Waylon Jennings and Jessi Colter met and married in 1969. Jessi had a career in Nashville as a songwriter under the name of  Miriam Eddy. After marrying Waylon she changed her name to Jessi Colter and signed to RCA Records as a solo artist. Waylon & Jessi had one son Waylon Albright "Shooter" Jennings. Waylon took time off the road in 1997 to be with his family, and earn a GED diploma to set an example for his son about the importance of education. Shooter ended up a musician any way. We lost Waylon Jennings on February 13, 2002. Waylon died in his sleep from complications from his diabetes, he was 64.

Outlaw Country at it's best, Waylon Jennings runs through a set of songs destined to be classics. It's strange to think that this music was on the fringes of what was acceptable in Country Music at the time. Icons like Willie Nelson, Hank Williams Jr. et.al. might as well have been Hippies in Nashville. Rinestone suits and nasal delivery were the norm. When the likes of Waylon & Willie stepped up with there blue jeans and common man presentation, the youth of America started catching on to Country Music. Now the top of Country Music channel Waylon, Hank Jr, Willie, and hefty doses of Graham Parsons, Little Feet, and the Eagles, while bands like Kentucky Headhunters play shows wearing Black Sabbath t-shirts.
