Another Month Almost Over

Another week has come and gone. Not a whole lot went on this last week, just the usual. I spent the day Saturday with my friend My-Linh and her family planning stuff for her up coming wedding. We had a lot of fun. We "introduced" some of her family to Cafe Rio, love that place. Went and took a look around at the Gallivan Center, where the wedding is going to be. Then took a trip out to Tai Pan Trading. It was a fun day.
After church today we headed up to Kamas to take care of the horses and then went out to visit with Grandma and Grandpa. It snowed about 4-5 inches while we where at their house. The roads weren't that great, but I've seen them A LOT worse. We left Aunt Billie Sue's house about 4:45 and headed home. As we came along Highway 40 just about to I-80 there was a sign that said I-80 was closed at Exit 141 - Jeremy Ranch. We got to the Kimball Junction exit and got stopped and had to sit there for about twenty minutes. This was the scene the rest of the way home.
This is how we felt about just kickin' it in the car for so long.

I never went over 45 mph the whole way home. After we sat there it finally started to move, not very fast, but hey some movement is better then none. There was so much traffic, it was three lanes soild as far ahead of us and behind us as we could see. We finally made it home at 7.

I decided to play a little game each week, just for the fun. I'm going to take a random picture each week somewhere in my travels and see if anyone can name the location of the picture. So guess away! I'm pretty sure that at least one person should be able to name the location of this picture.

One last week in February, wow! We have a few things going on this week, so I'm sure it will be over before I know it.

Valentine's and a Birthday

We kept pretty busy this last week. Tuesday we headed up to Kamas to go to John Miles (Uncle Bill's brother) viewing. Mom and Dad got to visit with a lot of people that they haven't seen for a long time, and I got to fool people with how old I am. I think it's pretty funny that I'm 25 and people don't even think I'm 20.
On Wednesday I headed off to work knowing that a storm was coming in, but I was hoping that it would be done before I had to head home from work. When I got back to work from lunch around two it was still sunny, but the wind had started to blow. By the time I got off work at five there was three inches of snow on my car. What is normally a 20 minute drive home took one and a half hours. I was very glad to FINALLY make it home. We got a phone call from Paul that afternoon/early evening that someone had hit his truck. He'd only had his new truck for about two weeks and it got wrecked. He can still drive it but it did a good deal of damage. Once I got home I decided not to leave, so Mom and I made Valentine cookies.

We always make cookies for Valentine's and take them around to our neighbors. I was a little lazy this year though, I usually make cards to go with them and just leave the cookies and the card at the door and ring the door bell and run. Well, this year I got Dad to go with me and we split them up and just took them to the door and told them Happy Valentine's.

Friday Mom and I went up to Laura's for a Pampered Chef party. Stacey has started selling Pampered Chef and Laura was doing a party for her. We of course got us some new stuff and can't wait for it to come and try it out. David and Stacey and their girls came in on Friday and stayed until Monday. It's nice to have them come and be able to spend time with them. We celebrated Stacey's birthday while they were here. We went out to the Parrothead for dinner on Saturday, and then Sunday we had everyone over and ate and then had cake and ice cream.

There were so many candles on the cake that it was close to a fire hazard! Good thing she had all that help blowing out the candles.

Dog Pile! I'm not sure how Brody, Amber and Brooke felt about it.

Emma Jane is using her Dad as a workout machine. Got to keep those abs tight!

I was Lucky enough to get to work today(Pres. Day)! Emma Jane had slept with me Sunday night and when I got up and was getting ready for work Monday she asked me why I had to go to work. She just didn't understand why I couldn't just stay home. Trust me, I would much rather, but unforunately not an option. The weeks seem to keep flying by, only two weeks left of February!

Best of State

Mom got some very exciting news this last week, she found out that she had won the 2007 Best of State award in Education for Support Personnel. How exciting!! We are very proud of her! We just wish that we could have found out and gone to the awards dinner. Mom works very hard at her job and how great it is for her to be recognized! She got this really neat medalion that has the Best of State logo on one side and her name, the year and the award she won engraved on the other side!

The week was pretty slow. Not a WHOLE lot going on, just the usual. It was time to move hay again this weekend. We went up on Saturday and it was such a nice day. I only had on a tee shirt and a sweatshirt and I was just about ready to shed my sweatshirt. There was a whole bunch of snow that we had to move to get to the hay. I certainly got in my workout on Saturday. Paul brought Amber, Brody and Bridger over with him. They had put on their snow clothes so that they could play while we moved the hay. They each made a big snowball to play on.

The boys loved jumping off the gate into the deep snow. They both kept saying we'll do it again, take more pictures.

Bridger did a face plant this time around.

Brody was going for distance. Nice try!

Just to show how deep the snow is...Dad was going to step over behind Brody so I could take a picture and he sunk down in that far and he still wasn't to the ground.

Amber decided that she wanted to turn her snowball into a horse.

As you can see the snow bank is so high you can barely see the gate or the horses over it.

Brody and Bridger came home with us on Saturday night and spent the night. It's fun to have them come and stay over. They are rather entertaining. I also like for them to stay over and go to church with me. They are so good at church, and then I have someone to sit by. I thought they looked so cute so I just had to take a picture.

This is the kind of smiles you get after they have been at church for three hours and then come home and have me take pictures. They think it's much more fun to make silly faces then to smile.

Also, I just want to wish Dave and Stacey a Happy 10th Anniversary tomorrow, February 11th! Wow! That is just crazy, I had to go look and make sure that it really had been ten years! Hope that you have another great year!

February Already!?

It sure was a snowy end to January. I love all the snow that we have been getting. I don't love it so much when I am driving to and from work in it, but none the less I am so glad that we have been getting all the snow that we have, it should make for a good summer.
I guess it was new vehicle month for the Gines family. Paul joined in and got a new Dodge truck. They are all very excited about the the truck. Now everyone keeps asking when I am getting a new vehicle, but that's going to have to wait.

Dad had another birthday on Wednesday the 30th. It was kind of a relaxed day. It was pretty snowy out so we just stayed in and Mom fixed dinner. We had Paul and his family, and Mark and Jessi over on Saturday for a wonderful birthday dinner, apple pie and ice cream fixed by Mom. Dad was pretty sure that we had put the candles backwards on his pie, but Kylie told him that her Dad was 36 so that he couldn't be, so he said fine then how about 39. I still don't think they bought it!

I can hardly believe that January is already over, time sure does fly by. It's funny how the older you get the faster time seems to go. Almost every time I see Brody he askes how much longer until we go to Pocatello. When I tell him a month and a half he just looks at me like that is going to be forever, and for me I think wow that is just right around the corner. Here's to a great February that hopefully won't fly by to fast!
