This week I finished my book: Let's roll. It's a true story. It tells the story about Todd Beamer. He was a guy that lost his life on flight 93, on 9/11. A very touching story. I got it from my sister for my birthday, and did finish it now. Next books to end: My escape from the auto de fé. from WM. Timms (bougt this one in the USA) and Dochter van China from C. Hope Flinchbaugh, one that I got to read from Debora.

x-mascards
Today, I had fun making x-mascards. I'm not satisfied with all of them, but some look pretty nice I think. Well, have fun and take a look. Here is the link where you can find them all. I will post the one I like the best here... http://skynetphotoservice.wistiti.be/skynet/be_NL/asp/album/album-photo-Galerie.asp?Pseudo=Skynet-395747&album=Skynet-395747WMJXa

Lance Anderson visiting
Today, Lance Anderson from Rusty Picle came to our local scrapbookstore to teach us some things. It was a SPEED course, but I learned some neat things. We made a nice album. I still need to finish it with my pictures, but once done, I'll show you. For now I can show you a picture of us with Lance.

I love vintagepictures. Lately I try to make some creations with those pictures. And since doodling is really in... I'm putting my 1st steps in it as well.
This rolodexcard was swapped with a lady from the Netherlands. I love to use bears ... I'm crazy about them. I stamped the bear, masked it, then inked the background. and then I used the hearts-stars stamp. Finally I coloured the bear with my aquarelpencils.

ATC and Rolodex
Besides scrapbooking I love to make ATC (artist trading cards) I actually just started this new hobby. Well, I always loved stamps, and I usually use stamps to make my ATC's. I just participated for a swap with the theme autumn.
I also make rolodexcards for swaps. And here as well... ink and stamps are my favorit things, especially the distress inks from Tim Holtz.

distressing
As most of you know, I really love scrapbooking. Yesterday I went to a course about distressing. Distressing is making you paper and pictures look old... kinda like creating old lookalike albums. It was really nice, I learned some cool things. And of course I wanted to practise today. I made a birthdaycard.

Above all...
I was touched by a song today. It reminded me of my time in the USA when I saw the play they did about the last days of Jesus life. This song was played there too, and I wanne put it here with a picture I took on the same trip.

Andorra
This summer I went to Andorra. It's a little state located between France and Spain. We mainly did mountainwalks. We really had a lot of fun, and we were with quite a bit... 22 people in total. I shared my room with Jeffrey, Rien and Huguette. After Andorra we went still visting "the family Volckaert". They are Belgians that moved to France. After 2 days France, we had to go back to Belgium... unfortunatly... Vacation just is way too short.

Back in Belgium
I'm back in Belgium. Yeah, I know I have been neglecting my blog a bit. I guess I bought too much scrapbook stuff. Since I've come home, I sure have enjoyed scapbooking.
I mainly worked on some little books for others, and of course I did continue to work on my trip to the USA in 2004.
I sure can tell alot about this trip. I will put some pictures on this site. Some things that come to mind immediately when I think back on this trip are the nice times I had with Trudy. I sure enjoyed throwing some icy water on her... (lol).
Victoria, Trudy's niece, invited me to her school which was cool, too. She had to do a report on Belgium. The student's had the opportunity to ask a real Belgium questions...which I enjoyed very much. Another thing which was very nice was the "bearhunting" we did at the smoky's, and with success, we did see a bear in the wild, didn't try to give it a hug though.
There are still a lot of stories I can tell, and I might tell more later on... but that's it for now....

relaxing in the States
I have been gone for a bit here, but now I am back. I am spending a vacation in the USA. I am just back from Florida. Did spend a little week over there. We had a lot of fun at Daytona Beach. We also visited the Holy Land Experience Park in Orlando, which was also neat. On sabbath before easter I went to Collegedale and got to see a wonderfull pageant. It was called Sonrise, over 100 actors helped to perform. It was about Jesus last days, his death and the resurrection. It really looked professional done, I liked it very much. Now I am in back in Tennessee, and tomorrow we will leave for Chatanooga.
I had already the chance to visit an ABC-store, and bought some neat things.
I sure do like the scrapbookstuff they have over here too... so so cool. It looks like I'll come back packed like a donkey. (Troodel already has fun with this idea, she's sitting next to me imitating a donkey.) Well I sure do like vacation days, don't miss my job a single second. Greetings from Veerle alias Plufke.

blessed sabbath
Last sabbath was a very blessed one. I organised a special afternoon. Everyone could bring a song that he/she liked and then we all listened to it. The person also told why he/she liked the song. It was a very blessed day. I'll post a song that I heard there which I liked very much.
Sanctuary - Chris Rodriguez (Streams)
Seems I left the innocence of Eden long ago
Tempted by my heart to go it on my own
Beyond the garden
Somehow through the desert of my wanderings alone
You have never let me go
I turn from You and still You cover me
I fall so far - you find me in the deep
Anywhere I am, anywhere I am
You sanctuary me
I have felt the separation deep within my bones
Brought me to my knees crying out for hope
Beyond the garden
Somehow through my tears You heard the words I
Could not speak, You were there to rescue me
I turn from You - and still You cover me
I fall so far - you find me in the deep
I lose my way - you're reaching out to me
Everywhere I go
Anywhere I am, anywhere I am
You sanctuary me

last dinner
Yesterday we had our last dinner with our little group. We will have to say bye bye to Griet for a few months, since she is leaving to work for Thomas Cook. We plan to visit her on her new location although we don't know yet where this will be. Here you can see some pictures of yesterday. We gave her a little scrapbook we all made with nice memories.

hobbyfair
Today I went to a fair in Kortrijk. It was about hobbies... And knowing me... lol yeah I did spend some money. I finaly found the stamp I was looking for. I had already fun using it. Yeah, of course when I got home I had to try everything out. I made 2 little books. One of the 2 is really "mini". It's as "big" as a slideframe... so you can imagine. I printed all little pics. It's a real cute thing. And once you begin to craft it's hard to stop... I'll probably go to the scrapbookcourse tomorrow too...

Scrapbooking
For the ones that know me pretty well, they know for sure that I love to scrap! Scrapbooking is one of my mainhobbies. I try to make at least one page a week. When I don't have time one week, I try to catch up in another week. Like this evening I did make 2 pages. For the moment I'm busy with my album that is about my trip to the USA in August 2004.
I have a separate scapblog where I weekly try to put one page on. Everyone can vote on the pages. The adress is: http://scrapypluf.skynetblogs.be/ Feel free to vote!

Timothy
Today at 9.32 am I became aunt for the third time. My sis delivered this morning from a nice cute little boy. His name is Timothy. He is 52cm tall and has a weight of 3kg 620gr. Mother and child are doing fine. I already got the chance to see my little nephew and I could hold him already in my hands. Thanks to God for such a nice little wonder.

She'll be working for Thomas Cook and is leaving to another country. I sure gonne miss her. But I'm glad for her that she found a job. I wish you good luck Griet.

Songs...
Somewhere a perfect man
I don't believe in the stars
Then you smiled at my pretense
As you broke down my defenses
Just want to be where you are
Love ain't like fashion
The look remains the same
I'll wear your heart forever
'Cause some things never change
Like rain, tax
After lightning the thunder cracks
(It's inevitable)
Sooner or later it had to come true
Like rain, tax
Weeds grow up through the pavement cracks
(It's inevitable)
You see what I want
What I want is you
Thought that life was logical
Love was a miracle
That happened to someone else, not me
Baby, I must've said a little prayer
Suddenly I looked up and you were there
And the rest is history
I don't want to be an island anymore
Just resign yourself
'Cause there's one thing for sure
Like rain, tax
After lightning the thunder cracks
(It's inevitable)
Sooner or later it had to come true
Like rain, tax
Weeds grow up through the pavement cracks
(It's inevitable)
You see what I want
What I want is you
It had to be you
It had to be you
Say you'll be here forever
You and me here together
When will you see what I want
What I want is you
Like rain, tax
After lightning the thunder cracks
(It's inevitable)
Sooner or later it had to come true
Like rain, tax
Weeds grow up through the pavement cracks
(It's inevitable)
You see what I want
What I want is you
Like rain, tax
After lightning the thunder cracks
(It's inevitable)
Sooner or later it had to come true
Like rain, tax
Weeds grow up through the pavement cracks
(It's inevitable)
You see what I want
What I want is you

Books
The second book I wanne mention is called: "2x genade" by Harold Morris (Dianne Barker). In English: "Twice Pardoned." It's about a guy that had some bad friends, and due to them got in prison for murder although he didn't commit a murder. He had to stay there for several years. In prison he became a christian. He normally never would get free, cause he had received twice a lifesentence. But with God nothing is impossible. Nice book, when you begin, you wanne read it till the end!
a little bit of everything
Last week I went to Germany with my friends. On thursday we celebrated Huguette's birthday. Rien had organised a party in her favorite restaurant. He had invited friends and colleagues of her, and she didn't know of anything, it was a real surprise for her, and she sure did enjoy it.
The day after her birthday we went to Germany. Huguette surprised us with a lovely week-end. When we arrived we 1st had to go and shop a bit. We didn't do too bad, actually we found that Germany isn't that expensive, we spent like 100€ on food for 5 people (some years ago we spended 12.000 bef, that's like 300€ on food for one week, in France). During the weekend we went walking, swimming, etc... we also visited Echternach in Luxemburg. So we did more then one country. Monday we shopped a whole day in Köln. It was late when we drove back home. We almost got locked up in our parkingplace. And another detail.... we had to push the car because of a dead battery on mondaymorning.... we have again storries too tell, and that's what we sure do like!

Newyearsparty
Yesterday we did have our newyearsparty with our church. It was really cool. We had a potluck for dinner, and believe me, there was really plenty too eat.
In the afternoon everyone could participate in the programm with a poem, a song, etc... I presented the whole stuff, it really was a blessed day.
My little niece did sing a song as well. She did a good job, singing for a whole audience, only being 4 years old. I really was proud of her!
