Jean Hoefler - Cowboys

I was painting one of these figures for my confederate soldiers collection when my friend Detlef from Germany mentioned this figure as his favorite Jean Hoefler figure, and he called him "Fuzzy". Not knowing who was "Fuzzy" I started painting the same figure as a gift for him. So that is why you see two identical figures. The one with the sand color base is a gift for him.

But that isn't the end of the story. I was to curious so I wanted to know, who is "Fuzzy". So I asked him and he sended me this picture. Ladies and gentlemen, meet "Fuzzy". Never heard or seen this guy but I like this funny guy already! 

So with this mystery solved, and as this is a painting challenge (The Analogue Hobbies Painting Challenge), I wanted to paint another one just like on the picture and now you can see the final result here. This one is also gone to my friend Detlef in Germany as a mystery gift. 

Both figures arrived well in Germany!

A Jean Hoeffler Indian painted for a friend!

Because he sended me some very nice painted figures, I couldn't resist painting Detlef Heerbrand also a figure. So here you can see the result and at this moment the figure is already at his new home.

Jean Hoeffler Indian Woman Walking

Here is another non violent figure I painted last week. As far I know Jean hoeffler made only one Indian woman in his range. It is for that a very rare figure. I was lucky to get this figure with a second hand and i reeally didn't realise that this figure was in it. I was so happy when I found her in the package that I couldn't wait to give her a layer of paint. And below you find the result.

Jean Höfler Figures 5 and 6

Just a small post to let you know that I'm still busy. Last week the doctor gave me green light to go back to work. So next Monday, after almost four months they will see me back at the office! For that reason I'm doing everything to clean up my painting desk, and the only thing I'm doing now is painting and basing things. I know when I'm back at work, the first days there will be not much time to paint, but maybe some more time to post things. So you can look forward to a lot of painted stuff!

 

Today I present the next two figures of the Jean Höfler range I've painted. The first one is painted in random colors and the second one could be an old confederate soldier. These figures are a real joy to paint when you're not in the mood for painting little details! And you can give them almost all colors whatever you want. More figures will follow in the future! In the mean time enjoy these two!

Jean Höfler Figures 3 and 4

Today two new figures of this range. They are really a joy to paint. No tricky details, big surfaces to paint so I can finish them quick! A reveal when you look at the little plastic friends. And it's good for my eyes, so they can get a rest.

 

The first figure is the outcome of a trade with my good friend Paul, better known as Beano Boy, from BB's Blog. He missed some of the poses, and still, just like me, and I could help him with some. So we agreed to help eachother to fill up the gap a little bit.

 

When I got this one I started to paint him directly because I liked the pose of this one very much. Also the way I wanted to paint him, I got directly in my mind. Black was the main color. I started to paint him with a very dark grey  and then drybrushed him with black I like the outcome together with the lighter colors!

 

 

 

 

 

 

The second one is one I had in stock. It looked nice to give the previous one someone to watch his back! And he looks real mean! So don't look for trouble with his friend!

 

 



 

 

I also made a picture of the four finished figures so far. They look colorfull all together. I hope you like them?

 

 

 

For the rest I'm busy with some basing of figures and a certain tank. Also some other figures are on the painting table. Unbelievable how much time I have for the hobby now I'm recovering! I get a lot of things finished. The recovering is going well by the way. Stopped medication for the pain this week, but I still have to be carefull with the moves I make. Sometimes I forget about that and then my leg let it know that I did something wrong! My own fault of course!

Jean Höfler Figures 2

Just an announcement, but I have put all the 1/32 and 1/35 figures under the label 54mm here on my blog. It makes the overview a bit better.

The nose is a bit damaged but that is caused by an American Native indian! You can see it better on the last picture!

Jean Höfler Figures 1 and Ray's 500th post

Some of the older followers of my blog will recognize this figure for sure. The younger ones amongst you maybe not. This fellow is one of the oldest figures I have in my collection. I played with this kind of figures when I was a kid and also did my grown sons. I painted a lot of the cowboys as cavalry figures for the kids, but now I decided to paint them again in various outfits. Here is the first of many I hope. The painting of these figures will go on on irregular base. Let's say when I'm in the mood. Not only the figures are asking to be repainted but also a little town and fort of this range.

There was something else I was supposed to talk about??? Oh yes, Ray's 500th post on his blog. The good man is organizing a Blog Give Away on his blog for this occasion. He also asked what the best post was on his blog. For me that was for sure the one where Ray won a set of brushes on another blog give away. The same brushes that his good friend Fran wanted to win. In one of his following post Ray gave them to Fran, but they weren't good anymore. Looks like chewed on them before. Made me laugh a lot.
