The thing I didn't like about this series is the MC element. This is not an MC series but rather a series that has some MC elements. There is quite a distinction, and if I thought I was going to read an MC series, I would be quite turned off by the actual story that is written....more

First...an MC book, this wasn't. If you are hoping to read a book about an MC with MC lives and challenges and the ins and out of an MC club, this isn't that book. Let's start with the fact that the MC is secondary to everything in the life of this President. EVERYONE knows that in an MC world, club business isn't a woman's business so when they allow and encourage her to handle club business, that is just a no.
This author seems to think that to make an alpha male sound alpha is to use the work "Fuck" every other sentence. My life is fucked, I am so fucked, she is so fucked, by the 4th chapter, the "shock" factor wore off and I was curious if she knew what a thesaurus was.
I don't think Lane called Amelia by her name...ever. Doll was his endearment, but not gonna lie, that became super repetitive as well.
They go to dinner at the parent's house and everyone, not kidding, told her that her parent's are assholes. In her rambling, she says, I always loved my dad, he was always kind to me, but then he is an asshole? AND, the sister says one thing under her breath (I mean, come on, a sister does that) and the whole house blows up? Not even close to realistic.
The timeline issues became an issue for me as well. Was kind of wishing I could make it a drinking game. For instance. "Dad can I ride my bike after dinner"?.....literally 3 paragraphs later Amelia says "want to help me pack some sandwiches for lunch". She has clothes show up out of no where at one point. She heard him ride up on his motorcycle but they left in his truck...magic. She says the kid gets in her booster seat...at 9 years old? She slipped by her bodyguard...ummm why? That didn't even make sense. There were so many more, but alas, I am bored just writing how boring it really was.
The writing just seemed incredibly juvenile, the MC part was lackluster, the character development was nonexistent, and the timelines didn't match. It's going to be a hard pass for me on the rest of this series....more

The last few books have been super about feelings and touchy feely kind of crap and not enough about the big bad alpha bikers I have come to know and love. In the end, I loved this part of the series. ...more

We won't talk about grammar and punctuation but inconsistencies started annoying me. For instance...little girl and mom were having a dance party in the kitchen. Little girl was seen wearing some sort of cartoon pjs, then a few sentences later, she is told to go put on her pjs. You have a woman that has been beaten for years and a young girl that has been brought up seeing it. The little girl, who is traumatized and moved from the only home she knows, starts calling a guy she has never met, papa. And within a few days of leaving said abusive home, she is acting out and being whinny and turning in to a "normal" 4 year old. No...just NO. That doesn't happen. It takes YEARS for a child to overcome that type of trauma. THEN, this is an MC, a rough and tumble MC, through and through. As a soldier, he should know in the MC world that anything known or learned inside the MC stays in the MC. The first chance he gets, he tells her that her dad was a hit man in his home world. Ummm...no. That kind of stuff just ins't shared. I don't think this author, or her fantasy MC world is for me!!...more

I loved that we are digging deeper in to the Novak family, finding out what makes them "tick". My heart breaks for Michael and his brother and the hell they went through. I love that Dani is not only willing, but able to take them quickly and show them some stability and love, which they greatly needed. Additionally, finding out who King actually is, I am curious why his kids weren't mentioned as having other siblings (trying to be cryptic because I don't want to put in any spoilers). I mean, it was a big deal when anyone found out they had other family within this series, but then, the biggest bad guy had kids and nothing was mentioned about that connection.
