Anybody interested in joining a book club? My friend Hydee and I want to start a book group that gets together once a month or so. This month we decided to read The Secret Life of Bees. Let me know if you're interested. We would love to have anyone join!

Brag Blog
So I've been doing a little bit of sewing lately and I wanted to show off all the cute things I've made!
Mya has been dominating the solid foods and I seem to always run out of bibs so I decided to make her some with fabric scraps from the quilt I made my mom a couple months ago. I'm so proud of how they turned out!
I have this problem that once I get my sewing machine out I have the hardest time putting it away because I just keep thinking of more and more projects I want to do. After the bibs came these shoes for Mya. They are my first baby shoes, but I think they turned out pretty cute! If she can keep them on her feet for very long I'll definitely be making more.
Next up: a table runner for our new table! I'm so excited to finally have a real table! We're moving again in a couple weeks (just across the breezeway to get away from this nasty smoke smell), but once we get settled in our new apartment you are all invited to come share a meal with us on our new table!
Final bragging point is that my husband is pretty much awesome. Dunc got me these gorgeous flowers for mothers day and made me a delish breakfast in bed. I feel so lucky to be a mom and having another holiday to get spoiled on is just a bonus on top of that. Happy mothers day to all the wonderful women in my life!

Peek a Boo
The little one has a new trick! She loves to play peek-a-boo and does all the work on her own. If you catch her at the right time she'll even provide the sound effects too. Stop by anytime to see the amazing show for yourself!
Also, here's a taste of what it's like playing with Mya when she's tired.

P.S. Sorry for the bad quality, we took those on Dunc's iPod.

Back to BYU
The sun finally decided to come out here so we took advantage of the nice weather and went down to a BYU Baseball game.
This little diva had a blast. Ignore the greasy hair please (she doesn't have much of it so I thought it would be a good idea to cover her whole head with sunscreen). She loved the music clips and got a kick out of us singing along with "Love Shack". I wish the good weather would have come out before the last weekend baseball game!
After the game we headed to Carrabba's to put a gift card from Dunc's birthday to good use. If you've never had the Chicken Bryan there you seriously need to get it. It was SOO good!
Mya has recently gotten big enough to sit in a highchair when we go out to eat and she loves being a part of the action. I love seeing this girl grow up!
Quilt Show
Yesterday my mom talked me into going to a Machine Quilting Expo with her. It was quite the adventure, and by adventure I mean it was pretty much boring. But there were some seriously AMAZING quilts there. I can't even imagine how many hours they must have taken. And the sad part was that a lot of them were not very cute at all. I did get to use a long arm quilter for the first time though and had so much fun with it. Just wish I knew someone that would let me borrow theirs every once in a while.
The highlight of the afternoon was spending time with my awesome mom and baby and then going to dinner with them and my sisters in law. Living close to family is so great.

The Hazens come to visit!
We had our friends up to our new apartment for dinner tonight and had a blast hanging out with them. We first met the Hazens when Brian was in Duncan's junior core group. The first time I met Katie was in the hospital the day after Maddie, their oldest, was born. Kind of a random place to meet someone for the first time huh? Anyway, things have definitely changed and gotten crazier as both of our families have grown. It's a little bit of a circus when we get all three of our kiddos together but we love getting together with them!
Cute Maddie, being the center of attention.
Mya and Zach playing. As long as Mya doesn't grow up to be taller than Zack we'll be arranging a marriage between these too.
Love this little dress. Thanks for sending it Anne Marie!

Cousin Friends
We got together with my Dad's side of the family last week for my aunt's birthday party. It's always fun to see the relatives but one of my new favorite parts of family get togethers is comparing Mya to my cousin's baby William.
They are only two weeks apart but on opposite ends of the size spectrum. It is so funny to see them together. I love it! What's really amazing to me is that even though they are so different in size, they are pretty much right on developmentally. It has been way fun having a baby the same age as my cousin. Now if we can only get our next baby the same age as one of our siblings babies. . .

Moving Day
We didn't waste any time after graduation and jumped right into moving day! Dunc has a job lined up in downtown Salt Lake so we decided to move up north for a shorter commute. After looking way too many places we found an awesome apartment in Bountiful and were so excited to move! We enlisted the help of pretty much everyone we know and got everything packed and moved the day after Dunc graduated.
Unfortunately when we got to our new apartment we were more than a little disappointed. The place was SO nasty and dirty! My SIL Jamie gets the most charitable award for cleaning cat hair off of our cupboards on her birthday. Thanks Jamie! Also thanks to all my sisters, sister-in-laws, and my mom and MIL for getting this place liveable. It was definitely an effort. Shout out to the men too for doing all the heavy lifting, but let's be honest, they never read this anyway.
We also were surprised by the lovely scent of cigarette smoke stenching up our main bathroom. Not pleasant at all. After 12+ hours of airing the place out and some baking soda cleaning solutions it's starting to smell a little better but still needs help. Anybody know a good way to get rid of cigarette smell?
Other than those two big things we LOVE our apartment. It is awesome! We went from a two bed, one bath apartment, to a two bed, two bath apartment, but it feels more like a four bedroom apartment with all the storage we have here. Two of my favorite parts of the house are the huge storage closet and the awesome walk-in in the master bedroom. I'll post pics once we get the place more put together.
Meanwhile, Mya will be busy with her new favorite pastime of watching cars out the bedroom window. I think she could be happy there for hours.
