Gable Powers had all the makings of everything my father had ever warned me about: a reputation that was anything but stellar, a dirty mouth that had me shivering at the things he uttered in my ear, and a body (oh, God, that body) that was covered in tattoos, all of which added up to a solid ten-point-oh on the bad-boy scale.

The first time I met him, I instantly loathed him.

The second time was even worse.

He was a jerk. He was an ass.

He had secrets.

He was nothing I thought I ever wanted.

So why couldn’t I resist him?

F*ck me!! My GPS on my TBR on my Goodreads List must be malfunctioning because lately I seem to be veering towards whiny assed, annoying as hell female characters..
I'm not sure what happened but at the beginning of this book we met this tough, independent country girl Scout and somewhere along the way she became this annoying az f*ck doesn't know her head from her ass *insert the roll of the eyes here* female..
Move over Kiera from (S.C. Stephens-Thoughtless Series) you have been stood down!! So you can see where I'm coming from right!!
I'm not really known to give low ratings and I think this is my very first 2 star I've given (I am so sorry)..
I guess for me I just couldn't look beyond her annoying *grate on the nails black board* character in this book..In the beginning I thought I was in for a crazy assed ride but only crazy was when I went to the booze cabinet and we'd run out of whiskey *crazy right* it was either have a few whiskey shots or throw my ipad out the window!!
Please Please Please in book 2 do without the annoying female and I will jump on that book!!

This one was very eye roll inducing. Scout was so god damn annoying. Whiny. Immature. You name it. She started out as a bad ass farmer girl changing her tire in the rain. What happened??
Gable is a tattooed college man whore who of course falls for the girl who's a game changer. They spend most of the book being mad at each other, not really communicating, and then her running and not talking to him.
The whole email school project thing started out kinda cute but turned into something lame. It was cute the way they got to know each other over email, but they open their mouths and it all went to shit.
The insta love in this book wasn't working for me. Scout was just too annoying for me to get past. Gable didn't have much of a personality to me. The pov was only in scouts and she just annoyed me. So I really didn't get much of a feel for gable.
Oh and his "secrets" weren't really secrets at all.

“Be a rule breaker with me.”

Gable Powers-

Model Andrew England 3

☑ Tall, dark, tatted, and handsome
☑ Bonafide Manwhore.Ladies man.Commitment phobe.
☑ Dirty-talker extraordinaire

10520755 729956120416896 2852344213302191575 n

☑ One of four panty-melting Powers brothers (Zeke, Ryker, Lochlan)

Gable is like the Travis Maddox of Hallervan University minus the underground fighting and impulsive tantrums. He’s described to be the “uncouth, rude, and too wild” one out of his brothers, and like the rest of his beautifully gifted blood DNA, he has his fair pick of willing women but chooses not to commit to any girl after being burned before by the stake of love...

That is, until he meets Scout—the one girl who doesn’t fawn over him and put up with his bullsh*#. She is after all, the exception to his rule…the only person who sees and accepts him as he truly is...his one and only game changer…and she’s all his.

“You took all the bad inside me and replaced it with hope. Woke me up…made me feel something again.”

“You gave me stitches, Scout.”

Scout Patterson-

1321285 bigthumbnail

☑ Upcoming journalist hopeful
☑ Country girl from a small town who carries similar plight like Gable in the romance and betrayal department.
☑ The only girl in a family full of protective men (her mother is deceased).

Scout is just your average girl who moves to Washington from Idaho (where she’s from) on a scholarship to attend Hallervan Uni. She wants to live a normal college life, but as luck would have it, the bad boy of campus sets his eye on her and she’s forever caught up in his web.

My two-cents:
Gable was a good start for The Powers That Be series. Granted, it did remind me a tad of an inkling of Tammara Webber’s Easy in regards to the whole pen-pal emailing thing and not knowing who the other person is (at first!) on the other end…But! I thought it was cute. And uh, uber sexy after a while! *wink wink!*

As for content—well…. I actually would have liked more interaction and dialogue between Gable and Scout before they actually got to together and declared their love to one another. I mean, a lot of their “actual talks” came in through the emails or texts but never in person. I get that with the whole pen-paling aspect of their relationship, that it initially started as an innocent school assignment (*which I may add, felt like a pointless tandem thrown as a ploy in the plot because the endeavor never went anywhere*) that was supposed to remain anonymous with both recipients not to reveal who their identities. But, as this is a story with characters that are not dumb and oblivious to their surroundings, they eventually figure out who they’re spilling the beans and their secrets to (-subtracting the big oopsie that Gable’s little brother reveals to Scout) early on and from there, it’s a matter of “what” and “where” they’re going to take things from there.

Both Gable and Scout spent a lot of the book running away from each other and their feelings due to being hurt in the past by friends and lovers. Their situations create a somewhat even battlefield as both have experiences parallel twinges in the woes of love (although Gable’s one ended up in tragedy) and therefore created a type of camaraderie and unspoken understanding between the two that helped build on their friendship and romance.

So, my verdict?
A wonderful read that I *no joke* read in just one sitting!! I was that hooked!! I hope that in Zeke’s and the rest of Gable’s brothers’ upcoming stories, that there will feature even more background and interaction between the brothers, their family as well as the female protagonists.

Otherwise, an addicting and engaging story that kept me fanning myself and wanting MORE Gable!! Hehe!!

Great job, Ms. Bentley! September 2015?! Omigah, I'm going to die!! I want Zeke NOW!! *pouts* lol♥

Started out not liking Gable, but he grew on me. Loved Scout and then she turned whiny. She came around in the end. I loved their e-mails and text messages. On to the next brother.

This started out great, I was really enjoying myself up until 70%. The last 30% were the worst, I was considering giving this book 4 stars and now I think 2 is more fitting.

GABLE is not a long book, it's an easy, light, sweet and fast read. I liked the writing style, the story was promising, it's a NA so expect some unnecessary drama, some big, bad college man-whore and an innocent and sweet country girl. I knew what I was getting into and I enjoyed it, it's good to read something so cliché from time to time, you know?

I liked Gable and Scout at the beginning, they're not the deepest characters, they're not very well developed but I liked them, the story reminded me a bit of EASY by Tammara Webber but not in a bad way. I really liked the secondary characters as well, Amy and Bodhi, they were good friends and very funny.

GABLE is nice story and I can see why people loved it, but the last 30% killed it for me. They were terrible. And, I was so angry because, damn it, I was enjoying it so far! Scout was so freaking stupid and frustrating, she became this childish, scary, annoying girl and I wanted to punch her in the throat. I mean, if you've read the book, the scene at the end when she's home and yells at her entire family not to open to Gable because he wants to take her away and then proceed to tell them that he's a man-whore, that he slept with her etc etc... Are you kidding me?! That was just plain crazy. I really disliked her at the end, I tried to understand her reaction but I couldn't, she overreacted, didn't try to understand Gable once.

I did like Gable. The story was not in his POV so it was a bit harder to get him but he didn't do anything bad, he may have screwed up at some point but nothing awful and the way Scout reacted you'd have thought he had raped her. But still, at the end he went and crawled back to her, it was kind of pathetic.

Anyway, the ending was just that bad. It went from being a good book to being something I didn't even want to have on my Kindle anymore. I swear, I'm so disappointed. I will give the next installment a try because there were still things I enjoyed about this book. It was funny at times and I liked Harper's writing style.

DNF @ 8%

There has never been a book more not for me than this one. I am extremely disappointed. I wasn't expecting this to be Chaucer or anything, but I liked Bentley's True Love series so I was hoping to enjoy Gable as well.

Reasons this book wasn't for me:

1. Written in past tense. I loathe when the book opens with the narrator saying something along the lines of "I never expected it to be like this. This is my story. Here's how I came to love him." I don't like this storytelling method.

2. Slut shaming. The MC slut shames another girl for wearing an outfit she doesn't like. THEN, immediately after this, the MC gets out of the car in the rain wearing a white romper. Obviously the hero can now see everything through it- even her hard nipples because he's so hot.

3. The book seems to want to emulate the success of Beautiful Disaster/the Maddox Brothers (nothing wrong with that, those books are wildly successful), but imo does so poorly. Gable isn't just a bad boy, he's down right offensive. I couldn't take the way he "talks dirty" to Scout in the middle of a college class. It was gross.

4. The info dumps. I had to learn all about Scout and her family full of people with stupid names through one giant info dump. "Let me tell you about my family." Then, I learn all about the Powers brothers the same way. Gable was described the same way- A giant paragraph of adjectives. Lazy storytelling.

Obviously, this wasn't my bag, but I do think it will find an audience. Happy reading, everyone!

Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

A typical overly dramatized NA with a bad boy and a good girl who indulge in anger, sarcasm, and jealousy while making cow eyes at one another. The usual "secret" that keeps them apart is rather minor and could have been cleared up had they just talked. The hero is a sexist jerk and the heroine starts out great but soon morphs into a whiny, clingy, drama queen.

Edited: I want to add that the writing is solid and even though the characters are predictable, they are developed well. Unfortunately, the storyline fails as it drags the reader into a black hole of 20 something angst and alcohol induced misery.

Just your usual college-age romance. The hero was okay. And, the heroine was meh. The book was just too short for my liking, but it did have some sweet and tender quotes from the hero. He was your typical manwhore, but when all was said and done, he had been seriously hurt in the past by two people that were important to him. No wonder why he had trust issues. I wasn't a huge fan of this book, but I will definitely give the next book in the series a try. This series has the potential to be amazing with the most impressive main characters and possible storyline portrayed...

I feel awful giving this 1 star but never in my life have I despised both main characters. Everything that came out of scouts mouth was irritating, she complains for the majority of the book and is overall pretty stupid. She hates Gable when she first meets him and even though he does nothing to change her opinion of him she's suddenly all over him and in insta love land. Her stupidity was out of this world because she's constantly fawning over a guy that is a complete disrespectful prick, but hey he can get her off so what does that matter. Speaking of Gable, he was everything that is gross is a guy. He was borderline misogynistic and treated the girls he was with as disposable and did nothing to redeem himself throughout the entire book.

Despite my distaste for the main characters I really did like Bodhi but sadly he didn't make up for Scout and Gable. I know a lot of people will like this book because the writing style is good, I just couldn't.

This started out really good. Scout the heroine first meets Gable while she's waiting for AAA to come and change a flat tyre, even though she's perfectly capable of doing the job herself. That's when Gable comes along and wants to help her. He's the tattooed bad boy manwhore, while she's the wholesome farm girl with attitude. But then as the story moved forward she turned into this complete whining mess who didn't have one ounce of self confidence. As for Gable he seemed to have multiple personalities and not all of them good. This gave the story a choppy feel as I couldn't get a feel for the characters.

This is what looks like the start of a fantastic series. After reading Gable I'm so looking forward to reading more of these hot tattooed brothers.

When Scout meets Gable she has an instant dislike for him. She's heard so much about his bad boy ways. Gable wants Scout and he will do anything to have her. The chemistry between these two is hot.

This is a really great hot, sexy and funny read. I ended up reading this in one sitting. Looking forward to reading more about these delicious brothers.

Harper Bentley has done it again! Gable might only be the second book of hers that I've read, but I can tell you right now that she's gained me as a reader for life. I just love her writing style. Ms. Bentley breaks my heart, but she also makes me laugh my butt off, she brings out all my emotions, and she captures my attention so much so that I never want to stop reading, the time just flies by, and the real world rarely intrudes on the powerful ones that she creates. I could continue, but for now I'll just tell you that absolutely loved this magnificent story!!

Scout has just started at a new college, but already she's been warned about the infamous, sexy Powers brothers. She's unimpressed however, and just wants to focus on becoming a journalist, but then she meets one of them and Gable is an cocky arrogant a*shole. She knows he's Trouble with a capital T, but that doesn't stop her from wanting him. He excites her, infuriates her, entices and confuses her. Scout doesn't know what to make of the man, but she knows that there's more to him meets the eye.

One of the things I loved the most about this book was the characters. They were funny, relatable, and definitely their own person. I loved Scout's sassiness, determination, and stubbornness. I also really adored her name! Gable's a jerk, but he's a very HOT, very likable jerk. I loved his persistence, dirty mouth, and his sweetness. My favorite thing about them was Gable and Scout's banter, it was hot and entertaining!

There are some books where I know there is going to be a HEA because I've seen that there's an epilogue (or just for whatever reason) and so when the time comes for the conflict, sometimes I'm not as affected as deeply because I know it's going to end happily. With some books, though, I can't remain unaffected and I couldn't with this one. Gable is a very fun, fast read, but it still made me heartsick, nervous, and worried. It's one of the main reasons why this book was amazing to me because it made me feel all the those emotions even though I knew I would get my happy ending.

This book is beautiful, sweet, steamy, and a little heartbreaking. It will pull out all your emotions and make your heart pound. It was extraordinary and I loved it so much that it gave me stitches!!

Gable is a told mainly from Scout's point of view and it does have a HEA ending. It is the first book in this series, it is a standalone and I positively cannot wait for the next book in this series!! ~ Paige, 5 stars

It's ok.

I'd been having one of those days, you know the ones I mean where you just can't settle on a book I'd started and discarded so many that when I started this I didn't check the reviews, unusual for me but I didn't think I'd stick with it but I liked it instantly and so I read on.
Since there's so many reviews I'll skip my usual summary and just give my opinion, which is
'It's ok'
Those two words sum this book up perfectly for me.
There's nothing original here but then I didn't really expect it we have Gable the tattooed bad boy who's hot but been hurt in the past so he's developed a revolving bedroom door.
Then we have Scout the good girl, only one previous boyfriend also been hurt in the past but she's no pushover and although we know they're going to end up together she's going to make him work for it....well that's how it looked at the start and that's the book I expected however that's not the book I got.
The first time we come across Scout she comes across as intelligent tough and independent, just the person to give Gable a hard time but then she changes and becomes whiny, irritating, immature and annoying and don't get me started on the ending.
While I would have preferred dual POV's ultimately it wouldn't have mattered.

Book Blurb – 4 Love/Hate stars

Good farmer girl meets in the rain notorious campus player. Sexy !

The plot is well known , no surprises there is a HEA .

I am giving points to the author because of the emails thingie. That`s what made me read the book and kept me interested and it also reminded me a lot of Fifty Shades of Grey.

To explain to those who haven`t read the book the main characters get an assignment in one of their classes to write each other but they don`t know who they are actually writing. In the end of semester they get to meet the person they are writing to.

I didn`t feel much for the hero he had some issues and most of the time was a jerk. I didn`t like him even with the revelation of his past. As for the heroine I would say she had nothing special about her your everyday Jane.

Damn the college romance is losing it`s power!

I really enjoyed reading this book! I read it all in one sitting.. ha-ha :) This book had my attention from the very beginning and it kind of reminded me of Easy with the emails back and forth and not really knowing who it was. I've been looking for a good book to read for a while now and I've been having a problem with finishing books lately, this one definitely got me out of my book funk. I definitely recommend this book! :)

Liked this one OK. Both the H/h were a bit annoying, and of course we had the obligatory kissing OW scene. This added nothing to the story other then for me to wish the h would tell the H to take a hike, but whatevs, this seems to be the trope de jour lately!

Overall an OK read.

At only 220 pages, I really wondered how the author was going to pull off a 'hate em before you love em' story here that would even remotely be plausible. Well, props to Harper Bentley cause this author nailed it ... Yeah, yeah... that's whatshe said!

I have found very few NA romances that are above par, mostly because they lack realism or because they're a smut plot that's incongruently laden in juvenile antics and voices. So, don't let the NA classification scare you off here... That is if you don't mind a college setting. This book is a college setting & the voices and interactions reflect such.

I'm surprised at the low ratings. I've read some bad shiznet, and this really doesn't deserve to be lumped in with 1 & 2 star books. You want one of those try my recent DNF "Kiss a Stranger" by RJ Lewis that was so horrible I bet the author's computer had an STD and PTSD after keying it out.

Onward...

Gable can be a real douche at times. It's clear his mouth is ahead of his brain more often than not. This leads to the female MC, Scout, being hurt and confused through a lot of the book. It's easy to hate his ass & her for wanting him. But, actions also often speak louder than words. For example, the decision he made in the car after their haunted house trip was one that respected her as someone he didn't want to hurt and his own obvious conflicted feelings. In looking beyond just his words, I was able to connect with him and get that his words were often a blanket he hid under. If words, dialogue alone propel your likes and dislikes character wise & you aren't a reader that looks at intent, then you could easily hate Gable. Maybe this ^ explains the low ratings?!?

While this book doesn't have a lot of explicit sex (two & one sexting scene) or rock your world FSOG moments (NONE), it has a little something in all the other departments.

Angst: Poor Scout was just a mess, & damn if I wouldn't have been too. Gable was one confusing sexy arse Mf.

Mystery: Scout has an anonymous pen pal assignment; she's #6 and he's #4. The author did a great job with 'does he or does he not know'... I was damn sure he knew... Then I wondered if maybe he had someone else doing his assignment for him... Then I was absolutely positive he did know.., Then I considered maybe he really didn't know after all. ~ Oh, and the truth will set you free!

Humor: There were plenty of offhand humorous banter moments, a couple of cute what the F kinda scenes, a lot of sexual innuendo, some tit for tat emails and texts, and a quirky gay dude in Victoria Secret to round out the angsty end of the romantic plot:)

Now, for my complaints:(

I would've preferred to have Gable's POV beyond the very short epilogue. Since he took off twice, it would've been nice to have at least a little perspective on the shit he was mentally working out, and I think this would have prevented a lot of the negative ratings by helping readers better understanding Gable through words. I can use my imagination and deductive reasoning skills on his part, but I don't want to; that's why I'm reading, not writing or daydreaming.

Given the amount of sexual innuendo and self-proclaimed Sex God label, it would've also been nice to have a better feel for if and why the label is applicable!!!?!???!! You feel me? Yeah, yeah... that's what she said !

I loved the farm scene, but the resolution felt a tad bit rushed. A better, more thorough dialogue of 'why' at the farm & a broader epilogue for the future would've made the story more complete for me. I got the gist...just felt rushed.

4 1/2 stars for writing, characters, and plot. Complaints= Minus 1 star, leaving a 3 1/2 star book rating IMHO.

Bentley - Gable

Read it. Right now. Click it, read it, love it. Then end.

Okay, okay, not really the end, but seriously, that’s what you need to know. Ya’ll know that Harper is my home-girl. (I’ve been using a lot of outdated phrasing this week. Just go with it.) She knocked it OUT OF THE PARK with Gable. Gable is hot, frustrating, smart, frustrating, hot, and frustrating. And when he’s frustrating, he’s really hot. Did I mention frustratingly hot? Yeah, that.

Overall Rating: 5 stars- Screw sleep! I’ll let the kids watch TV and eat hot dogs tomorrow.

Gable starts a new series by Harper and man, am I ready for the rest. But we’ll get to that when she writes more books. (Dear Harper, write faster.) Right now, we’ll talk about Gable.
“Jumping Jesus on a pogo stick, he looked good.”

Gable Powers is, as mentioned, smart, hot and frustrating. He is the definition of a cocky bastard. I loved how much he pissed Scout off. Because he pissed me off, too! It reminded me so much of every hot guy who was a total douchebag that I’ve ever known. I mean, obviously Gable turns it around and turns out NOT to be a douchebag, but the beginning? Be prepared to want to punch him. And ya know, do him.
“Would love to watch you masturbate sometime, Priss.”

As for Gable-the-book, it’s great. I love the premise of secret pen pals. It’s not the first time it’s ever been done, but the ride through it is awesome. Just when I think I’d know who knew what when, Gable-the-person would do something that left Scout and me scratching our heads. I love when a book keeps me guessing.
“The heart wants what the heart wants.”

Now, don’t get me wrong. Scout is also a little frustrating sometimes. There were several points I wanted to say “JUST ASK.” But I also felt like her hesitance was appropriate for her age and her personality. I think Harper has a real knack for writing NA books because she just “gets” how that age group thinks. They’re flawed (okay, stupid) sometimes but you still understand them and root for them. I love it.
Amorous congress? What the hell?

Gable landed Harper on the USA Today bestseller’s list for a reason. It’s awesome. It’s also under a buck, which is a flat-out steal. Don’t miss this one.
“You gave me stitches, Scout.”

Smut Factor: 4 stars- Smokin’ Hot!
Character likability:
4 stars- I wish we were friends.
Storytelling:
5 stars- I wake up thinking this really happened.
Writing and editing quality:
5 stars - Excellent!

I've had my eye on this book for a while. I'd read good and bad reviews but something kept pulling me towards reading it. I ended up enjoying it. In college the two main characters have to "open up" to each other through emails as part of a class. The catch is that they don't know who each is.

What I liked:

Gorgeous hunky hero

Once the hero decided he was all in, he was really all in

The email bantering

The emotions you feel as the heroine struggles with Gable liking her for her or his on-line pen pal, who's actually her

What I disliked:

When he kisses the heroine for the first time and he says the exact same thing to her that she heard him say to another girl that he kissed. I wanted to throat punch him.

I ended up liking it well enough to continue on with the series.

❤️🌼🔥IF GABLE IS THE FIRST OF THIS SERIES, I’LL BE READING THE WHOLE SERIES.....❤️🌼🔥
So, from the first time Gable Powers And Scout Patterson lay eyes on each other, we know this cocky, dirty talking bad boy player at whose feet girls have always fallen has met his match in the hot sweet farm girl, who (although she loves every minute of it), rebuffs his crass and constant advances, we know their lives will never be the same...And Harper Bentley gives us a front row seat to this love story.....❤️🌼🔥
Obviously, they both have trust issues and both for good reasons, and they are determined to never be hurt again....but in order to get what they both want, risks have to be taken for the rewards to be worth it....Throw in a shared class assignment, and the story is not only hot...it’s on fire....Thankfully, these are smart young people who realize they have no choice but to open their hearts, again, for the love they both feel...❤️🌼🔥
This is Book 1 Of Harper Bentley’s The Powers That Be Series, and I knew a quarter of the way through, I’d be reading this entire series....❤️🌼🔥

OK! First I gotta say that this was a hot and fast read.
It was a NA and as expected the story was full of situations tipical for the mentioned age, I liked the characters, both of them (tattoed-man-whore-not-wanting-the-commitment bad boy Gable and sassy, determined and naive Scout/Priss)... at first

but as the story goes on and things are taking a swing, there's a case of mistaken identity (through out the given school assignment) - well of course there is, and a lot of stubborness (I just hate the determination of NOT speaking your mind LOL) and then I kinda disliked the Scout's reaction and that just dropped the ratings from 5 to 4.

It still stays high ranked and will have the place on my "favorite's" shelf simply because I had the throbbing feeling in my...hmmm...lets says - gut through out the whole process of reading and that is not easy to achieve - it was the whole sexy/hot banter between Gable/Mr.Four and Scout/Priss/Six

yeah, you could say I enjoyed it LOL

What a story. I loved this unique story-line. It had a lot of twists and turns in it. Such great writing. At one point my heart hurt and I couldn't see through the tears. Such a good book. Can't wait to read more about these characters!

Loved the pen pal aspect of this relationship. It was a great twist that turned out perfect! Loved Gable and can't wait to read about his brothers.

Gable by Harper Bentley is a quick and angsty read that will leave readers wanting their own Powers brother, but I’ll warn you…you’ll have to see through his bullshit and get past his whoring ways to see the good hearted man whose one experience with love left him the filthy mouthed playboy that he’s perceived to be.

At first, the heroine, Scout Patterson, sees the public Gable, and saying she’s not impressed is an understatement. She’s heard all about the Powers brothers because they are the talk of Hallervan’s campus, which is exactly why her plan is to stay clear of the professed manwhores and that’s only reinforced when a certain Powers stops to help her and spews a plethora of innuendos detailing exactly what he wants to do to her. Unimpressed, Scout doesn’t giggle or bat her eyes like Gable is used to, but that doesn’t stop his mouth or his eyes from racking over her every time he sees her, which is quite a bit since they work and have psychology together. But everything changes for Scout when her psychology professor assigns each of her students a classmate pen pal and hers happens to be the one person she wants to hate but just can’t make herself do so.

What follows after that assignment is the push and pull between two people who have trust issues due to past relationships and a double life for both of them – one where things are free and easy – where they’re both unafraid to talk about things because of the supposed anonymity they receive through cyber space, and the other – one that’s way harder and angstier to deal with, which is what sends Scout doubting her reality and questioning everything, leaving her with nothing but a heartache and the realization that nothing is ever easy when it comes to the opposite sex, especially one as difficult and assholish like Gable.

Scout and Gable’s story is a good start to Harper Bentley’s The Powers That Be series. I’ll admit, though, that I wanted to slap both of them. I understand both of their reasons for being cautious, but I wanted Scout to take control and not allow herself to be walked all over by Gable and then keep going back for more. Scout’s strength at the start of the story wanes as her interactions with Gable increase, which didn’t mesh well with my first perception of her. Gable may be a hard sell for some readers as well. His cocky attitude and uninhibited mouth might put people off, but if they’re able to see beneath the bullshit and understand how the events of his past shaped him, they’ll see him how Scout does or at least give him the benefit of the doubt in the end.

Bring on the next Powers brother - I can’t wait to see what kind of antics they get themselves into, especially when they’re brought to their knees by the “right” woman.

"6 - 4 = 2 Stars"

I downloaded the sample last night and in my half asleep, lay in bed, dropping my kindle on my face stupor, somehow I purchased this book. I do amaze myself sometimes.

Anyway, This book is not all the blurb big's it up to be =( .. Sorry.

It's your typical 'tattooed, sexy, whorish, never gonna fall in love bad boy who falls in love with gorgeous girl who would never fall for a guy like him'... so I'm lead to believe anyway. The story had no sustenance, I couldn't for the life of me tell you what any of these characters look like. It was all just too vague. I know reading sparks the imagination and for each individual reading they will have their own interpretation but there was just nothing to go on. Events would take place without no knowing how said event occurred to begin with, you have to accept that 'it just did'.

Ok, Enough of that, I hate putting a book down and it's no disrespect to the author because the writing was great and the story could have been too had it had more depth allowing you to be able to connect.
