Mya and Owen Stats: 3 Years and 9 Months

Mya (3 years):
39.33 inches (93%)
30 lbs (46%)

Owen (9 months):
28.15 Inches (45%)
17 lbs (4%)
Head 44.5 cm (26%)

Mya (9 months):
28 inches (75%)
15 lbs 9 oz (5%)

I was curious to see how big Mya was when she was the same age as Owen, so I flipped back to her stats.  Looks like Owen is bigger than she was size-wise, but because he's a boy he's smaller on the charts.  I'm still  holding out that he'll get some of his dad's height!

Mya's Friend Party

Princess Mya had quite the birthday party this year.  I had the hardest time motivating myself to get everything ready for her party, but in the end it all worked out.

She had the cutest group of friends over for her party!  Poor Bridger was the only boy, but he didn't seem to mind.

We took the kids down to the basement and let them go crazy to break the ice a little bit.

I think that may have been the favorite part for most of them.

We played musical pillows, red light/green light,  and pin the sail on the boat.

Then headed outside for a little pinata action.  I really wanted an anchor pinata to go with the theme, but couldn't find one, so I ended up making my own.  It turned out pretty cute, but just a little too sturdy.  None of the kids could do any damage and I didn't have much luck myself.

In the end we took it over to the patio and just ripped it open.  The kids didn't seem to mind at all once they saw the goods.

After that we headed inside to let them decorate the cupcakes.

and sing Happy Birthday to Mya.

Mya loved the presents!

But my favorite part was the card from Bridger:

Mya Turns Three!

Mya's birthday was so much fun this year!  I love three!  She had so much fun opening her presents and was so sweet, and good at saying thank you.  I think I had more fun on her birthday than on my own birthday this year.

Opening presents started out a little slow, with Mya completely removing each piece of tape as she went along, but luckily by the end she had mastered the art of the wrapping paper tear.

One of her favorite presents was the new footie pajamas.  She loves those things and asks for them every night before bed.

She thoroughly enjoyed the day, complete with beater licking privileges in her new PJs.

And here is one of my favorite moments from the day:
"It's gonna be another helmet!!!"  Ha ha ha.  Love her thinking and her excitement over the idea of getting two helmets.

We saved the bike for last and let her open it right before my family came over for cake and ice cream.  That may have been a bad move because we could hardly tear her off the bike for the rest of the night! I'm pretty sure the rest of her presents were opened while sitting on the bike.    This little girl is so great!
She love, love, loves her new bike and wants to ride it all the time.  She picked up on riding a pedal bike really quick and has only had a couple falls. It's so fun to watch her cruise around the neighborhood on that thing!

We had been practicing blowing out the candles a bit before her birthday (after an unsuccessful attempt at her friend party) and all of our practice paid off!  She was finally able to blow out all of her candles on her third birthday.  Go Mya!

We are so blessed to have this girl in our family.  She is so full of life and energy and so fun to be around.  She is too smart for her own good and is always saying the funniest things.  She is the sweetest big sister and loves to help me with everything.  She even makes her bed, cleans her room, and empties the dishwasher all by herself.  I am so grateful for cute Mya and couldn't ask for a better daughter!

September Randoms

Random life from September:

BYU lost to the U of U, but these two looked dang cute in their blue and white.  GO COUGARS!

Mya being a cute little mom.  Dunc recorded this, so I'll quote him, "This is a gem!  This is so precious.  Get this up on the blog!"

And me, cuddling with my baby.  Sometimes I like to sneak into his room late at night and just rock him while he sleeps in my arms.  I'm just so in love with this baby!

Fall Boating

Two weeks ago my parents texted us last minute to see if we wanted to take the boat out one last time this season.  If you know me, you know I never turn down a chance to go boating.  I convinced Dunc to take the afternoon off, so he came home and we headed out to meet my parents at the Lake.

It was FREEZING, but we luckily we were prepared with sweatshirts and blankets.

Owen was bundled up and things were going great!

...until Mya decided she wanted to get in the water.  I thought she was just dipping her toes in the water, but apparently I should have been paying more attention cause she sat down on the swim deck and got her little bum all soaking wet!

Me, attempting to get her little undies dry for the ride home.

We switched her into her swimsuit because she insisted that she wanted to get in the water after that.  (Why did I think that was okay??? Sometimes it's just easier to say yes?)  Dunc didn't want to have to get wet to get her out, so he hooked a rope to her lifejacket, but of course, after all that, she didn't want to get in anymore.  Ha ha ha.  That girl.

We loved being out on the lake and I'm already looking forward to next year's boating season!
