As for the series, again, there is some advancement, but once you find out some information, there are more questions. Once you think you have it figured out there is another curveball thrown and you have to rethink everything you know. I LOVE THAT....more

I am not sure exactly why, I just know that there was hardly ANY back story as to how or why Max was Mad Dog and yet he was just readily accepted in to this 1% club like he had never been gone. This isn't any type of MC I Have ever heard about, 1%ers are always so cautious and to just admit him in as SAA just seemed rushed to me. As for Hope, I did like her (obviously her name is awesome lol), and she was different. A mechanic that can hold her own, but at time she almost seemed whinny which annoyed me. I don't know, just wasn't my favorite (although the advancement in the overall plot of the series was great)....more

Second in command, he has a lot of baggage then he meets his lost love and the daughter he didn't know about. **spoiler alert** I am on the fence about this one. I am reading the set of the first 3 books, so the formatting may be completely different than the single books, but there are some glaring issues with grammar and punctuation all through this book. Also, I don't know what happened, or when, but for some reason Rocco and Kit started calling Mandy "Em" or "Emmy" at times. I don't recall her having a nickname or why Em or Emmy would be short for Mandy.
I liked the story...for the most part. I thought several scenes were "WTF" moments. Like, let's take a bomb off of her and then immediately have sex in an SUV surrounded by FBI, and police plus your brother. That's a big fat no.
Then the son coming in at the end of the book, just was a bow on the book, and even more unbelievable. A guy that doesn't like to be touched, let's take him to a bar where he will most likely be jostled and touched by all sorts of people he has never met.
I don't know, I am looking forward to the next one, I am just leery now....more

So many parts of it, I really liked. I did like Gideon and his merry band of misfits. I liked Emily to a point, she did come off as an entitled, whinny brat and I am not sure that was the intention. We heard of her other BFF only once. I guess if I owned a business with someone and knew them forever, I would have expected her to check on me after I almost die 600 times in a few days. I did call who the bad guy was within the first few chapters. I don't think that took away from the story, just trying to figure out the "why" was fun.
