Spring!?!

Are you waiting for the spring? I am! I am longing for more colours outside. To see the hills coloured in different shades of green! It is so beautiful to see the trees dressed in their very new and bright green coloured veil. And they are all so different!
One of my favourite flowers for spring, are tulips. That's why I had to put tulips on my spring tablerunner I made few years ago! Haven't used it the last couple of years, but gave it a new chance this week-end, because I needed to see some fresh colours! When I designed this tablerunner, I thought I had measured well enough, but I realized it would be shorter than it was meant to be. This I found out after I put the binding on! I had to think quick, because I wanted it to be done before our guests for easter arrived! So I made two small coffee-placemats and attached them to the runner with small hooks. I am quite pleased with it!
Have a nice day!

Happy Easter to you all!

Nothing new to show you this time either! Sorry! But I will show you this tablecloth I made a couple of years ago. (Again!)
The colours are very bold, I know, but I often like to work with rich colours. I made crazy flying geese (paper-foundation), but I think they went too crazy, because I cut off too many points! LOL! Anyway, I like it, and it's now on my dining-table for easter.
I also had to make placemats as well. Here I didn't get too crazy with the points, and I must admit it looks better!
And to the next point... let me introduce you to Mr and Mrs Eggie and their little eggsies! They come to visit every easter. It is nice to have them around, but things can get a little bit noisy sometimes...
Like when the little eggsies are getting a little naughty and are playing hide and seek (when they shouldn't)...

...need no words, I quess...

HAPPY EASTER TO YOU ALL!

Take care until next time!

PIF and some finishes

Pay it forward update:
I now have three great ladies, who have signed up for the PIF, and want's to play along!
If you want to play, and send someone a handmade surprice, please just jump over to one of them, and join!

I saw this sign on May Britt's blog today, and found that may be I was one of the first to leave a comment on this post, so I thought, why not play along! And so I did! I've seen PIF's on other blogs, but never early enough to sign up, until now!

So this is how it goes...

It’s the Pay It Forward Exchange. It’s based of the concept of the movie “Pay it Forward” where acts or deeds of kindness are done without expecting something in return, just passing it on, with hope that the recipients of the acts of kindness are passed on. You all know I’m already a PIF type of person. So here’s how it works. I will make and send a handmade gift to the first 3 people who leave a comment to this post on my blog requesting to join this PIF exchange. I do not know what that gift will be yet, and it won’t be sent this month, probably not next month, but it will be sent (within 6 months) and that’s a promise! What YOU have to do in return, then, is pay it forward by making the same promise on your blog.

Then to a couple of finishes. I made this tablerunner for the class I was teaching in october. I finally got the binding on! It is quite long, nearly 69 inches, and fits my eatingtable perfect. And of course all of you can see that the flowers are red poinsettias?!? LOL!

I had to make another make-up purse, because I forgot to write down all the measurements when I was working on the first one! I never learn! May be this one will become a christmas present. Who knows!

Teaching a class

I think I told you in a previous post that I was teaching a class. Well, now we are done! We have spend two tuesday nights together at Kreativ Quilt, making this! They had two options of what they could make. Either a tablerunner or a toilet-bag. I showed you the toilet-bag in a previous post. We used the block from this pattern by Jan Mullen. I made this tablerunner for myself. As you can see it is not finished yet, but it will be! It is so fun to see the results from a class like this. We all have the same starting point, and the results are so different! A beautiful tablerunner in red and white with a little hint of gold for christmas
A great runner in beautiful fall colors!
Oop, lost some beads on the floor! They seems to be hiding everywhere! White stars or snowcrystals on a blue background. Very cool and "winterly"! Beautiful!
Potholders for christmas.

The front of a new toilet bag. Great colours!
Another toilet bag under construction!
Happy ladies with their finished and almost finished projects! They look great!
Tablerunners! They need some quilting and binding and then they are finished.
It is fun to teach a class, and a lot of work! I guess a lot of you ladies out there know that! I haven't done this for a long, long time, so it was like a new experience! A good one! And the ladies were nice to me! Thank you , ladies!
By the way, the "lady" at the very left in the photo, hmhm yes, happends to be me! Oh no, erase me , please!

Autumn

Now the autumn definetely is here! We had our first autumnstorm last night. Yesterday night I had had to help my father in law to secure our boats, because the wind would be to tough. And I can tell you it was tough, but things went ok!
I usually like the spring the most, but what I do like about the autumn is the long, dark nights when you can have fire in the fireplace and feel the heat when it is cold outside, candles burning( I love candles with spicy fragnance!), read a good book(or a quilting magazine?), do some sewing.....
What I don't like about autumn and winter is that you have to put on so much clothes on both yourself and the kids before you can go out, but that is another story.......! As you can see I've allready been doing a little autumn decorating. I made this set a couple of years ago. Usually I do not use autumn colors, but when I saw some of these fabrics, they were shouting at me; please, make something of us! And so I did! And can you imagine, I love them!
They fit my kitchen perfectly! Pillows, tablerunner, small tablecloths and platemats.
