Oathmark Heavy Elf Infantry

 North Star have just released their Elf Heavy Infantry for Oathmark.

Five figures per sprue, and six sprues.

Each sprue can build six heavy armoured Elves, all armed with hand weapon and shield or two handed weapon (or a combination of the two) There is also components to build a standard bearer and an officer.

The sprue does not contain enough swords or axes (one or two handed) to build five axe or five sword, you will need to combine parts from separate sprues.

Elven Heavy Cavalry (Gripping Beast Goth Elite Cavalry)

 At Salute 2023, Renedra had an offer on Gripping Beast plastic box sets. On the Lead Adventures forum someone had used the Goth Elite Cavalry as Elven Cavalry with a suitable head transplant..

So a box was added to my load.

The box is of standard dimensions and contains four sprues, each sprue builds three cavalry figures.

Each sprue has seven heads, three shields, four lances, two swords (with optional two axes) and two standards (one of which is a Draco style one).

The head/body joint is a flat iron shaped neck on the body and a corresponding flat area on the underside of the head.

For elves, the helmeted heads from the Oathmark Elf light infantry was used. They have a ball joint, so a pilot hole was drilled into the neck part of the body, and that was opened up with larger diameter drills until a 3mm drill made the correct size for the head.

The horse had a feather from the same sprue added to the head with the feather projecting back between the ears. I did contemplate making them unicorns, but they were not bulky enough.

Oathmark Elf Infantry

 Nearly two years ago I posted about the Oathmark Elf Light Infantry from North Star.

Finally I have got round to photographing the Elf Infantry. 

This kit is supplied in the usual box and includes six identical sprues, each of which builds five figures. 

The figures can be armed with sword (hand weapon) and shield, spear and shield or elf bow.

The five shields are similar but different designs.

Oathmark Elf Light Infantry

As mentioned earlier, I recently received an order from North Star. This included the Oathmark Elf Light Infantry.

 There are six identical sprues, each sprue having five different bodies and enough arms to build all archers or all sword and shield.

 There are fifteen heads, five each of bare headed, hooded and helmeted.

 The Elf Light Infantry sprue will build either Elf Rangers or Elf Pathguard.

I built the first two sprues as Rangers, which point up at nearly half the number of points of a minimum army.

 They are in a Renedra Oathmark sabot base.

My starter army can be built from just one box of Elf Light Infantry.

For the shootiest version, four ranks of Elf Rangers eats most of the points (they are very points hungry).

This does leave (almost) two sprues left over.

As an alternative, you can swap one rank of Rangers for Pathguard and buy a level one Spell Caster.

Here is my spell caster built from one of the Elf Light Infantry with a couple of additions from the Frostgrave Wizards's sprue.

The whole lot needs proper basing before being painted.
