Chris has had a monumentally bad month. First, an aggressive band of aliens invaded the Earth, conquered the world, and now he’s fighting for survival in the mountains with his family and the neighborhood bigot. Just because he’s barely out of his teens and a bit on the scrawny side doesn’t mean he can’t watch out for his mom, sisters and younger cousin. Chris keeps searching for the brighter side of things, but his humor is wearing thin. Fear can do that to a guy.
Lasar and Nary are a soul matched pair of warriors from Alashar. Lasar is Nary’s Ahna, the one who dominates him, and Nary is the Nasha, or submissive, to Lasar. Every Alasharian, regardless of orientation, needs the balance of the power exchange to exist peacefully within their lifelong soul match bond. When Lasar is awarded a war prize, he sends Nary to look over the recent arrivals.
Chris and his cousin Morgan are captured and sent to the slave cages where they discover from the other imprisoned young men that they are destined to be sex toys for alien pairs. When one of those aliens saves Chris and his cousin from being abused by the slave master, Chris hopes that the seemingly kind alien won’t be too horrible an owner.
Lasar and Nary are finally alone together with their new sex slave, ready to enjoy their reward. However, in the middle of their playtime a shocking event occurs that not only disrupts Chris’ world even more than it already has been, but also challenges everything that Lasar and Nary have always held dear. As Lasar searches for answers, he begins to question the reasons behind the Earth invasion and where his loyalties should really lie. As their Ahna, he must be the one who decides whether they will all be safer together, or apart.

I'm not rating it because I didn't finish it and don't expect to ever do so. If I had to I'd say it's worth at least a 3 because of the beginning if nothing else...
Even though it's killing me to not know what errors were made and why concerning how humans are perceived and treated and what led to the aliens taking over Earth.
I just can't.
See, the summary mentions this balance achieved between the two aliens from an exchange of power. But that's not how the book reads (so far). See my notes as to why.
Also, I'm not fond of the whole "I hurt you because I love you" thing...which is weird because I do like BDSM stories. Well, not this alien version of BDSM (or at least the Domestic Discipline aspect, which is all I saw and where I waved off). Could be more later in the book that shows the actual exchange of power, but beating someone for disobeying - for making their own choices and acting as an individual - just smacks too close to the domestic violence I was entirely too familiar with. (Specifically, Nary isn't giving the other guy his submission. It reads like he's seen as weaker and as if it's expected. I don't care if the guy professes to love Nary beyond all reason and takes exquisite care of his "discipline" injuries. My ex did that, too. But I've been given someone's submission, and it's not the same. The SUB has all the power ...and that's not how this reads. Nary doesn't get to say no. Doesn't get to safeword - I don't even think there is one.)
So, yeah. I'm not the right audience for this. Other readers will be and that's great. Enjoy!!
But I did like the invasion & evasion in the first 1/3 of the book! Wish there'd been more of that...
This started strong - a post alien invasion earth and a bunch of survivors. It's a great premise. The environment was described very well - and there was tension about the future perfectly played with emotions for friends and family. After the three meet - things become much more lovey and, while that creates pretty good sexual moxy, it felt like a let down from the initial pressure and worry and grittier feel of the story. I'll set that, though, in the background that a captured slave story for me must contain some harsher elements so I feel the evolution of feelings or so there is contrast for good that will come later. I love redemption themes - but here there is too much distance from what happened. It's all told and you are removed from it other than the impact of the words. So I didn't feel this emotionally like I expected. I'm going on to read #2 because I really want to know what happens but I will go into it understanding this is a very tame story - focused quickly on feelings w/o any sort of harsher elements.
3.5 stars rounded up. The first half of this book was great! Loved the alien invasion part of the plot, and how people scrambled to get away and stay alive. Really good plot, especially for a romance novel, not aiming to be a full story sci fi novel. The second half of the book, the romance part, was not as convincing to me when it came to the very fast paced falling-in-love with scary aliens part.
OMG!!! I am almost speechless...I chose to read this because it was written by Morticia Knight. After about 15 pages I actually closed the book and rechecked the cover; twice; then went to the Amazon site and checked to see if the book that was shown there was the same book that I was holding in my hand. I could not believe that this was written by one of my absolute favorites; love and read anything they write authors. The very same author that I have bought/own and have read and reread numerous times...her Command & Care, Sin City, Club Sensation, In The name of The Father, Power Exchange And my all-time, read it four times now, favorite...Kiss of Leather... All fantastic series...every single book in them. I absolutely loved them and gave each book in the series 5 bright shining, well earned, stars. But this one (?)...I have no problem believing that that the aliens in this story have captured and are holding Ms. Knight captive somewhere and that one of those sneaky creepy little alien devils actually wrote this and put Ms. Knight's name on the cover! To say that there was "something missing" in this one for me would be the understatement of the year. At least this one was borrowed and not bought...so back to my all-time favorites. Oh...would someone please pay her ransom? I need many more like the ones in the series that I mentioned.
I received Slave for Two through the Goodreads Don’t Buy My Love program. This is the first book in the ‘Soul Match’ series. The characters are Chris, a human, and two aliens, Lasar and Nary. The story is told in third person from all three characters povs. The following review is my honest and unbiased opinion of the book which others may not agree with. It will also contain some spoilers but I’ll try to keep it to a minimum.
Right now, my favorite BDSM author is Morticia Knight. I have read and reviewed two of her other series, and when I saw this one, I was ecstatic. First of all it’s BDSM, so of course I’m going to love it. But sci-fi? With aliens? SWOON.
This book is a little different from her contemporary and historical BDSM series because it’s sci-fi, and that’s okay. I was glad it wasn’t identical because it would have felt strange. In this world the author has crafted, readers see Chris and his family shortly after Earth has been invaded by the Alasharians. These aliens are big, powerful beings that easily overwhelm Earth and settle in. Those who fight back are killed. Those who are smaller and weaker are taken away to be sex slaves.
While this might sound awful, the story builds and reveals much about the aliens. There have been misunderstandings and miscommunications from the beginning, not only between humans and Alasharians, but the aliens and their commanders. They aren’t all horrible, and they have a very good reason for seeking refuge on Earth. They just… did it the not so good way.
After Chris and his cousin Morgan are taken by the aliens, they find themselves at their mercy. However, when Nary sees Chris, he knows he is the one they must have and takes Chris and Morgan into his protection. What comes next is a journey of discovery and awakening love that might just save two species.
I enjoyed the alien culture Knight has built into this novel. The Alasharians have a fascinating approach to relationships that are built on BDSM principals. Each relationship, whether gay or straight, has a Dom and a sub. These two beings balance each other. While not all people find their perfect soul match, they try, and when they find them, the bond is unbreakable.
Chris is young, so I thought his reactions and dialogue were given in earnest. He’s terrified, and rightfully so. Same with Morgan. I look forward to seeing them grow. I also look forward to seeing Nary and Lasar grow with their newfound awareness of humans and themselves.
If you like Morticia Knight, reading this series will be a no-brainer. If you like sci-fi, give it a shot! I eagerly await the next book and wonder how it will be set up. Unlike the other two series I’ve read, this one does not feel like it will move on to a new character for the second book. Too much is left unfinished with Chris, Nary, and Lasar. I do, however, look forward to seeing more of Morgan!
I loved the beginning and thought this was a solid 4 stars right up to the part where Nary saved Chris. After that it kind of went downhill. Chis changed so quickly it didn’t seem true to his character.
DNF @ 64%. This book started off really slow, but I was hoping things would get more interesting when the MCs finally met. Unfortunately, it didn't. I didn't feel like any of the characters had much of a personality, and the book jumps straight to insta-attraction and soulmates and completely skips any hesitation or unwillingness Chris had earlier about becoming a sex slave to two aliens after having seen most of the human population be slaughtered by them. He seems to completely forget about his mother and sisters who are on the run, and his cousin who is being held captive next door. I didn't like the writing in this book and the way the story was executed just really didn't work for me.
As long as it all happens in fiction, I do like the occasional alien invasion with unexpected consequences. And while this story has a few elements that can be found in many of this subgenre – such as physically overpowering aliens, their desire to take humans as sex slaves, and a disdain for the much weaker and “emotionally challenged” humans – there are also some very intriguing differences. Some of them are only hinted at, but it looks as though they will become fundamental for the series’ development. That makes this first book not just entertaining and intriguing in its own right, but a very promising first volume, with hopefully many more to come.
After reading, I was left with the feeling that I wish I hadn't read this. This was a surprisingly disappointing read.
The tension is very low considering this is a story about aliens invading and taking humans as sex slave. Maybe it's because I like to read sci-fi following the same general plotline, but I felt this was executed poorly and was rather shallow in presentation. Basically, the aliens invade, overpower the humans, and are now in the process of completely suppressing (eradicating?) the humans. Any attempt to fight the aliens ends with the humans being killed. The only option is compliance.
Sure, we can skip over the whole alien invasion part and just go into the aftermath, which is essentially how the story starts. But the struggle of surviving outside of civilization is summed up to be a few people (Chris, his family, and neighbor and son pair) deciding to go south or not during the cold. Again, maybe it's because I've read other post-apocalyptic stories, but there was minimal tension or sense of danger. The worst thing that happened was Chris being mocked for being gay.
I kept waiting for them to get captured as the first part of the book was lacking, but their time in captivity was again, lackluster. Besides the mental anguish they faced, nothing happened, so I cared very little for their situation. Once Chris and his cousin are taken away, oh, it only went downhill from there.
Chris wasn't really likable. He was childish despite his supposed intellect and desire to protect his family. Reading his inner dialogues was physically cringy. He would also ignore everything and focus on sex despite all the importance the author tries to give to the setting around them.
It was hard to get a good grasp of the timeline. It felt like the date of the invasion kept changing. From one month prior to a week earlier to years earlier. I had no idea. It wouldn't matter much, but these references were stacked on to things like why Chris was a good leader or the pain of losing family.
Ugh, I really don't even want to think about this anymore, I can't complete the review.
There is much in this book to enjoy. Morticia Knight has written several books that involve couples (and trios) involved in the BDSM world, and writes with an understanding of the dynamics that make a relationship between a dominant and submissive partner work. With a deft hand she showcases not only the obedience Nary, the submissive Nasha, shows to his Ahna, Lasar, but the love and care that Lasar shows Nary. A simple scene involving a punishment Nary has brought on himself shows not only the erotic flashes I love in my romance novels, but the importance of choice. Nary has chosen those items that will be used on him as a result of disobeying his Ahna, and it’s those items Lasar uses. Lasar knows his partner well and does not push his Nasha beyond his limits, even when Nary invites him to. Following this scene of trust and respect is the loving aftercare of a dominant to his submissive. The concern Lasar shows is real, and so is the emotional bond between the two of them. A bond that soon becomes tested as a third partner is introduced into their lives.
Knight takes her time and lingers on the emotional impact such an event has. Chris’s bond with Nary is not the same as his relationship to Lasar. The dynamic shifts as Nary finds himself wanting to take a more dominant role with Chris, even as he desires to submit to Lasar. For Lasar, it’s not just taking Chris to bed, it’s also how his emotions towards Nary are affected and what this means to all of them. As Ahna, his duty is first and foremost to his soulbonded mate. How will that duty change when Chris, a human, shows signs of truly bonding not only with Nary, but Lasar as well?
Something a little different from Morticia Knight, something I enjoyed, found fascinating and a very interesting start to a new series.
When a planet of aliens need a new home they choose earth and they easily take over the planet when they arrive. They have been fed a pack of lies about the human race from their leader believing that humans are cold, have no compassion and need sex to sate them and keep them obedient.
If the aliens are lucky in life they find their mate and tie themselves in a bonding ceremony. Their relationships have a strong D/s dynamic that keeps them balanced. Lasar and Nary are one such soul matched pair and they have been awarded a human, think sex toy, for their hard work in taking over earth.
Chris has really been put through the wringer since the aliens invaded. His father is dead, his mother and sisters are relying on him to save them and they are stuck on a mountain with dwindling supplies. A trip with his cousin to restock food and clothing finds him trapped, caught in a net and then naked in alien cages. Life seems determined to go downhill even further when he gets on the wrong side of his alien guard but then in walks Nary – an alien who saves him from his fate but makes his situation very much more complicated.
Slave for Two is a HFN ending as it sets up the story for the rest of the series. A third soul match is unheard of, a soul match between humans and aliens is unheard of and Chris is very definitely not at all like the aliens have been led to believe. I am really looking forward to book 2 in this series and have my fingers crossed I won’t be waiting too long! I suspect there are some challenging times ahead for our unlikely trio.

I really enjoyed this for the most part. It just ends before a lot of questions are answered and I'm never crazy about that. But it's a series, so I can live with that for now. I liked Chris. Though he adjusts to the new world way to easily and way too quickly. He gets so caught up in Lasar and Nary that he forgets about everyone in his family and the danger they are/were in. I feel like between Chris and Morgan and Paul there was a lot of crying and whining. I don't know if there actually was but that's how it felt. And most of it fits with the story. It's just A LOT. It's very insta-love but given the series name, that's to be expected and it's handled fairly well. It makes sense in the world presented. I'm intrigued about the political fall out to come. I want to see Chris rescue his mom and sisters (maybe even Paul & his jerk father). I want to see what happens to Morgan.

It was an OK book, however i felt there was a lot left unexplained, i know that it will most likely be explained in book two however i think it made this book lack a little something.
I felt the book was a little slow then sort of sped up like it was being rushed.
I enjoyed the interaction between Chris and Nary but i wasn't sure about Lasar, there wasn't much of a connection.
Chris seemed to forget about everything except the aliens which i found a little weird, i mean he didn't seem bothered about his cousin or mother and sisters.
The book was written quite well this why i gave the 3 stars however i don't think i would read more in the series.
I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.
I absolutely adored this story. I have to say I was a bit apprehensive at the start of the story, but having read numerous Morticia Knight stories, I knew I just needed to stick it out and OMG, I am so glad that I did. There is so much to this story. I loved every facet of it!
The lies and deceit that took place even though it is not a normal thing for their breed had me on the edge of my seat and still keeps me there. I can't wait for the next book in this series because I need to know what happens next.
I can't wait to find out what happens with his family and Morgan.. not to mention the Nall and his wife... Oh so much mystery left, but so sexy and hot and such an amazing plot line to go with it!!
Here's what's not in the blurb: There's some extreme BDSM here that I was not at all expecting. And I don't normally shy away from BDSM, but there's something about they way it's played out and described here that just didn't work for me. Relationships where one partner actively punishes (not playfully) the other for "not listening" or "not doing what he's told" just don't work for me; it's not my thing and I don't find it romantic. I really had to push myself to get through to the end.
Read it a while ago but never got around to writing a review.
As with all of Morticia's works I didn't read the blurb when I got this and don't regret it. I loved all the little surprises! Alien invasion!! Not something I normally seek out but what the hell? It was awesome :)
I was hooked from the start and thoroughly enjoyed this unique story!
Ready to jump right into book #2.
Wonderful story-telling and awesome characters, all the way!!
Rating: 3 stars I bought this book on a whim. Sometimes it’s not about great literature, but just an entertaining story. While this wasn’t the best story that I have read, it did keep me entertained for the most part. It also made me curious to find out where this story is going so I’m definitely going to continue the series. While there were some aspects that weren't to my liking, I did enjoy it overall.
This is the first book in the series, and you can definitely feel it. I found the beginning way too long. We'll certainly meet some of these characters in the next books, but the first few chapters where Chris and his family are hiding and then Chris and Morgan go up the hill were way too long for me.
I was expecting a lot of sex from this book. Which is why I am surprised that there is actually not that much of it. Instead, there is a storyline that is even quite interesting. Unfortunately, none of the threads are fully resolved, and the book ends before any questions are answered. I expected the meeting with the Healer to help a bit, but unfortunately it didn't.
As I mentioned, there are fewer sex scenes in this book than you might expect in this sub-genre. There are basically only two scenes and one BDSM scene. I'm not a big BDSM fan so that wasn't a problem for me. This is the story of star-crossed lovers that includes mating. But I was a bit disappointed in even the mating itself, because it wasn't as passionate or full of emotions as I expected. Of course, all three guys feel a deep connection with each other and take great care of each other. But since they are only together for a day, it wasn't easy for me to believe it.
I don't know if I will read another book in this series. I guess I'm not that curious about what will happen next. If the next book fills any of my reading challenges, I might read it.
Interesting world with a tempting premise. I enjoyed the first book, but i'm really looking forward to reading the next books to find out what is happening.
Blog Post: http://lovebytesreviews.com/2016/09/2... Earth has been invaded by aliens from Alashar. The planet Alashar has been destroyed by a void, thus the reason for invading earth Once the invasion starts it doesn’t take the aliens long to decimate the world as we know it. One month after the first alien attack and Chris along with his mother, sisters, cousin and neighbors are hiding out in the mountains trying to survive any way they can. Chris ends up in a fight with homophobic bigoted neighbor and they agree to part ways. Chris and his cousin Morgan travel further up the mountain on a mission to get food and supplies for their family when they’re captured by the aliens. When Chris wakes up he discovers they’ve been taken to the slave cages. They’ve been stripped naked and now they have to have a shower, not that that’s a bad thing! Alasharians have always had a “Soul Match” they are either matched with a man or woman, it doesn’t make any difference to them. These matches are always comprised of an Ahna – a Dom and a Nasha – a submissive, Lasar and Nary have been Soul Matched for many years, Lasar is an Ahna and Nary is a Nasha. When Nary is tasked by Lasar to go to the slave market and choose a sex-slave for them he discovers that the slave he wants (Chris) is being dragged off by the slave merchant. Nary gets him to release Chris and then Nary makes the decision to take Morgan as well. Nary is almost beside himself with fear because he has disobeyed his Ahna, his Dom and he knows that he’s going to be punished when Lasar gets home. Lasar gets a shock when he meets Chris and discovers that everything they had been told about humans is nothing like what he is experiencing with his Orshana – slave. Lasar is horrified when the moment he touches Chris he starts to feel the same as he feels for Nary, this is not supposed to happen. As they work through the differences between Alasharians and humans and Lasar talks with his Nall – King, his brother-in-law and discovers that they have all been lied to. Lasar then has to try and work out what is happening to both him and Nary and the fact that there has never been a triad Soul Match for Alasharians before. As the first book in a new series Slave For Two is a very good start! If there was anything negative about this book it would be that the story ended far too soon. I’m now going to be haunting Morticia to find out when the next instalment is ready to be published! You really need to read this book!!
I was given a copy of this book free by the author in exchange for an unbiased review.
When Earth is invaded by aliens who quickly kill and subdue the populace, Chris is left looking after his mother, two sisters and young cousin. After he is captured, his goal quickly becomes to survive. Many of the humans who were captured have become war prizes for the alien invaders, to be used as sex slaves. Apparently the high command has circulated a story that humans are aggressive and vicious, with no redeeming value, and that sex can calm them. Chris is taken by a soul matched couple, Lasar and Nary, who have a d/s kind of relationship. He is quickly confused since they treat him with kindness and he finds himself liking them. How could he feel this way about beings from the same race that have killed so many humans, including members of his family?
I grew up on sci fi/fantasy books, so I jumped at the chance to read book one in this new series by Morticia Knight. However, my expectations may have been too high. I felt that the world building was not enough for the scope of what was presented. In addition, there were too many new concepts that didn't seem to be adequately explained in the short amount of pages. To be fair, this is the first book of a series, and perhaps more could be explained in future stories. However, the short length made this book feel like it ended in a cliffhanger, because many plot lines were not finished. In addition, the romance was too insta-love for me. I would give it 2.5 stars, rounded up because I see promise. However, I'm not sure that I would continue with the rest of the series.

First of all I have to say I'm not a huge sci-fi, alien book reader but when I read the blurb and saw that it was available for review I figured I'd give it a go. I was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed this book. We meet the human MC, Chris, after the alien invasion has taken place and he is attempting to take care of his mom and his sisters along with his cousin, Morgan who have survived along with him. Chris and Morgan are captured by the aliens and are to be sex slaves. Lasar and Nary have been a soul match for a while now with Lasar being the Ahna (master), Nary being the Nasha (sub) and have decided to add a 'sex slave' into their relationship. Nary goes to look at the humans that are available and ends up saving Chris and Morgan from the slave merchant and guards there. Both, Lasar and Nary are shocked to learn that Chris is their soul mate as well. I liked how Chris's relationship with Nary and Lasar progressed. Chris's meeting with the Soul healer was funny. I'm looking forward to the next book. I'm hoping Morgan gets his own pairing and they save Chris' mom and sisters. I want to find out more about Lasar's sister and her husband.

3.5 stars
Chris and his surviving family are hiding from the aliens that have invaded Earth. When he and his cousin are captured they realize they are to be sex slaves. They are saved by Nary, Nasha (submissive) to Lasar’s Anha (dominant). But when strong emotional ties between the three bloom, they realize their coming together will have significant impact for both of their species.
This was a definite cliffhanger, even though the story had an endpoint. Too many were issues left unresolved. What about the invasion was wrong? What happens to the cousin? The missing family? How does their threesome affect the takeover? The unanswered questions unfortunately left a bad taste in my mouth.
The world building was fairly good, and the few alien terms used were easy enough to pick up on. Although the use of humanoid aliens is fairly tame, there were a few interesting body characteristics that made it interesting. The sex was mundane, the supposed BDSM mostly nonexistent except for one scene followed by a lot of bowing and scraping.
Book two is a highly probable read, but mostly so I can get my answers.
I received this book from the author through the GoodReads M/M Romance group's, Don't Buy Me Love program, in exchange for a fair and honest review.
I'm torn as to what to write about this book....
First and foremost I have to say that every time that I read Ahna, Stitch came to mind because Ohana means family and it's so similar.
It's definitely the beginning of a series though I'm left with the feeling it's more the first installment of a serial. Honestly, I hesitate to refer to this as a romance. I would have preferred more balance between the characters interactions and the world building.
While I liked the characters I must admit that I skimmed here and there throughout. I am glad that we were given some time in each of the MC's POV otherwise I don't think that I would have liked it all. As it is, I want to read the next installment to find out what happens to not only Chris, Nary & Lasar but also to Morgan and Earth. I wish that this had been longer and not ended on a cliffhanger. I intensely dislike cliffhangers.
