I reread this book in anticipation for the movie. It made me realize why I love this series so much. All of the characters, even the minor ones, are so detailed and three dimensional. Getting to see all of the past victors from Joanna and Finnick to Beetee to Mags was amazing. Once again, the intrigue and psychological intricacies made me never really sure of who to trust or of what was going on. The only thing annoying about this book was the cliffhanger. Although, knowing what lies ahead in Mockingjay, I'm not sure I'll be rereading it right away.
I was also amazed at how well the movie followed the book. There's a running joke that the book will always be better than the movie, and although that's true to an extent, I think this movie may have been the best. There were direct quotes, it followed the plot exactly. Besides lacking only a few minor details, like Plutarch's foreshadowing watch and District 3's bread gifts in the arena, it was the perfect movie adaptation....more

I forgot how much I truly enjoyed this book. I honestly think that this is one of - if not THE - best book of this genre. There's so much rich back story that's added flawlessly, and all of the characters feel so real. Rereading this reaffirmed why I enjoyed it so much....more

I wanted to read this again because of the movie coming out in December. I couldn't help but imagine the book characters as their actor counterparts which made things... interesting. It's still a really good book, and I really enjoy reading it....more
