Enjoy Your Stay is the second book it the Sugartown series. This book starts out with Holly left alone and pregnant by her ex. She and Jackson have been friends with benefits for a long time but the way they feel about one another is changing into something more. The problem that stands between them is that Holly's pregnant by another man.
This book started out really good for me. I loved Holly's smart mouth. I laughed a lot in the beginning. Both Holly and Jackson would do things and say thing to push one another away. Most of the time what they said and what they did was contradictory. It was stupid and frustrating for me because it was done so many times I was just bored and frustrated with the whole situation.
Enter Cooper, Holly's baby daddy. Well this is where things get interesting. This makes her a whore in my eyes but then again I hate Jackson was guilty of the same and he made everything harder by hiding his true feelings as well. At around 60% of the book I just felt like my head was spinning. I couldn't keep up with Holly, Jackson, Cooper, and Chelsie's bi-polar disorders. I really wanted to give up at this point.
I really wanted to like this book. I was totally excited when it was released but it just wasn't for me. I didn't even like the characters. They seemed immature and repetitively made bad decisions. They also felt and thought one way but told each other they felt another. The storytelling was choppy and hard to follow at some points and boring at others. This was a waste of several hours I can't get back.
There were some good points to this book. The beginning started out really interesting. I loved the tension between Jackson and Holly before they got stupid. They were really funny and I found myself laughing several times. The funniest part had to be when Sammy found the flash drive and the whole family saw the video of Anna. I couldn't stop laughing at that.
I had really high hopes for this one and unfortunately it didn't pan out in the end. This doesn't mean you shouldn't read it. We are all different and have different opinions and views and I really respect this writer for pouring her heart and soul into her work. This just wasn't for me. If you read the spoilers then you will see the things that bothered me may not be an issue for you. If they aren't then you should give this book a try.
P.S. I'm wondering if some of the disconnect with this book is because of the Aussie author? There are a lot of Australian references that seemed weird to me or I didn't know what they were. Either way Happy Reading. I hope you enjoy it more then I did.
