Barrier and Barrels

 The barrels are another completed 50 cent challenge - the rims form a trashed bulldozer (that I'm also changing into something nice....eventually). And will work for anything really. Just scatter for my 15mm sci fi stuff or 28mm scifi/modern/post apoc.

And for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. (and Post Apoc, Modern, Zombie ) a barrier. It is the 1/35 Italeri N0. 415 Check Point kit, with both posts cut down a bit to make it more 28mm friendly, and not a low barrier (hah!) Limbo excercise. Based for stability. Ribbed for pleasure.

Another victorious 50 Cent challenge completed (30 cents in this case)!

                                            

 How it started:

Didn't save the original picture, but it had an even bigger base which I cut off and a tennis or something symbol that I replaced with a star.

How it ended:

Paintjob had been finished for a while and I wanted to get it done, so experimented it a bit. I did a trial with the punch on tyhe previous finished building, but those came out a bit dark. So tried again, but using wash instead of paint and it worked like a treat. I'll not be using Beech seeds again, that's for sure. This is much, much easier to tone.

Oh, in case you are wondering about the leaves, easy peasy: 

 

Cut from regular prining paper, mix up some water, a drop of wash and a drop of not modge podge and stir. Add that batch, make a new one with a different wash, repeat till you are satisfied. I went with some nice orange and golden colours this time.

Wreckin' Time! - another 50 cent challenge

 This Mercedes Benz van was picked up at the Goodwill a while back, based and had some small tank road wheels added for burned rims. Then sat gathering dust. as I could not make my mind up if it firt 15mm better or 20mm.

The Mercedes Benz L 406 D T2 (Alt) is a chonky van.

Well, works for both I guess, is what I thought this afternoon....so a bit of sponging and washing later....Done!

Storage container (50 cent challenge)

 Finished this....whatever it originally was. Green translucent plastic, like a cap of something that you could stack? Could be a gamepart? Northstar flat base glued to the bottom, 1/76 Matchbox wheel rim glued on top. Quick paintjob, some spare Space Wolf decals and done.

Now really wishing I had more of these....and this one is going right into my 28mm Sci-Fi bits collection.

 

 

Peaceful Buddah (50 cent challenge)

Another 50 cent challenge done, picked this one up for 20 cents at the Goodwill store, with a bit of damage. Based on a MDF 50mm  base for a Asian setting from 15mm to 28mm, should work for all of them. Added a small fortune in tufts :P

Finishing a old build of a 50 cent challenge (gaslands wreck)

 Took me long enough.

Remember this? Gaslands wreck Only took another 2 years, oh well.

 

It's done. Will work for gaslands,  modern combat zones, Stalker and Post Apoc tbh. Nothing special but great for background shots.

 

 

50 cent challenge: "Please hold"

Todays episode is brought to you by free stuff from the Goodwill. When asking what these 2 cost I was waved off and told I could have them for free. So....0 cents this time.

They are from a Burago playset I believe, as I had this as a child, with roads, and curbs, signs etc. They might be a tad large, but the shape is fine and and the plastic is decent-ish, pretty solid even, with a minor bit of flex.

So, with a Warlord 60mm base, some skellies, lots of dirt, paint, paper, some 28mm scaled books I picked up for Frostgrave, a old Chaos decal and a GW Imperial Guard telephone later, we have these 2.....

 And these go right into the Post Apoc collection.....

50 cent challenge - Matchbox Tractor

 

And it is time for another 50 cent challenge!

So we take one used and abused Matchbox Lesney tractor (stand in picture as I forgot to photograph th edonor that I picked up at a flea market some time ago) and decided it would make a excellent scenic piece to go with my (soon to be delivered) farm. So.....
