RY comiLast year after Iron Flame I didnt think I would go on with this Series - Im glad I stuck with it because Onyx Storm was.... really damn good.
RY coming into her own with her writing fantasy is sublime to read (Im so glad I did the re-reads)
-Holy character growth. Characters who got on my nerves in the first 2 book have now became favorites. And one in particular - my heart. Xaden and Violets growth and development as individuals and relationship wise is heartbreaking and tender and sweet and fun and funny and serious and.....just...crying. (no miscommunication trope this time around and no silly ex's making me eyeroll.) You can tell RY poured her heart and soul into this.
- The easter Eggs and foreshadowing. The theorists are going to have so much fun and I am here for EVERY SINGLE THEORY THEY PUT OUT THERE!
- The world building is phenomenal. And at some point I realized just how refreshing and original it is. Just like the plot (not perfect) BUT it's not a '500 year old Fae warrior/prince/king and a 20 year old human girl'.
- That friggin ending .. I dont know what to say
- The banter and the conversations and the snark is TOP NOTCH
Now I'm invested in this Series and totally gonna ride the Onxy Storm Theory Fun for however long. I remember when I started Throne of Glass and was kinda rolling my eyes but I stuck with it and watch the amazing author & story growth and it was one of the best damn things to ever witness-- This almost feels the same....more

I did not see this ending coming and there was a part where I literally GASPED out loud.
I don't think this is everyone's cup of tea. What I do know is this sort of writing is what keeps my soul mesmerized & hungering for more....more

I feel almost traumatized. I finished it last night and did not get a wink of sleep. And today I continue to feel remnants of disturbing-ness. But now having gotten that out of the way, I was not able to put this book down once started. This was a superbly written book. Quite amazing how the author made the reader feel every emotion, the good, bad, & ugly, that Eva (the mother and the main character) felt and lived. The book is written as letters to her husband and it is devastating to read, but nevertheless once started I never put it down....more
