fun at the beach

Last Sunday Rien, Huguette, Eliana, Griet and me went to the beach. We had a nice lunch, and then we had fun on the beach.

In the evening I went to Ieper, Tony Anthony, the author of the book: Taming the tiger, gave his witness. It was really nice to hear.

stamping staming card stamping...

The last weekend of November Rianne spend the weekend with us. We had fun as usual, and on Sunday we had our hands full with creative stuff. We made several cards, and guess what we used for that? Yeps, right... stamps and ink.

For the 1st time in my life...

Hehehe, it isn't that much of a great deal... but today the police stopped me. I was at about 100 meter from my home. They wanted to check if I was driving under influence of alcohol.... and of course the "s" from safe came on their display.

Trip to Oostende

Last sunday we went in the morning to Westende to prepare a campmeeting for the kids of our church. In the afternoon I went with Rien and Huguette and Eliana to Oostende. It's nice that the shops are open there. Litte Eliana said my name for the 1st time all by herself when she saw me in church last sabbath, so I'm pretty proud of her. She will be good in languages I think, just like her mom. For the moment she repeats all sentences that people pronounce, and it's so funny to hear.

Paris

Last tuesday was a free day here in Belgium. I did show Paris to Gert-Jan. Actually pretty easy to get there. If you drive to Lille (arond 20min by car) then from there out you can take the fast speed train in about one hour. We arived around 10am in Paris and had a whole day to visit stuff.... and yeps, for the 1st time I went on the Eiffel Tower.

I won a competition

A while ago I went visiting a company called FreeyFlor on "open monumentendag". They had a competition going on. I had to guess how many dried flowers there were in a vase, and how many people would guess that right. There were 1800 to 2000 visitors on that day. And from all participants there was only me that had the both answers right... yipeeee..... I'm usualy not someone that wins stuff... so, I was pretty glad I received a nice Freezy Flowered boquet.

Natalia

My friend Huguette works for the province of West-Flanders. And if you work for the government, then you always have a lot of advantages. Lucky for us that we sometimes can join in those. Cause monday-evening we could see Natalia in Brugge for only 15€.

Open monumentendag

Last sunday it was "open monumentendag" here in Belgium. I kinda can translate it with open company day. It's a day where you can visit different factory's and so on, they show working processess and you always learn a lot on a day like that. In my town you could see 9 different company's quite a lot if you compare with Kortrijk, which is much bigger and you only could visit 3. You see where the working people live hahahaha.... (but I won't tell you I work in Kortijk).

In the morning we visited 3 company's.
FREEZYFLOR: a freeze-dry company, if you want a wedding bouquet that lasts forever, that's the place to be. We all got a little frozen-dried roze to take home.
RUVI SHOP: a place where they treat your clothes that are hard to handle.
DEKEYZER: a company where they make funiture, mainly kitchens and bathrooms.

In the afernoon we visited:
TRAPPEN VERSCHAEVE: a company that makes stairs. They produce 1600 stairs a year I heard.
GUIDO HERMAN: a stone and fire design company
LAVATRA: a place where they handle trash.

It was an interesting day, unfortunatly it was rainy all the time

Fun at the beach.

Yesterday was a nice sunday. Griet had her birthday and we (Griet, Huguette, Eliana and me) went to the beach. Poor Rien had to work... so he couldn't join us. As we walked at the beach a certain moment Eliana fell, and her pants were all wet... poor kid. Well, she didn't mind, and we had fun too cause she repeats everything we say now. So, she had to walk in her "blote billen". So all along the way she was talking about "ote illen" or something similar...

Well our coats made sure she didn't end up having cold though. And along the way we still enjoyed yummy crĂŞpes with hot chocolate.....

Of course when getting back, we still wanted to do something with Rien as well, since he would have finished working then, and we wouldn't be real Belgians if we didn't try out some fries.

my actual birthday.

Saturday I got my party, sunday it was my real birthday. It also was "open monumenten dag" in Belgium. A day where you can visit all sorta buildings. In the morning I went visiting the new cityhall in Menen. But I didn't feel like visiting more in the afternoon. So, I went to a gospelconcert. I liked it a lot, and I also got their new cd. (one song I heard already over and over again while driving to my work this week) In the evening I went with some close friends to my favorite restaurant in Brugge. It was very nice to end this day like that.

my birthdayparty

Last saturday was a super nice sabbath. We had sabbathschool and ate together and in the afternoon we had a nice walk. Several people from the Netherlands came over, since I had my party in the evening. I had nice talks, although I was a little stressed in the evening, (I wanted everything to be perfect) it was a real nice day.

Showing Brugge to Leo

Thursday I showed Brugge, our most beautiful city to Leo.
