A journey of a man trying to fight his Ooh! Shiney! addiction while painting interesting things at the same time....

Finished building and modifying a N010. I sawed out the corner and extended the roof remains on the other side. Also some other detail changes but more about that some other day.
I've been a bit busy this weekend.
That is the Destroyed Town Scenery set done bar 1 Bombed Out Terrace House. That will be done this week, and maybe the other 2 I found in my stash (oops). For this lot I need to do the detailing, and the finishing toutches like tiles on the roof of the corner house, magnets for the shop (and I could use another 1 or 2 shops if I am honest). Fun little project this. All of the to be built extras will theme the board. Posterwalls for the Netherlands, UK, Germany etc. Old cars or Modern cars. Telephone poles or modern street lights etc. You get the idea.
All of the kits are easy to build and I even got the roofs now down to a quick process.

And it is done. Yes, I could do a ton more, but I won't. She is done and can go with the rest of my scenery and live on a shelf. Again, a shame this is OOP, but there are more MDF fish in the sea.
Enjoy!

Right, I need the space for a Groupbuild so this one has to be finished by the end of the weekend tops. Need to finish the glazing today so it all can dry overnight, then final detailing on Saturday, Sunday at the latest.
Received a coupon for 20% off from Sarissa this week, put a few items in the Shopping Cart and then went in the attic to see what I had in my stash. One of the items in my carst was this, N022 Destroyed Single Storey house. So....I removed that and started the build.
The house part was easy to build, nothing shocking there. The doors feel a bit weird as they are different from what I'm used to, so I opened one. They both still need a doorknob, I just rememberd, so I need to remidy that and just added it to my todo list.
The roof.....wasn't fun to build. The intact side isn't an issue, that had plenty of grip, the other 2 gave me a lot more issue. But eventually that was sorted and the roof set cleanly. Then I had to remove the nubs of the ground floor wall cause those interfered with the position of the roof. Something simple and quick to do. I cut a ton of 6 rib wide card sections of 3cm long and used those to cover the roof. For this one I'm going for pressed fibre plates. Added plenty of damage.
I received the missing part in the mail so finished the main part of the build. Still working on adding card behind the steps of the stairs which is a bit more finiky than my hands can currently handle..... I managed to mess up my wristst shovelling snow and that will take a fair few weeks to get better. Jay.
I wanted some Sovjet looking art on the front of the building, so went looking for ideas. Ideas that didn't need to be printed or ordered.
So, into the MDF scrap box I delved.....
I picked this kit up somewhere last year (I think?) and built it today. Nice little thing, quick to build, the losse shutters and windows are a nice addition. I've set the windows back a bit for a better 3D effect. That way they stick out on the inside but that will only help with painting. I've added, but not fixed, a Warbases Lean-to Greenhouse to it, but Il will not be glueing it in place. Easier to store or add quest items this way (and paint!). The storage on the other side I did glue down as it is a bit fragile otherwise.
Just not sure yet about the roof. Metal, pressed fibre or wooden panels?
And I have started the 2nd building. Again, nicely cut, good fit, the only issue is that 1 part seems to be missing. It's not on any of the sheets so I've sent off a PM and they are getting right on it for me. As soon as that part arrives I can finish the build.
As the kit does not come with doors I've used scrap MDF to make 2 new ones (and I just realised I forgot to make doorknobs so that is for tomorrow), I've added railings so Yuri doesn't break his neck. Also a ladder to the roof right to the hatch I have added. Remember kids, always have some of that spare MDF stuff in your spares bin. I need to add some card to the backs of the stair steps to make sure it is fully closed off. Once I glue this in and something falls between the cracks I doubt it will ever come out again.
I have some sort of artsy bit from a trophy that I might fit to the front wall....if I can find it.
Otherwise this will get the standard decay, maybe some photo's on the wall. Most of the glass intact this time, but weatherd, mossy. We will see what we can do with this. Most likely not in the next few weeks as I have a deadline for the Militia Build to catch.
Happy with the way it looks so calling it a day. Can go straight into my Stalker collection as well as my Post Apoc when it doubles as storage for the Red Star Brewery. Nice kit to work on, I can reccomend it for super generic storage, and this will look fine when painted up as new too, or modern with graffiti on the sides etc.
Only addition made is the card covering the MDF roof and the red star, otherwise stock.
