo, and the two of us from the southern part of Norway. And other places in our very looooong country!Anne Ida (Quiltoholic) is enoying the stitching! It was so nice to finally meet her after reading her blog and getting e-mails and comments! She is a very sweet person! Leanne talking about her "Flowers and Flutterbuy's " quilt. This is a quilt I would like to make. Leanne busy with drawing a personal block for someone. Poor Leanne, she was drawing and writing so much that her hand and arm was getting sore! All this to please us ladies! It is so fun to see how different we are in our colour options, and they all look so great!
This is mine. I love it! I think I have a little left! I am a slow sewer, and joining a class, I get even slower!! It was so great to eat and sleep at the same place as the classes were given! This is a photo "borrowed" from May Britt ( I asked her!) After dinner we went back to the "classroom" to continue on the sewing and stitching! And enjoy some chatting and laughing, and some wine! The toughest ones sat up until 2 o'clock in the morning!! From the left you see Laila, May Britt, (it was so nice also to meet her after all this blogging!), me, Anita and Anne Ida.

The week-end has been amazing! Leanne is such a sweet person. She is giving and giving of her self! I guess she must be really tired! I hope she and her husband will have a safe trip home. Many thanks to Siw from Quiltegaarden and Bente from Lille stasjon for creating this event!

Teaching a class

I think I told you in a previous post that I was teaching a class. Well, now we are done! We have spend two tuesday nights together at Kreativ Quilt, making this! They had two options of what they could make. Either a tablerunner or a toilet-bag. I showed you the toilet-bag in a previous post. We used the block from this pattern by Jan Mullen. I made this tablerunner for myself. As you can see it is not finished yet, but it will be! It is so fun to see the results from a class like this. We all have the same starting point, and the results are so different! A beautiful tablerunner in red and white with a little hint of gold for christmas
A great runner in beautiful fall colors!
Oop, lost some beads on the floor! They seems to be hiding everywhere! White stars or snowcrystals on a blue background. Very cool and "winterly"! Beautiful!
Potholders for christmas.

The front of a new toilet bag. Great colours!
Another toilet bag under construction!
Happy ladies with their finished and almost finished projects! They look great!
Tablerunners! They need some quilting and binding and then they are finished.
It is fun to teach a class, and a lot of work! I guess a lot of you ladies out there know that! I haven't done this for a long, long time, so it was like a new experience! A good one! And the ladies were nice to me! Thank you , ladies!
By the way, the "lady" at the very left in the photo, hmhm yes, happends to be me! Oh no, erase me , please!
