All this way, all of these Dark Sword books, and Diedre STILL lives? Not only that, but now we are traveling to the future? I don't really see any more of these in my future, I am really tired of this dragging. That being said, I did enjoy Broc and Sonia. I just wish there was a different thing for the women to do besides run to save the men they love. It seems to be an epidemic. ...more

I have noticed that all of the warriors and druids switch between "old time traditional" speak and modern speak, and by this book, it is starting to get on my nerves. I think coupled with no resolution in sight, I am starting to give up on this series. I liked Galen and Reaghan, and their story was one that was a little different which was enjoyable, but this Diedre lady, she needs to go and we need to get a new plot here....more

I liked Isla and Hayden as a couple, but I really liked Isla. She is so damaged but so determined, I think she is so relatable. Again, though, the author is dragging this out. I seriously hope there is something soon, I am getting sick of this Diedre mess, it's the same thing each book....more

This Diedre just won't freaking die. It's like in each book the author gives you just a little more to keep you interested in the big battle that we all know is coming. I will admit, I am getting a little worried this chick isn't ever going to die. I know in her dragon series, this author has a gift of dragging a series out past its due, so I am hoping we get some sort of resolution soon....more

There wasn't a whole lot that happened other than a few battles, a castle restoration, and Fallon falling for a goddess. It just seemed like this book was a checkmark in the series, saying yep, Fallon got a book. I also don't understand why Fallon, who can jump, doesn't just jump to the mountain and get his brother, especially once he started using it and could do it so readily. Of course, it isn't going to stop me from going on in the series, and I know I said I was curious about Quinn but now my curiosity has moved to Broc, is he bad? Is he good? Hmmmm, can't wait to find out....more

I was beginning to lose hope that we would get any answers or any vengeance in this series. It seemed to drag on without any conclusions, just more questions. Not going to say there aren't new questions, because there are, but at least we saw some action. I like Kelton and Bernadette, but I didn't love them. Some were lost, some were added, and lots of things happened in this book. I am very much looking forward to the next in the series. ...more

So many are gunning for her now, who will get the privilege of taking her out? I think V is one of my favorites.
My only "complaint" and it isn't really a complaint, more like it just isn't me, is the dating blog. I admit I skipped 90% of the posts, and knew almost immediately who the author was, when I started reading this book. I just don't think it added much to the story or the characters. ...more

I will admit, one part I didn't quite like was her reasoning for avoiding Ryan for so many years. I can see it being embarrassing, maybe even being mortified, but to cut someone out of your life for 15 years for that?? No...when it was mentioned she was on her period, I thought something happened with that, and THAT I could see avoiding him for a few years.
Other than that, I really liked this book, the writing style, and the characters. Can't wait to read Trav & Daisy's story....more

II really liked this book, but like the first one, I just thought it was too short. I thought it needed more backstory, especially with Max & Alyssa. I know we know a lot about Lake from Angel Eyes, but even her background would have been nice. She mentioned not speaking to her parents, but that is it. I liked the secondary characters, but I did grab on to the bad guy pretty quickly in this one. It didn't take away from the story, and I was on the edge of my seat trying to figure out if I was right, but it wasn't hard to figure out this time. I even with there had been more backstory for the bad guy and the helper. (Trying not to give to much away lol). The author uses the word "I" way to much and is super descriptive about everything. Example..."I pulled out of the parking lot of the wine and tapas bar...I smoothed my dress and entered the small restaurant...I settled into the somewhat empty bar...I had brown accustomed to Jenna's relatives." One paragraph and 6 "I", it became super repetitive. At one point I skipped over 100 pages (because again, repetitive and descriptive) and pick up and was able to follow along no issues. I didn't miss anything....in over 100 pages.
Then it was SUPER unrealistic. She finds out she was an asset and she tells him she can be an asset or the love of his life. Ummm....what? You just found out the man you love with all of your heart after knowing him for all of 2 weeks was using you to get to your father and you give him an ultimatum? No, you leave and let him grovel.
Then all of the stuff with Charlie and her dad, and then her past and her mother and murders and and and...it was just all to much and not enough all at the same time. I gave it 2 start instead of 1 because I was somewhat intrigued by his role, but when it came to the revelation of his actual role and how that was handled...I was done. I don't think this author is for me....more
