Sunshine Skyway Bridge at sunrise
The Sunshine Skyway Bridge is the world's largest bridge with a cable stayed main span.
I have added a link about this bridge for those interested.

Fort DeSoto Park to see the birds.
and started into the park, this is what we saw, as we
crossed the first bridge.
We stopped at the end of the bridge and hurried back to the center of the bridge
so I could try and capture the sunrise in time.
The first 3 photos were taken from that bridge.

Before sunrise at Watts Bar - Sky Watch Dec 19
Just waiting for the sun to come up one September morning.
None of us seem to be seeing much color, so pulled this out of the archives to post.
A reminder this dreary look we are seeing right now will not last.

Cades Cove in Smoky Mountains - Sky Watch December 5
All 3 photographs were taken this past Tuesday at the entrance into Cades Cove in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. We had some snow the night before, but not very much.

Falls Colors at Spring City Park - Sky Watch
When I got back to the valley (I guess Spring City is considered in the valley, either way it is not on the plateau) I went by the Spring City Park and took all of these photographs in the park.
We probably still have a few more days of peak before the leaves start dropping fast. Did you notice I said we? How quick I am adjusting to being here.
I was really surprised to see the butterfly in the park. We were told the Monday morning we were gone (vacation) it was 31 degrees. This past Monday morning is was 41. So you would think the days of photographing butterflies would be over until next year. I got excited when I saw the Buckeye, doesn't take much to excite me sometimes.

Fall Migration - Sky Watch October 10
This may appear to be an odd combination. But all 4 photographs were taken standing in the same spot within seconds of each other, this past Monday evening in downtown Knoxville. I just turned around in a circle and snapped what I saw.

Sunrise Watts Bar Lake - Sky Watch - October 3
Since we post Sky Watch Friday is on Thursday in my location I decided to add another post, just one link from Sky Watch though, because that is the rule. This sunrise photograph was taken at Watts Bar Lake from the Spring City, Tennessee side of the lake. Be sure to look at my post before this one, it is the moon during the morning close to this same location. Thank you for visiting, and I appreciate any and all comments.

Moon over East Tennessee - Sky Watch Oct 3
The first moon photograph was taken at 9:40AM, September 19, on a gravel back road in Rhea County, Tennessee. I just came around the bend in the road, and there it was, just asking to be photographed.
As the 2nd time, the moon also just jumped out at me. This one was 6 days later, in the city park in Spring City, Tennessee, also in Rhea County. This one was at 7:42AM, September 25th.

Grand Canyon at Sunrise - Sky Watch Sept 26
Sunrise in the Grand Canyon, September 2007. The most beautiful time in the Canyon.

Not much you can add to this awesome show of God's creations. It was an amazing trip. Everybody seems to like the previous post of sunrise at the Grand Canyon, so I decided to post these too. This are more like normal sunrise photographs, except of course, they are still the Grand Canyon.

Grand Canyon Sunrise Photos- Skywatch Sept 26
Both of these photographs were taken at sunrise in the Grand Canyon, September 2007.
The bottom photograph is my absolute favorite of the whole trip. I just turned around and this man was standing there taking in the awesomeness (is that a word, if not it should be), unaware of anybody around him. A print of this photograph now hangs in my supervisor's office. This photograph has not been touched, this is the way it turned out. The Smoky's turn blue, I guess the Canyon turns brown.

Sky Watch/overlooking Cataloochee Cove - GSMNP
I took these as we left Cataloochee Cove. I posted some last week on Sky Watch Friday from around the same time, the other end of the same parking lot. This is the last of the Cataloochee Cove photos. I hope you have enjoyed the Cades Cove series and the Cataloochee Cove series over the last couple of weeks.
