Truly this is a 3.5 star-ish book but the last 1.5 hours was pretty intense and good. It felt like the whole book was leading up to the last 2 hours of the book.
The great thing about kindle unlimited is that you can get audio books for free too, so this is one of those books I had nothing to lose to try.
The narrator wasn’t my favorite. Her voice was fine, she fit the heroine because she sounded older, BUT she pauses way too many times. She reads at a nice pace, but she pauses too long in between sentences. It did bother me a bit and it did hinder some of my listening experience. Sad and true.
The book starts out okay. I felt like nothing really happened for the first 4 hours. There was a lot of detail given while you are listening. I don’t think I would have enjoyed this book had I read it, instead of listening to it, because I tend to like descriptive books in audio format.
Allye is a unique girl, she has two different color eyes and a stripe of hair that is white. Because of this, it makes her the perfect target.
Gray was once a seal and now is an accountant? I know right? He also does private rescue work? Anyhow. I liked him. He was hardcore, but cool.
I thought Allye was kind of annoying at times, but overall she was okay. I didn’t see the chemistry between Gray and Allye, I thought they were good as friends. I found the last two hours of the story the best because I felt like there was a plot. Most of the book was Allye and Gray getting to know each other, which is fine, but not usually my cuppa.
Would I binge read this author? No. If she had another book on kindle unlimited with free audio would I listen to it? Sure. ...more
Times likes these I love having Kindle Unlimited. Not only I can get the ebook free, I can get the audio free as well. Also, the b4.5 SUPER CUTE STARS
Times likes these I love having Kindle Unlimited. Not only I can get the ebook free, I can get the audio free as well. Also, the book is on sale and the audio is pretty cheap. I love getting a good audio book.
First off, Carly Robins is an excellent female narrator. I don’t hear too many books with her voice, but I love hearing it. I love her voice is high pitched, it sounds so cute and adorable and young. I love her voice transitions and her acting is on par. I will have to stalk her audio page. Alexander Cendese isn’t my favorite male narrator, but he’s growing on me. I love his voice it’s deep, but not too deep, but there’s something the way he speaks it’s so informal, like he’s talking like a frat guy. I don’t know how to explain it. But like I said it grows on me.
I think the best way to read this book is through audio. You get all the feels for the story and I seriously was grinning from ear to ear the moment I hit play.
There wasn’t anything special about the storyline or the characters, but it was just a cute book. Sometimes you need that right?
Fawn runs into Levi and realizes he’s the new guy across the hall from her. Fawn is adorable. She’s a school teacher with a good heart. She’s a little goofy and says what she thinks out loud. I love her sisters and seriously her family steals the show for the book.
Levi is the type of guy I LOVE to read in a book. First off, I love reading a book where the Hero chases after the Heroine and he’s always there for Fawn. I love their little cute interactions and like Fawn, I love his family. They really do steal the show for the book.
I can’t really explain what made the book so good for me. I think it’s because it was just cute and the angst was low. It was an easy book to listen to and it put me in a good mood the whole time. I will 100% listen to the rest of the series. ...more

I’m on a parent binge and trying new authors. Don’t judge a book by it’s cover. For some reason I feel like the cover didn’t match the book. Sure the book was light-hearted but it wasn’t like LOL funny, but anyhow, it was overall cute. There was some steam, but it wasn’t the focal point of the story. I kind of wished it was! But the book was adorable.
Spencer is a single mama to three kids to two different dads. I know. I judge too. But she’s doing the best she can do. Sure the book starts out with her describing her job as a sex therapist and that’s really not the story of the book. I thought it was and because of that I put the book down for a few weeks. It’s about a single mama losing her job and going home to lick her wounds.
Cooper is Spencer’s ex from high school and it a second chance kind of story. What would you do if you could make it again with your first love? What I really enjoyed about the book was that you knew the heart of the story. You knew why Cooper and Spencer broke up and you know that Cooper doesn’t like kids.
I’ll be honest and say I didn’t like Cooper too much. I found him too realistic. He wasn’t that swoon worthy kind of Hero, he was just a regular guy and where there isn’t anything wrong with that, I don’t really care of for it in the book world.
I liked the chemistry and banter between Spencer and Cooper, I did find Spencer a bit bitchy and kind of guarded. At times I wanted her to calm down, but overall, I love my single parent books so much. And it hit the right spot. ...more

I was in a single parent mood and For the Love of English hit the spot. This is my first book by A.M. Hargrove and it won’t be the last. I really like the pace and flow of this one. I also love all the steam! I read it in on sitting.
Beckley is a single dad to a six year-old. Her name is English and she is 100% adorable. I love it when it’s a single dad and a cute little girl. I also like it when the child is sweet.
Sheridan is a teacher and English is her student. English is a quirky little girl and slowly starts to steal Sheridan’s heart. But her Dad is something else.
I really like the tension between Beckley and Sheridan it was so funny and kind of over the top at times. I think they run into each other like five times. How accurate is that? But it was cute so I went with it. I like how Beckley kind of ignores her and tries to stay away from Sheridan but is always there when she needs saving.
I love the relationship between English and Sheridan and it was just all cute and warm fuzzy feelings. When Beckley’s ex comes into the picture it adds some tension to the story.
Overall, it was a cute and sweet single parent book. There are some parts you kind of wonder how accurate that could be, but I liked the low angst feel of the book. I recommend! ...more

I was on the hunt for a single daddy/ mommy book and Justice took the edge off. Is the cover butt ugly? Yes, the guy looks like a total A-hole and the ciggy is 100% stupid, but never judge a book by the cover!
The book starts off with a bang and it sucked me into the story. From the first chapter we understand why Justice and his brothers are the way they are and why they are so close. Each book will be about the brother.
This is Justice and Ryanne’s story. Justice is the bad-boy in town and is known to be a man-whore with his brothers. Meaning they like to share women, gasp! Don’t worry, the book isn’t too kinky, it just skirts around the edges of it.
Ryanne and Justice have one night of passion and boom she’s pregnant and running away. It was hard for me to understand where Ryanne was coming from. I really did hate she left, but it was the plot right?
So it’s years later, Justice finds out and there the story begins.
I love the little girl and I love the relationship that Justice has with her, that is why I gobble up single parent books like crazy. I love the sexual tension between Ryanne (even though I hate her name) and it made the book like wicked hot.
Overall, this wasn’t a bad first book for me. I do hate that in the author notes she doesn’t know when the next book will be written only because if she takes too long to write it, I will forget a lot of the stuff and a lot of town stuff happens. There’s a lot of characters to follow. I will have to write notes or something. I hope the author recaps a lot in the second book.
I ignored the overall reviews. Usually I don’t, but a few of my favorite reviewers gave Highland Wolf Pact a decent review so I decided to 3 Meh Stars

Oh, so embarrassing, but I did search for erotica books on amazon and this series popped up. This is NOT an erotica book. It’s a NA with a one or two steamy scenes, but it’s a long book and a lot of descriptive writing happens before you even get to steamy stuff. I was really disappointed in that.
On that note, I liked the idea of a PNR book mixed with historical fiction. The premise of the book had promise but the execution was lacking.
The book was too slow and dragged too much to get to the good bits. I found myself skimming the overly descriptive parts just to get to the action. I also didn’t care for the wolf / English politics and oh goodness there were pages and pages of that. I just didn’t care!
I think I went wrong with this book by looking for smut and I got something else. I think this book would have been better in audio and if I wasn’t in the mood for smut.
I just don’t think this series will be for me. ...more

The book was promising. I liked the premise. The beginning was hot AF and I was really into it, then I got into the heart of the story.
There were just way too many problems with the couple.
The book was too long
The book had angst, where it was really annoying a lot of problems could have been solved if they just talked to each other.
I hated the storyline of a “secret” oh my god, to hear the inner monologue of the Heroine talking about how she needed to justify in hiding her secret was just driving me bonkers.
I fucking hated the Hero. Cameron is the worst kind of person and I’m sorry, but when he (view spoiler)[tried to take full custody to punish her (hide spoiler)] I gave upon them and I started to skim.
I’m not sure if I can try another book, because at the end of the day, the writing style was just not for me.

It took me about a month to finish this book. I picked it up several times, but it was hard grasping my attention.
I’m disappointed I didn’t like this one as much as everyone did. I’m not sure why. I found mostly the book boring, except for a few scenes. I think the few scenes kept me reading, but overall, I found myself stop reading because of the slow parts.
Sophia and Rebel are continuing to work on their relationship. I like that they are together and it is kind of me against the world kind of book, but oh man, does the author know how to drag out the story. It took a good chunk of the book before we got anywhere.
I’m not fully sold on the idea of Sophia and Rebel. I just don’t see it and it’s a shame. I think Sophia is pretty ordinary and she can be frustrating at times, likes to complain a lot. I find Rebel kind of meh. I don’t really see him as a leading Hero. He was in the military and went to MIT? It’s so out there, what other traits can you tack on?
On top of that, the huge part of the book is the MC politics. I really didn’t care for that and I think that is what I found boring.
Overall, I was pretty underwhelmed with the book. I’m not sure if I continue the series. If I do, I might do an audio version since I tend to like slower books in audio format. ...more

Mariana Zapata has the BEST AUDIO BOOKS EVER! I’m slowly making my way through all of the Marina Zapata books because they are addictive and oh so good. If you want a non-stop slow burn read then these books are for you.
Callie Dalton is one of my top favorite female narrators. I only wished she did more books because I have a feeling I’m going to run out. I LOVE her voice and she is one of the main reasons why I only do Marina Zapata books via audio. I love her voice transitions, her acting and her voice is so adorable. You could seriously listen to it all day (and sometimes I do).
The most popular book by Mariana Zapata is Kulti I think. I loved Kulti. I’m not a big sports fan and the fact the heroine is a female soccer player doesn’t really grab my attention, but the thing with Mariana Zapata books is that she can write about anything and it always sucks me in.
Sal is in a soccer team and her team is getting a new assistant coach. The new assistant coach is world famous retired soccer player Kulti.
I love the tension and chemistry between Sal and Kulti. It’s an enemies to friendship to lovers kind of romance and I simply love it! There’s a slight age gap and I think it only makes the book better.
Kulti isn’t known to be warm and fuzzy and so when he shows up to assist not everyone is happy for him to be there including himself.
I love how down to earth Sal is. She loves playing and plays hard, but she’s a typical girl with bills to pay and an awesome family that mostly supports her.
The best part about these books is the romance. It may not be in your face romance, but the subtle hints here and there is what I love so much about these reads.
I love the cover and the idea of the book but to me it fell a little flat. I was looking for a quick quirky funny read. The book is light but 3 Stars
I love the cover and the idea of the book but to me it fell a little flat. I was looking for a quick quirky funny read. The book is light but i wished it was more humorous but that’s me.
I felt like the book was 20-30% too long. The first half of the book dragged a bit for me and the second half picked up a little too quickly for me so the flow was definitely off for me.
I liked the dialogue parts of the book but the descriptive parts got me skimming a bit. It was too wordy and it didn’t need to be.
I couldn’t connect with the characters and I felt zero chemistry between Vicky and Henry.
I loved that the mom made the dog in charge of the company. I loved how selfless Vicky was but it really irritated me how awful Henry was to Vicky in the beginning. It killed me that Vicky didn’t give him more of a chase. It was so obvious he didn’t have good intentions.
I liked Vicky had a difficult past. That added something to the story.
Okay so don’t judge a book by it’s cover, but I really enjoyed this one. I was reading two vampire books at the same time and I got co4.25 Vampy Stars
Okay so don’t judge a book by it’s cover, but I really enjoyed this one. I was reading two vampire books at the same time and I got confused between the two books, but other than that, this was a delightful read.
Damon is a standalone and is part of the Protectors series. Each book focuses on a warrior. A warrior is a vampire that kind of protects.
This is Damon and Nicole’s story. Nicole is a social worker and she looks after not only human kids, but vampire kids! I know, people turn vampire kids because of the blood and it’s easier to take it from the kids. Sad, but the book is pretty light and doesn’t really get too serious or gritty, which I liked.
Damon is there to protect Nicole because someone is after her.
I really like the world building in this one. The vampires feed off of each other, but the opposite sex. Vampires can feed off of humans, but it gets kind of tricky and complicated which is explained in the book.
I didn’t really see a full connection between Damon and Nicole, BUT I did like the writing style and it had the right amount of tension to keep me interested. I feel like with each book I read in the series it will only get better.
I’m not really a fan of Jared (he’s the next in the series) but I hope the author gives him a great story. There wasn’t really anything great about him, he just wasn’t memorable to me.
Well, isn’t this the little gem I found. The Protégé was written really well, engaging and some what kinky. I loved every minute of 5 Surprising Stars
Well, isn’t this the little gem I found. The Protégé was written really well, engaging and some what kinky. I loved every minute of it and thank you goodreads for helping me find this author.
When I started the book I got a little nervous because the two characters, Laszlo and Isabeau had history and something happened. I didn’t want to read a angsty book, but this wasn’t!
The book is mostly in the present, but there are some flashback chapters and to my surprised I really loved the flashback chapters because there was a reason for each chapter. The author wrote with purpose and there were no filler pages.
Laszlo finds Isabeau when she is little and notices she will become a great cellist with proper education and training. Laszlo is 17 years older than her and is a famous composer. I love the theme of the book! I love the music and I love how much the characters love music.
The relationship between Laszlo and Isabeau is intense and oh my gosh reading it was addictive. I was devouring the pages trying to figure out what will happen. I really love the relationship between the two main characters and I love both characters on their own.
They care for so much for each other and it truly shows in the book.
There is some kink in the book and I think it only made the read better.
This author is 100% on my need to read all books list. ...more

I read Branded Captive which is the author’s newest book and so I was curious to the other books. I highly recommend you read Born to be Bound prior to reading Branded Captive because it gives you a bit more insight to the Alpha and Omega world. It makes more sense now.
This one is less smutty and longer than Branded Captive so look at it more as a full-length erotic novel.
There were parts I enjoyed and some parts I found lacking. I found that I didn’t really care for the politics of the book. Two sides getting ready to fight each other. The strong and bad side, which is Shepherd and the rebellion and good side.
This isn’t a love triangle, but there is a third person involved and I have a feeling his character will be stronger in the second book, but that is me thinking out loud.
I’m not sure how I feel about Shepherd, sometimes I like him and sometimes I wonder if I’m suppose to hate him. He’s very set in his ways. He treats and views Claire like a possession, having no care for her feelings or even if she is in discomfort. He sometimes shows signs of sympathy but when you feel like he is redeeming himself he does terrible things, like (view spoiler)[fucking another girl on the other side of the door and leaving his fluids all over the bed for his mate to see (hide spoiler)] yeah I didn’t get that. Did the author want me to hate him?
I’m curious to see how that will be explained and how Shepherd can redeem himself.
You feel for Claire throughout the whole book. She basically battles her feelings throughout the whole book. She hates him, but he bonded with her and so that bond makes her crave him.
Overall, the book has potential but if Shepherd doesn’t start redeeming himself, I’m not sure I can finish the series.

Brittney C Cherry books are hit or miss with me. This one wasn’t a hit. I partly blame my mood, but also, too many people in the book pissed me off for me to actually enjoy the characters.
I felt like the romance / love was the back-burner of the plot, but the real plot is about two people who have horrible situations and how everyone around them is contributing to the horrible situation.
First off – I didn’t care for the past moments with Jackson. They were pointless and I didn’t care how his mom left him or what he went through as a child. If anything I was glad those chapters were short.
Grace is coming back home to her small town. Her life is pretty messed up. Her husband wants to officially in public separate and well, other stuff happens that will make you hate her husband and everyone around her.
I think if Grace didn’t have a few good characters on her side I would have been bashing my brains out. Good grief, the villain of the book was her mom and she was annoying AF. I couldn’t stand her. I know she is the villain of the book, but she was like a broken record. She kept on saying how disappointed she was in Grace and how Grace needs to go back to her ex-husband. Her mom killed the story for me. Her personality was just too big for me and it over shadow the romance of the book.
Then Jackson, oh my gosh, the chip on his shoulder. His father is a drunk and his mama left him so he’s a jerk that likes to sleep with woman. Sigh. I’m just tired of this. I wanted to feel for him, but I couldn’t. I was over this type of guy and I just didn’t care for his issues. I did like that he had redeemable parts and he wasn’t so mean that he turned me off. I just found him a little unremarkable.
I love a good small town book, but goodness the town is mean! Why would anyone want to live in that town? They all gossip and try to get into Grace’s business and well, like I said, they were mean.
This book had angst and a lot of mean people. It made me really annoyed and it was hard to enjoy the book. On top of that, with all the issues the couple was facing, I felt like I couldn’t read about Grace or Jackson healing because everyone was so mean to them!
I couldn’t take it.
The issues between Grace and Jackson wasn’t so bad. It was more like the couple against the world kind of read and I love that kind of book, but the town and the MOM rubbed me the wrong way.
I also (view spoiler)[didn’t like the ending where Grace and her mom made up. The women didn’t help Jackson when he was beaten up as a 16 year old? I have a nephew that is 16, if he was beat up and asked for help and was turned away by my mom, that would be unforgivable. I also don’t like that just because Grace’s dad cheated that kind of gave the mom a get-out-free-jail card for being a mega bitch. (hide spoiler)] ...more

The book is hot and kind of dark. Not what I expected, but I didn’t hate it. I like short smutty books, but this one might be a touch too short? It was hard to follow what was going on, I had to read other reviews when I finished to answer some of my questions.
The book starts out with a bang and basically sets the tone of the book. I you can’t stomach that part, you really shouldn’t read any more. I on the other hand, kind of enjoyed all the abuse.
At the end of the day Wren is abused throughout the book.
I thought these reverse Harem kind of books were about worshipping one girl, but it’s about three dudes that really like to bang and not give a crap about the girl’s feelings.
I’ll say it again, YOU WILL FEEL BAD FOR HER. But there’s lots of steam, so there you go. What I will say is that I didn’t expect this to be a cliff-hanger. Who does that in smutty novellas? Had I known that I would have waited for the series to finish.
I think that was a little misleading from the author … but that’s my two cents. ...more
