Plague Doctor 2

This plague doctor is a 3D printed figure and is 54 mm high. It's kindly given by my good friend Dirk (known as Das_Dirch on Benno's Figures Forum) at the FIGZ 2023. Now I found some time to paint one of the figures he printed. I painted him in the same style as I did with Speira Miniatures Plague Doctor. I hope you like him!

Speira Miniatures Plague Doctor

This post start with a little story. You must know that I've painted this figure as a gift for my wife. Strange gift for the one you love I see you thinking, but it isn't. You must know that my wife reads all about the plague, see documentaries and so on, because she likes to know how the people lived in those days and how they fought against it. And last year I saw this figure on the Speira Miniatures website and I really wanted it for her. It is a 3D printed figure in 54 mm (you can choose the scale you want). I choosed this scale because I had an idea how I could present it to her. Pictures will make that clear.

The figure is painted with acrylic ppaint of Revell, Games Workshop and Vallejo. I had to restart painting the figure once because I spotted some little tips of the printing on places where they shouldn't be. Luckely I had it finished just in time for Christmas Eve. And now the pictures:

Picture borrowed from the
Speira Miniatures Website.

Here are two pictures from a museum in Geel Belgium wich I used as example to paint the figure. More information of this museum you can find here: Gasthuismuseum

And here is how I presented it at her:

And yes she was very pleased with the very original present. It was also the first time in about 35 years we are together that I've painted a figure for her.

Hope you like him to.

Thanks for watching and keep it safe!

Zvezda 8046 Vikings Part 2

After Part 1 it's time for Part 2. This time I've painted one figure of each pose. I bought this figures as a bargain. The seller told me it were 3 complete sets, but not on the sprues. I could have them for the price of one set. But when I started painting these guys, I realized that there was missing one pose. One of the archers wasn't in the box. I placed a litle message on Benno's Figures Forum that I was searching for that figure. And Gunnar from Gataskog sended me one. Thanks for that mate!

I've painted them with black and white, and some brown colors. I wanted them to look very dark, so they would be more suiteble for a fantasy dio (not right now!). And I love the black and white with a little bit of silver on the shields very much. Shading on the shields is Vallejo Grey Wash.

Just have a look at the pictures, and enjoy them!

Archers. The one on the left calls Gunnar!

Axes.

Command.

Spears.

Swords.

I hope you like them!

Heroes vs Vikings

Well this is the post wher everything comes together. More specific four earlier posts.

It's maybe not the kind of adventure you were expecting from Johan, the Red Knight, but it's a beginning. Together with his friend Lancelot he's trying to stop an invasion of Vikings, who where sended by the dark forces of evel.

I also attached some pictures of how I made the little diorama. I made it for the 31st Painting Competition at Benno's Figures Forum. It wasn't good enough and was kicked out in the first round. More luck next time.

Anyhow I still hope you all like it.

This and the following picture went into competition.

Zvezda 8046 Vikings Part 1

This is the first part of Zvezda Vikings I've painted. Really nice sculpted figures and great fun to paint. For who's interested you can read the Plastic Soldier Review here.

Not really much to tell about them, just that these are the first Vikings I ever painted. And we will seeing them back in te next post!

Enjoy the pictures!

I really like this shield.
The black and white looks great.

This is my favorite.
I like the expression on his face.

I hope you like them!
