Monsters, Inc. Bamboo Fibre Kids Halloween Themed Mealtime Set

Happy October everyone! Can you believe it's that time of year again? To celebrate, I just wanted to quickly share this festive Halloween themed Disney·Pixar Monsters, Inc. inspired Bamboo Fibre Kids Mealtime set I picked up at Marshall's like five or so years ago! I got it for my (then future) little one to enjoy one day and now that time has already come. My son Aidan is almost two years old now, so he's the perfect age for this as he now eats off plates/bowls and can use utensils! Plus he loves Monsters, Inc. AND Halloween, so this is a huge win. 

My wife Brita and I included this in Aidan's "October 1st package" yesterday (a tradition we started where he gets some Halloween presents on the first to enjoy throughout the month), as you can see in the photo down below. So yah, again, this was a long time coming and it's so fun for me that I finally got to share it! I originally purchased this set for $9.99 at Marshall's and I'm so glad I did since I've never seen it return.

Here it is out the packaging so you can see it in better detail! Really cute designs I'd say.

Just as a heads up, someone on Instagram did comment that they had a mealtime set like and the cup broke really easily after it was dropped. I personally haven't had that experience (*gulps*...yet), but I just wanted to let you all know that this could be considered kind of fragile since it's made from bamboo fibre. It IS dishwasher safe but NOT microwave safe.

As mentioned, here's Aidan coming into the room seeing all this Halloween magic for the first time! His reaction was everything we hoped and he was so excited about it all.

Toy Story "THE CLAW" Inflatable Pizza Planet Space Crane Ball Pit (Disney Store/ShopDisney)

The claw is his master, the claw decides who will go and who will stay. Check out this crazy cool inflatable Toy Story inspired Pizza Planet "The Claw" Space Crane Ball Pit from the Disney Store (ShopDisney.com)! This was given to us as a gift earlier this year from one of my old Disney Store cast member friends/coworkers and we finally took the time to inflate it recently for my son Aidan to enjoy in his new playroom. He loves the Toy Story aliens and "the claw" scene in the original film, so he was incredibly excited to see this all blown up. 

This thing is pretty huge, measuring at 60" tall x 36" deep x 42" wide. It comes with 100 bright green balls (very lightweight), which may sound like a lot, but really isn't once you put them in the ball pit area. The 100 balls don't even cover the bottom of the rocket, but I expected that. If you want to fill it up to be more of a true ball pit, I'd suggest picking a bunch more up on Amazon. We left it as is right now, since my 18 month old doesn't know any different. He thinks it's awesome! Maybe we'll add more when he's a little older, but for now the amount it comes with works just fine. The original retail price was $49.99, but it ended up getting some pretty deep markdowns in the end.

 

I used a basic electric pump to blow this up (any one you'd get to pump up a pool float) and it was quick and simple! In the end it look less than 15 minutes. Other than the main rocket (which has several inflation valves), there are five other pieces to inflate and assemble (so six pieces total in the box total): the four fins (that velcro on) and "the claw" hoop to toss the balls through (which also uses velcro to attach).

This really is a super neat item and it's been fun seeing Aidan enjoy it so much. I know it didn't originally get the best reviews, but really no complaints from me! It works just as intended, I just feel it could have included maybe 100 more balls just to at least cover the bottom of the bit area. I don't think I would have picked this up on my own (just cause it's so big and we don't have very much space), but it's so great to have as a gift! I'm sure it will be a hit for years to come. 

Unfortunately this isn't available at the Disney Store or ShopDisney anymore, but keep your eyes open online as it may pop on Amazon or eBay every now and then. Let me know your thoughts down below! Did you pick this up for your little one?

Finding Nemo "I Have the Best Dad Ever" Baby Onesie (by Jumping Beans)

Happy Father's Day, everyone! I just wanted to jump on here real quick tonight and share this adorable Disney/Pixar Finding Nemo inspired "I have the best dad ever" onesie/bodysuit we picked up from Kohl's a while back— specifically for our son Aidan to wear today. I can't wrap up this Father's Day post without sharing my love for Aidan. I'm so grateful for him and feel so blessed to be his dad! He truly is the best son any dad could ask for and is everything I dreamed of. And of course I'm so, so grateful for my own dad and grandad and everything they've done for me. Words can't even express.

Finding Nemo Personalized Beach Towel (Pottery Barn Kids)

Hey all! Welcome back to the blog, I appreciate you dropping by. Tonight I'm taking a quick look at this adorable Finding Nemo inspired kid's beach towel from Pottery Barn Kids—and it's personalized with my son Aidan's name on it! How cool right? My wife Brita spotted this all on her own and thought it was too cute to pass up; ultimately she couldn't resist and actually took the initiative to order this! Aidan isn't old enough to totally understand that it has his name on it, but he will soon enough and totally love this.

I absolutely love the stylized screen art featuring Nemo, Marlin, Dory, Crush, Squirt and Sheldon and the overall colors. Plus it's from Pottery Barn, so you know it's quality!

Toy Story Buzz & Woody Hanna Anderson Organic Cotton Long John PJs

In late August of just this past year, Hanna Anderson (known for their hand-me-down quality children's clothing) released an incredibly cute line of Disney·Pixar organic cotton pajamas for little ones. Included in the collection are designs inspired by literally all my top favorite Pixar films—it's like it was made with me and my little Pixar trainee in mind! Toy Story (seen here in this post), Monsters. Inc., Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Cars and Coco are all represented, with the addition of one pattern featuring a whole bunch of colorful, adorably stylized characters from across all of Pixar's golden age films. We seriously loved them all and couldn't choose which ones to get, so my parents were generous enough to buy us each design and we couldn't be more thrilled!

Each pair of pajamas originally came in many sizes, ranging from 3-6 months all the way up to size 12. Retail price for this particular pair, I believe, was $42. This is size 18-24 months and they fit my 18 month year old son perfectly right now. How amazing is this Toy Story inspired design featuring the unstoppable duo of Woody and Buzz Lightyear? I seriously love the art so much.

Bumkins Baby Toy Story Mealtime Collection Review (Bibs & More)

Last February at the 2020 New York Toy Fair, I happened to stumble across the Bumkins booth (which really caught my eye since Aidan had just been born a couple months prier and I was on the lookout for Pixar baby merch) and knew right away that I would need their adorable new Toy Story mealtime collection. Not long after that, I was so honored to have Bumkins reach out to me asking if they could send me the collection to review! I couldn't believe it and I'm still super grateful to this day. A huge thanks to them! 

Aidan was only 6 months old or so at the time (so he didn't totally understand what was going on), but he, my wife and I still had so much fun uboxing the package in the backyard and were in awe of all the cuteness (check out my original coverage on my Instagram story highlight if you missed it). We were sent the Pizza Planet Alien Silicone Grip Dish, the SuperBib 3-Pack (art my the amazing Joey Chou; one of my fave Disney artists), the Woody Caped SuperBib, the Buzz Lightyear Caped SuperBib and the Purple Spoon + Fork Set. Such a generous box of goodies!

Flash forward to present day (Aidan is 15 months old) and he is still loving all this—now more than ever! Especially now that he's eating mostly all by himself in his highchair and continuing to perfect using utensils. Not to mention now he actually knows the names of and recognizes the Toy Story characters! Last year he didn't know much about Buzz, Woody and the gang, but now he certainly knows who they are/what what they're from. He gets excited about being Buzz or Woody at mealtime and eating off his favorite alien plate. I have fun asking him who certain characters are and find joy watching him be able to point them out. Proud Pixar dad moment! 

For a while, Aidan did not keep bibs on and would rip them off immediately (mostly why I'm doing this post a bit later; that and so Aidan would be old enough to actually use all this), but he's getting a little bit better about it. The bibs—and everything here for that matter—are quality made and exactly as described (though not exactly "tug-proof" for this strong little guy ;)! Plus is that not the cutest art ever? Heck I'd buy that art and hang it on my wall, it's that cute.

It's just so fun that us fans who grew up with these films now get to pass them on to our little ones—and we can do it in style thanks to Bumkins!

Up Wilderness Explorer Baby Onesie

 

The wilderness must be explored! Inspired by the iconic Wilderness Explorer uniform as seen in Pixar's Up, here we have this adorable baby onesie exclusive to BoxLunch! I got this for Aidan a few months back (because how could I not?) and was finally able to take him outside recently for some photos now that it's been warming up a bit. He's gotta be the cutest little Wilderness Explorer I've ever seen! 

 

This one-piece bodysuit with snap button closure is 60% cotton / 40% polyester and is such a cute representation of Russel's WE outfit at the end of the film when he receives "the Ellie Badge" (or grape soda pin) from Carl. I love the accuracy of the patches on the sash as well—it's just all around adorable.

Pixar Pals Baby PJs (ShopDisney)

You wanna know why these baby Pixar Pals PJs are so cute? Because they feature an allover pattern with character designs by the king of cute himself—my favorite Disney artist and pal—Jerrod Maruyama! I had to pick these up for Aidan as soon as I saw them and let me tell you, I'm glad I did. They so adorable, so soft and Aidan has been loving pointing to all the different characters and learning their names! Some of them he already knew (like Buzz, Woody, Mike and Sulley) and he thinks it's pretty cool to go to bed wearing some of his favorites. 

On these cozy pajamas you can spot ten iconic Pixar characters in Jerrod's unmistakable style: Woody, Buzz, Sulley, Mike, Alien, Rex, Carl, Russell, Joy, and Anger. This long-sleeved, heathered jersey knit top and bottom set is 100% cotton and originally retailed for $16.99 at the Disney Store and ShopDisney.com. The sizes ranged from 0-3 months to 18-24 months (we got the 12-18 month size for Aidan, who's 13 months old, and it fits perfectly). Most sizes have since sold out online, but 0-3 month and 3-6 month sizes are still available.
