My first Apocalypse game

Well, a couple weeks ago was EvilTed/Archfiend's Birthday and we had an apocalypse game. It was my first apocalypse and it was an experience. I had a lot of fun, I killed orcs, and I saw titans in action. It was a  good day to play 40k.

Mrs. SandWyrm is out of town again this week, so I had to get my gaming in on Sunday at the GP South. Where EvilTed (aka Archfiend of Dezdemon) was up for trying out Kings of War with his Undead. So I packed up my Dwarves and headed down to Greenwood.

"...and behind us, and to the side. They are everywhere!" Had my first game (couple weeks ago almost) against the infamous Archfiend and his band of Orks. He pulled out a Trukk list for me, we played at 1750. I used the same list as when I faced against Nemesis the day before. We rolled up two objectives on 12" deployment. He won to go first, and deployed up. I fool hardily kept my three jump pack squads in reserves again. Sigh, could have charged 2nd turn if I hadn't. After his first turn, it felt like he had a 36" deployment, he was practically in my face.

'Ard boyz Woes.

Well it looks like the biggest problem I am going to have at the Semi-finals is the one thing ork armies have always had. Anything that is armor 14 all around. Hopefully I can hope for my opponents not having that kind of vehicle layout. Playing against a fellow semi-finalist today in a practice game made me realize how vulnerable my army is to this kind of vehicle spam.
