Coming up with a great idea that I stole from somewhere else...

Ecclesiastes 1:9 had it right when it said: There is nothing new under the sun. So sometime I think the smart thing is to do a mash-up of something.  Mash-ups are currently the cool thing to do in everything.  Hell the trailer for Sucker Punch proved that best.  But right now I am tired of mashing-up stuff.  Right now, I want to update an old idea that was a good idea back then and would be a GREAT idea now.  Some of you are calling me a "piece of crap" because I am not doing something new, innovating and exciting. I am not "pushing the envelope" and doing the cutting edge stuff. Well instead of waiting for me to be innovative, why don't YOU do something innovative and tell me about it.  Let's try that for a change.  Hell I have been innovative with Obsidian Twilight (Big announcement coming soon on this) and with NeoExodus: A House Divided (I am working on 8 projects for this at the same time. EIGHT!!!) so I just want to do something that is a good idea and do it well.  Sometimes doing something well is a skill of its own.  And that is how I feel today...

...But this is still a very cool thing I have planned even if someone else did it already.  Now I have to assign some work.  Talk to you later...

Reaction to Joe the Lawyer's Really Funny Comment on Joe Goodman's Post

During the comments on EN World about Goodman Games, Joe the Lawyer brought us this little oldie but a goodie from Goodman Games past. EnWorld did not like what he did (He place the actual post from Goodman Games on the ENWorld site and they took down the post) and Plane Sailing (Enworld Admin) comment as so:

Joe, this is neither big nor clever. If the mods have deleted it, linking to it in this way is thumbing your nose at them. Welcome to a six day ban.

Now the question I have to ask is why did they take down the post in the first place? I don't understand why, but it is their site and they can do what ever they want.  But, don't worry Joe the Lawyer because LPJ Design and the In The Mind of a Mad Man Blog will be holding a candlelight vigil until your return to EN World. We know it will be hard to go with out access the cutting edge resources and intellectually stimulating conversations of of EN World but, do your best to hold on. I know it will be tough.

Wow.  Not even a "hello" , "my name is..." or "I really am a fan of your products...".  Here was my response:

I don't give out free copies of products for people to review. If people are really interested in the product they purchase it then review what they purchased. To me, if you purchase a copy you can tell if people were really interested in the product that they purchased or just want a free copy of your product. Thank you for your time.

...Are you [BLEEPING] kidding me?

Why do people think they are doing me a favor by asking for a free copy of my PDF products and tell me they will review it?  Why don't you let me spend your paycheck and tell you if I bought good things with it.  WTF?!?!?!?!?! 

Just to be fair and give him something for free, I did send him a full page ad for Obsidian Twilight.  I think he will enjoy that.  Talk to you later...

Gaining followers...and a update

I have started in this new concept of "gaining followers". I don't know if it was just all this coverage on Twitter and Facebook that got me thinking this way, but I have decided that I need more followers to ths blog, In the Mind of a Mad Man. Why? I have no idea, but since more is usually better we are going with more. So if you come by on a semi- regular to regular basis, sign up to be one of my followers for this blog.
