Little Dancer by Brianna Hale popped my DDlg cherry, and it was everything I hoped it would be! Before now, I honestly had no interest in reading a romance with this type of kink, because it’s just not something I particularly find appealing. I’m down for bdsm romance any day, but it’s the “daddy” part that turns me off. That being said, I am a curious person by nature. I wanted to see if reading this book might show me something about this particular kink that I didn’t already know or help me understand the appeal of it to others. I’m nothing if not open-minded!
It didn’t take me long to realize that I had chosen the perfect book for my introduction into the DDlg lifestyle. The heroine, Abby Williams, is a professional dancer that has no idea she is anything other than vanilla. What she does know is that things that other people leave behind in childhood still bring her comfort. She wants to sleep with her stuffed animals and color for fun which are things that the parents she lives with don’t understand. They don’t approve of her chosen profession either despite the fact that she is talented. Abby goes about her days just trying to live her dream and hopes that one day they will be proud of her.
The owner of the theater where she works, Rufus Kingsolver, makes Abby realize that she likes a bit of discipline when he bends her over and spanks her ass in his office. The fact that she was dripping wet when he was done was a surprise to her, but not to him. He saw what she needed, and he gave it to her. Slowly, he starts inducting Abby into a lifestyle she never knew existed, one where women like her are called littles and men like Rufus are called daddy. A whole new world is opened up to her, and she has never felt more understood or at peace with who she is. Everything seems to finally make sense, and she has a renewed sense of self-confidence ....that is until something happens that makes her question everything.
Little Dancer is as entertaining as it is informative. Not only did it capture my attention and keep it, but it taught me a few things, too. It felt kind of like it was DDlg for beginners. The story explained a lot about the lifestyle itself, why it might appeal to some people, the way those individuals might struggle to understand their urges or desires in the beginning, and what it might feel like for them to not be understood or accepted by the people they care about.
This is my first time reading Brianna Hale's writing, and I will definitely be reading more of her work in the future. Her writing style is engaging, she made me feel for the characters, and the romance between Abby and Rufus was sweet and steamy. If you are on the fence about reading this type of book for the reasons that I was, or you are just interested in learning more about the DDlg lifestyle, I highly recommend this book to you! If you already love these types of stories, I wouldn't hesitate to one-click this one!

5 Baby Girl Stars ⭐️
Brianna Hale is my unicorn author. There is nothing she has written that I have disliked thus far and there is no book she has released that hasn't captivated me. Little Dancer would have to be one of my favourites by this writer. It exposed me to a world of daddy kink that I thought I could never relate to, let alone enjoy as much as I did.
This is an endearing journey of a young woman Abby who hasn’t found her place in the world. She is adrift and even her own parents don’t understand her. Dancing is her passion; it’s the only thing Abby has a connection to until the one man that acknowledges her for who she is.
Rufus Kingsolver is the owner of a West End theatre in London. He is a perfectionist when it comes to his productions and demands the absolute best. But he instantly feels an affinity to Abby. His instinct is to protect her, and to see her flourish by all means….
"He’s treating me like a naughty child and I feel myself sinking into an uncomplicated place where I don’t have to think about having to be capable or a grown-up."
It is a story of passion, love and acceptance. It is beautifully written with descriptions of the theatre world that you has you living through it as the reader. There is a lovely slow burn that makes Rufus and Abby’s journey believable and understandable. It is filled with spanking kink, a dominant and his sub and an uncommon relationship of a daddy and his baby girl. This story is not for all. But if you are not opposed to this trope, there is real beauty in this love story and their dynamic and why it works.
"My heart should be racing and there should be tears in my eyes after the encounter with Mr. Kingsolver, but I hear only the soft, growling warmth of that good girl. I’m grounded. I’m calm."

Rufus Kingsolver was the theater owner known to be a hardass. When he saw Abby, he knew she had a potential not only as his dancer but also his sub and he believe he could shape her into his perfect little girl.
I like how Rufus helped Abby in getting her life together. He was attentive and patient towards her. But as a Dom, I think he was too soft and need to be more authoritative.
Like a typical little girl (as in legit one, not the kinky one lol!) Abby felt safe surrounded by all things pink and fluffy. It was sweet and cute. She knew what she wanted but was afraid to stand up for herself. I like seeing how started to be more assertive as the story progressed.
I like how the book had a somewhat serious/sad moment. It helped break the sugary sweet feel. I was hoping for more smuttines though. I'd love to actually see her training session instead just told it happened especially considering she was clueless about the lifestyles.
Little Dancer is an adorable story of a girl finding her true self and the man who helped her to her full potential. It would appeal to those who prefer a lighter side of Daddy kink.

I’m a little disturbed that like Abby, I also love strawberry milk and Pocky sticks 😳. I better whip out my red riding crop before I start liking pink and fluffy shit haha! 😂

LITTLE DANCER was the first book Brianna published with Carina Press out of three books that all revolve around Daddy/little kink. I gave the other two books five stars (well-deserved, imo). SOFT LIMITS and PRINCESS BRAT were both amazing. This one lost me when the hero calls the heroine into his office, ostensibly to critique her performance, and then just throws her over his lap and starts spanking. I get that this is a fantasy and we're to implicitly understand that the heroine is into it, but I just kept thinking, "Sexual harassment, much?"
Rufus Kingsolver can exit stage left.

What a beautifully written, short and smutty, DDlg read!
If you don't know what DDlg is, that's "Daddy Dom" and "little girl"—and I've read quite a bit in this genre, but none have explained the DDlg relationship so nicely!
So if you've never read this sub-genre of Erotic Romance before, but are interested, I would defiantly recommend reading Little Dancer as an introduction to DDlg.
Abby and Rufus' DDlg relationship in this book was so real and raw, truly complimenting the beauty and trust of a Daddy Dom/little girl relationship.
This was my first book by this author, Brianna Hale, but it will NOT be my last. Her writing style is very endearing, and her characters are developed enough to steal your heart—just like Abby and Rufus did to mine in Little Dancer.
He strokes his thumb over my cheek and it comes away glittery. I’m dropping glitter all over him. “I missed you, little one.”
���I’m so sorry I caused us so much pain and I said Persephone and I wasn’t brave enough.”
“You’re the bravest person I know, babygirl. Look at all that you’ve done.” He pulls a tissue out of his pocket and wipes my tears, and then puts it over my nose. “Blow.” I do. The tissue comes away glittery, too.
“I’m getting glitter all over you,”I say with a shaky laugh.
He presses his forehead against mine. “Please get glitter all over me,”he whispers. “Drown me in it.”
Little Abby was adorable, and surprising relatable. I loved reading from her POV; as throughout the book, she blossomed into who she was, and accepted it in spite of the world's view of her and her relationship with her Daddy Dom, Rufus...
Ah, Rufus. Better known as "Mr. Kingsolver". He instantly came of as fudging INTENSE. Intense in a really scary good way. (And I say "fudging" because I know he would spank me hard for using naughty language. *wink wink*)
Anyways...he was a dark, harsh presence in Abby's life that made for some very smutty times as she was punished (oh so nicely) in his office at the Theater.
"Mad? No, I'm not mad. You took your punishment so well. Would you like your reward?"
But what I reallllly fell in love with, was deeper into the story, when Rufus' hard exterior softened toward Abby, and there were all these sugar-sweet moments between them. It was positively adorable...and smutty—can't forget the smut.
My only wish was that I would've had the chance to get into Rufus' head, read from his experience how he fell into his and Abby's forbidden relationship. I think the romance would've been stronger at the beginning with his POV, but even so, the story wasn't lacking without it. Just a wish of mine ... What were you thinking, Mr. Kingsolver? I will never know... *pouts*
But all in all, this was a stellar read from Brianna Hale—and I would for sure recommend it to those who want a novella that has both heat and heart, rough and soft, sweet and smutty.

Ah, littles. My personal last frontier in the daddy kink. Do I get it? No. Is it fascinating? Most definitely. Is it sexy? Now that’s the question isn’t it.
Sleeping in the attic with all your childhood stuffies ... heartbreaking.
I think my only real concern with the Daddy/little dynamic is the lack of consent.
You know I went in with a lot of trepidation but even if that lifestyle is not for me, it’s not hard to understand why it would work well for others. I’m excited to see how things progress between Abby and Mr Kingsolver.
Way to handle that dubious consent, well done Ms Hale. I like Rufus’ full candor, it’s good that he’s holding nothing back.
Funny how worried I was about consent and he’s the most considerate Dom ever.
The moment he mentioned the movie Secretary, upped how much I like this. That’s an amazing movie.
Omfg I just want to shake her!
In the end it’s a coming of age story. It was beautiful experiencing Abby’s growth. It was all really very sweet and he’s so incredibly lovely. And I finally understand the appeal of being a little.

Hands down i love Rufus.. he is by far the best hero/daddy i have read.. he is darkish, protective and honestly he wasn't slap happy lol which is awesome!! when you first meet him be acts abit cold but that's just a front, and the way he explains to Abby what a daddy dom is was just perfect. As for Abby she was a good character to plus she wasn't bratty and annoying i love that, she took her time learning and researching on this kink (bonus points for that) and she loved dancing and is a great one to, she was alittle embarrassed when her folks found out but honest i would to if my mom saw my text message saying
"Hows daddys fuck toy." Cuz dang that is something that would turn me red. Lol
Why not a perfect score.. i wish we had a epilogue to know what happened in the future and abit more sex.

I absolutely love this book!! Brianna has written an amazing story!! I'm usually not the biggest fan of Daddy/Little girl tope but this was is fantastic!!! Abby and Rufus are such a special couple!! I Love them so much!!! You can really tell that Rufus loves her and only wants the best for her. Abby wants to be happy and Rufus is the only one who makes her feel happy with who she is!! They are so wonderful!! I loved this book so much and I can't wait to read it again!

WELL, HELLO!! Welcome to the judgment-free zone! If you are just the tiniest bit curious about the DDlg genre (that's "Daddy Dom/little girl"), then please enjoy this absolutely delicious confection by Brianna Hale. I read this book in a few hours and it was one of the most heart-warming, sexy, taboo and romantic stories I've ever read.
Abby is a young dancer who comes alive when onstage. She can barely cope with the realities of day-to-day life, but feels completely at ease when she is dancing at the Palais Theatre. Still living with her parents, she is shy, innocent and very inexperienced.
When I’m onstage, and all there is, is the music and the sweet burn of exertion and the glare of the hot lights, I’m me.
Imagine Abby's surprise (and delight!) when the handsome, stern and very bossy theatre owner Rufus Kingsolver takes an interest in her.
Oh boy. Mr. Kingsolver. He is good at reading people and he knows just what Abby needs. This book should come with a warning label because it is that hot. Abby finally feels that someone understands her and all of her odd habits. She acts like a little girl in many ways, because it soothes and comforts her, and she is PERFECT for Rufus!

I really enjoyed the story Abby & Rufus.
I have no first hand understanding of a DD/lg relationship, but I have read a couple of books in this genre, which by not means makes me an expert, but I do know what I enjoy about these stories.

I have no first hand understanding of a DD/lg relationship, but I have read a couple of books in this genre, which by not means makes me an expert, but I do know what I enjoy about these stories.

Ok so...sigh where to begin??
First..The is my first book from this author.
Second...I’m completely new to this Daddy Dom/Little Girl lifestyle.
With that being said I don’t think these kinds of read is for me...let me tell you why.
The main female Abby is 20 yrs old and she acts like she’s 10. This women could not make an adult decision if her life depended on it..she’s gets stressed and overwhelmed lol For example..her parents are selling their home and she has to move out and find an apartment. So what does she do instead of looking for one..she goes to the movies to watch a cartoon, eats ice cream with lots and lots of sprinkles and shops for coloring books... girl bye!! I wanted to smack her with a coloring book ..ughh!!
Then she starts a relationship with the owner of the theatre she dances for and she starts to find herself in this Daddy Dom/Little Girl situation. Aside from this kind of thing not being my thing I didn’t feel the chemistry between these two even tho they became very close and eventually fall in love. This whole book just wasn’t my thing. Now don’t get it twisted ..I didn’t give it two stars because I just didn’t understand this lifestyle.. I gave it two stars because the writing wasn’t that great, the characters were a bit boring and one dimensional, and for all the kinky fuckery that Rufus was doing to Abby I didn’t find it sexy in the least #SorryNotSorry

Abby Williams is twenty-two and a virgin, she also acts like a big kid and loves Ballet. She is busy dancing at a ballet academy. The only time she feels at home is up on the stage, but with the pressures of having to change her home lifestyle, she makes a mistake. Abby is then summoned to the director's office - Rufus Kingsolver. There is something about Abby's innocence that draws Rufus in. This book then moves onto the world of BDSM with a strong focus of Daddy Doms and Submissive Baby Play. I have to admit for me, I find it weird and find Daddy Dom a turn-off for me, but it seemed to work, and I was familiar with the child submissive as I watched a few years ago a documentary about a girl whose kink was dressing like and acting like a baby. D/s with light age play. Abby's abilities and behaviors reflected a low IQ. She didn't have a lot of life skills and wasn't able to live independently. She was very easily manipulated too. Rufus was a sweet boyfriend but not the best Dom. Rufus pushed personal and legal boundaries with Abby at the beginning. He did redeem himself further on. The D/s wasn't SSC. Rufus gave Abby a safeword, but he did not discuss limits. Abby blindly went along with everything. The sex scenes came across mechanical and didn't sizzle.

The Good. Literally everything. But honestly Rufus and Abby are so freaking sweet and sexy. I want to re-read this book again immediately. The level of depth and growth behind these characters was unreal for such a short read. They were so REAL. And the progression of their relationship was really natural. Just a fantastic read overall.
The Bad. Nothing, unless you count me wanting more of these two.
The Smutty. SO. HOT. The sexual tension was off the charts. Like I would never read this in public because I would definitely be blushing. I want more (after a cold shower or two).

The author writes complex relationships with flawed characters who are hurting in someway and coming together helps them find themselves. This book is in a similar vein but the kink the author uses here is just not for me.
The hero was of course perfect - which is par for the course in such BDSM romances which are really about the heroine’s arc. The heroes have a about preternatural ability to intuit everything.
I found the heroine super annoying (and the explosion of pink made me want to gag). However l am going with three stars because I acknowledge that the writing was good and the author takes time to explore the relationship dynamics. Even if the dynamics are not my cup of tea.
Overall, I liked it.

This book was a suggestion from a friend who knows I love a good DD/lg story.
It tells the story of a girl named Abby who loves to dance more than anything in life and who struggles with adulthood. She lives with her parents who constantly remind her that she needs to make money, pays bills and be a funcional member of society aka being a ballerina is NOT it as they keep telling her.
I actually felt bad for Abby. It is not easy to be an adult especially if your parents enabled you most of your life which was her case anyways. All she wants to do is to dance and she is really innocent in terms of liking Disney movies, eating candy and coloring books. She's a lg at heart without knowning it and mostly importantly, without her DD.
Enter Rufus. He is the director of the theather where Abby dances and he has seen her dance and make mistakes he has zero tolerance for. He sees she is a submissive and needs someone to take control so she can bloom.
Rufus is hot and he knows exactly what she needs:
Initially Abby struggles to understand what kind of relationship Rufus wants but she knows she's never been happier. He knows her desires and all his commands centers her in a way nothing ever did. Little by little Rufus explains to her what a DD/lg relationship entails.
One text though ruins everything and the happiness Abby was feeling crumbles bc she needs to break things with Rufus (This part I really thought it was BS and got really mad at Abby for letting everything spiral the way it did but I'm only a lg at heart).
Even with Rufus suffering, he knows Abby needs to own her lg heart and be true to herself in order to be happy and then have a relationship with him.
It's a HEA so of course she gets a grip and fights for herself and of course Rufus.
Overall, I really liked this book. It addressed the DD/lg in a very beautiful way though I'd like the sex to be steamier. 4 stars.

This book made me remember why I love, love BDSM books. They are always safe reads and the couples have the best and most trusting relationships. I always think that I’m the ultimate princess, but damn if it’s not Abby. I love the way Rufus treated her, these two needed each other in a way that I couldn’t possibly explain. Abby needed Rufus to take care of her and he needed too. For me these two were relationship goals all the way. They were sweet, but scorching ass hot too. Pretty sure that Rufus is one of the top dirty talkers ever....yummy.
There was just a little break for these two, because Abby couldn’t figure out how to tell her parents about the lifestyle she wanted, but it was just a few weeks. Still broke my heart though, they were both so miserable without each other. Like I said these two needed each other so much. She was daddy’s little princess and he literally treated her like the princess he claimed her to be. This was my first Brianna Hale book and I just can’t figure out what the hell took me so long to read it. I absolutely loved, loved, loved, loved, loved this book.....so damn good.

Well let me tell you this book was not at all what I expected!! I read LD just from seeing the cover. I hadn't read the blurb so I thought it might be a sweet, romantic read. Oh boy was I way off the mark.

While this book is based around the LG/DD lifestyle it is also about personal growth and acceptance of ones self and of others. These two connect quickly and deeply but they go through a situation that drives a wedge between them. Can these two find a way to make others understand their lifestyle and fund their way back to each other?
This was a quick, naughty read. While it may not be for everyone, I found it very informative and I thorax enjoyed reading it.

I have to admit, I was a bit nervous to read Little Dancer because of how much I loved Princess Brat. But, since I couldn't wait any longer for Soft Limits, I gave it a read. And, I'm glad I did because really liked it!! It's a great introduction to dd/lg relationships and I really enjoyed. Definitely give it a read, especially if you are NOT into daddy dom and little girl relationships/ that genre, even if it turns out not to be for you, it will help you understand them better and gain perspective. Brianna Hale, you never dissapoint. 💖

What a fucking disappointment. Like the author really ruined this book along with my mood.
So it starts out fine. It could have been better and their relationship could have progressed more naturally but I can let it slide. Overall I really like it and it’s nice until the author makes the most unnecessary plot move EVER. The mom of course sees their dirty texts. Like why? It was so fucking useless and was really just a way for the plot to move forward. Then our dumb as fuck h distances herself from her Daddy because… honestly I don’t even know why. Probably because she was just a weak little bitch (I’m so mad which is why I’m so rude at the moment).
I really wished he wouldn’t take her back because I just can’t support a spineless main character. I was prepared to give this three or four stars but not anymore as you can see. I also want to point out some other things that really bothered me about this book because this is my rant and I need to get it all out.
How can Abby have this diet. None of what she eats is healthy and as an athlete on such a high level as her she need to keep her body healthy and nourished. It seemed too far fetched that she wasn’t really tired and slow because she lacked the right nourishment.
Also why is she so useless. Like if I went to an abandoned island and only had her with me I’d just make her swim back home. She’s literally the definition of dead weight. She is so naive and knows how to do absolutely zero things except for ballet. I get that she may be a little but that does not mean she has to have the experience and knowledge of a child.
I’m overall just disappointed and so angry that I began to cry. This book does not deserve all of these four and five star ratings.

Oh man, I thought this was going to be a super quick daddy kink story but it ended up being so much more.
Rufus... I didn’t like him at first. He’s the owner of the theater where Abby is a dancer and he seems like a jerk at first. He yells at her, then he has her come to his office after hours and spanks her with no warning whatsoever. Then the next time he drags her into his office by her hair (the book literally describes him doing that) and whips her with a belt while her hands are tied behind her back with a rope. No explanation and she had no clue about the lifestyle before he did this to her. Kinda put me off, honestly, even if she said her body enjoyed it. I still feel like she should’ve been warned beforehand or at least consented before he did some shit like that.
Finally when he took her to dinner, somewhat explained things to her and she agreed that he’d be her Daddy, I felt relieved. And then he started being sweet to her after that. No crazy spanking or belts. Go figure.
After all the drama with Abby’s parents and her withdrawing from Rufus, I seriously felt my heart break. Mostly for Rufus. Shiiiit, now I’m feeling bad for the dude that I just hated early in the book. Hah. But really, I literally had tears.

4.5 stars. For a novella length read, I loved this book. I don't read much daddy dom, but this couple was perfect together and the heroine was a great little. The author managed to show her strength when she needed it, but also her vulnerability and inherent need for being a little without belittling her. That's a tough thing to do and the reason I rarely read this trope, because so few authors can pull it off well. I would love to see another book on this couple because the novella ended before I was ready to leave this couple.

Can't say I'm a huge lover of the dd/lg kink but there's something about this book that drew me in. Mostly I was just reading it to be curious but I have to say I enjoyed the relationship between Rufus and Abby. There was acceptance and patience and of course love! I was feeling very disappointed in Abby's response to the bit of drama that happens closer to the end but I can understand what was going through her head and mostly I just hurt for everyone involved. I was glad that Rufus was as patient as he was though so that we get the nice HEA that I always expect lol.
