Our Favorite Grammie and Grandpa!

Just before Christmas, we went to Grammie and Grandpa's to put on a private concert for them.  The kids all played their songs they've been working on and we sang some carols and ate some treats.  It was fun to get together with Grammie and Grandpa- they are so neat and I miss seeing them as often as I did when we lived closer by.  Grammie has had some major health issues and they stayed in St. George for quite a while this year, too.  But, we are so lucky to have them around- Grandpa helped Hyrum with his science fair project and what would we do with out the raspberries, grapes, peaches, etc from the garden?  Grammie was the one to pass her piano skills down to Maama too, who now teaches all the kids.  Besides, I think we got some good looking genes from these two. :)
I took the chance to take a big group shot with all the Smith great-grandkids.  Pretty awesome!

Ani is 3 months!

This tiny girl is 3 months old!  I don't know her exact height and weight because there is no dr app. this month (thank goodness!) but I know she's growing because her 3 month clothes finally fit!  She's also getting some 'inner thigh rolls', as Kristi calls them.  Ani has learned how to 'talk' and babble and coo- it's the cutest thing ever, how to grab things, how to cry MAD if she wants to,  and how to hold her siblings' attention with her smiles.  She loves bath time and being talked to, changing her clothes and holding fingers.  She does not like tummy time or being too tired, or the way Daddy holds her, for some reason.
The poor girl had a good snotty cold for a while but her poop was more of a normal yellow at least.  We're pretty sure she's still allergic to the milk protein so I'm still on a no-dairy diet.  But, she is one good sleeper- not a great napper, but she will sleep all through the night, no prob. Nice!  We love this little babe!

Christmas Times!

We had a pretty laid back Christmas because of this cute little babe- trying to keep away from the germs of the season!
But, it wasn't bad- it was kind of nice to take it easy and not try to hit every party and every event going on around town.  There's lots of years ahead to do that.
One of main problems we had, though, was trying to decide which beautiful Christmas dress Afton should wear every Sunday.  She has so many!

And she looks cute in all of them- Pretty girl!

The Sunday before Christmas (Actually Weston's birthday) Ani and Afton wore their matching dresses from Grandma Largey- I love that Anika's is SO fluffy. She was just a big ball of tulle and satin!

On Christmas Eve we went to Largey's for dinner and a Christmas program.  Afton was Mary and Nicholas was Joseph. I must say, I think they were the cutest ones I've ever seen.  After we finished the Nativity, they continued to stay in character and I could hear them walking around in the other room, knocking on walls saying "What? No room? Oh, okay."  :)

Love Nick's eyes in this...

Of course, we also opened new Christmas jammies, too!  All these snuggly kids on Christmas Eve? I love it!  Anika, slept all through the festivities but when we got home, she woke up and got her jams on too.

The kids were good to let us sleep in until 6am and then we could finally go see our presents- yay!  Zach makes fun of me for being so excited, but I love it!

Anika's first Christmas!
Everyone was blinded by the light... but we opened some great things- I got a bluray player from Zach, he got new pillows and towels, Weston got an Mp3 player, Hyrum got a new coat and basketball, Afton got her 'pink girl computer that works' and Anika got the Little People Princess set.
One of my favorite things we've been doing the last couple years is making all the presents to each other-  Hyrum and Weston made finger puppets for Ani, Weston made a matching game for Afton, Afton made some cool t-shirts with stickers and bleach for the boys, and I helped Ani make matching p.j. bottoms for all the kids.
We showered, dressed, played and ate until 9:30, then we headed to Maama and Pa's to open more awesome presents (Hyrum:air copter, Weston: Easy bake Oven, Afton: Doc McStuffins doctor kits, Anika: high chair, Pyrex pan, gift card-sonic and Outback) and eat brunch (ham, cranberry, avocado, honeymustard sandwiches, mmm.)    We headed home to take naps and then went to Largey's for MORE presents and dinner...We were so blessed this year!

Weston's Birthday: #8

Once upon a time, there was a weird kid- his name was Weston. Everyone thought he was just a little squirt, but that was only because his brother Hyrum was such a big galute.  Turns out, Weston was actually eight years old, 52 inches and 54 pounds.  That's older and taller than more than half of the 2nd graders around. It's the truth!
So, since it was Weston's birthday- not just ANY birthday, but his 8th birthday, he didn't have a big flashy party with big flashy presents but he did pick some fun things to do.  First, (his birthday was on Sunday) on Saturday, Weston and Daddy set off on an adventure by grabbing some Arby's,  riding the Frontrunner train up to Salt Lake, doing some Weston shopping at toy stores and then hitting a McDonalds before coming back home again.  All Weston's ideas.
Then we had the Adam's cousins,
Lauren, Robby and Maama over
for presents
and pumpkin bars (also Weston's plan).
On the birthday morning, he woke up early (but not TOO early, thank goodness) to open more presents...

We ran with the cooking theme Weston has been liking lately what with Master Chef Jr and what not and got him some cooking supplies and a cook book.

He also got some legos.
Weston is the sweetest kid. He is also very sensitive- which can be good or bad depending on the situation.  I love that every time he prays, he says "bless us to be kind" because that is always on his mind, I think.  His big blue eyes can melt any heart- except Hyrum's, who is constantly making Weston squeal.  Weston is super great at school, learning so quickly with piano, the best friend anyone can have and always full of story after story or random imaginings about crazy things that "might" happen... We love this Weston!
