My New Favorite Beach

Image
It's new and it's local!   The nice thing about this beach is that it isn't on the ocean...well it's not on the Gulf of Mexico, it's actually a lake! Tons and tons of white sand was trucked in, soft, fine white sand.   The lake is large enough to do some serious kayaking, (which they rent for $10 an hour.) Do you see a figure in these clouds blessing us sunbathers?   I enjoyed a wonderful afternoon under my pink and yellow umbrella just one day before the Tampa area was deluged with rain and flooding. Reading my book, people watching, I enjoyed the delights of the cool lake water. The palms behind me are newly trimmed but will fill out soon and much of the landscaping is still under construction but it's a great place to spend the afternoon! The weather here is nice enough to enjoy this lake all year around.   It opened this month after years of planning and more it to be added in addition to the activities that are...

Beachy Sunset

Image
There is nothing like a beautiful sunset.  It's especially nice when you are on a date!   This last hospital stay we almost lost my husband.  He had begun bleeding out of an artery and had lost so much blood he almost died.  His blood was too thin from his blood thinner they couldn't do surgery right away.  They gave him unit after unit of blood all day and night until 3 am the next morning.  They went in and coiled off part of his kidney.  If he hadn't stopped bleeding, they were going to take the entire kidney.   The recovery was very slow and after two weeks in the hospital he had barely recovered enough to walk.  They sent him home too early. He developed so much fluid in his legs that on his followup doctor visit two days later, his doctor sent him to rehab.   Bill was in the rehab center for a week because he had so much fluid on his legs and feet.  He also need physical therapy to relearn how to use ...

Weekends are for Thrifting

Image
Hoping to inspire you to get out there and find something fun or valuable! Remember my visit to that cute store   Ozoma ?  This was my purchase :-)  All four pieces for $6.00!   Not old but perfect for  flower plates and totems next spring.   In the meantime...for me!  These little bulldogs I bought at different sales at different times many years ago. I've always kept them together.    This beauty has no purpose but to stand there and look good.  From all angles.... But I liked it when I saw it at a yard sale and have always kept it.   It made the cut when I only took 1/3 of my belongings to Florida.  These jugs made the cut too.   The vase is hand painted from Italy and it looks great everywhere This tiny jug is just clay pottery. It is probably someone's school assignment!   I loved the color, the weight and the shape.   I was completel...
