You start off being on the sidelines, an observer laughing at their shenanigans and admiring their bond and loyalty. And then, each book at a time, as they talk to you from the pages and allow you to know them better, they become intimate friends and you end up feeling an integral part of their family. You realize that, while they might seem tough and indistructable, at their core they're soft and with big hearts that can be as breakable as anyone else's.
Take Dillon, for example. Stone faced and seemingly emotionally detached, only allowing a few chosen ones into his heart. I never would have guessed his inner turmoil, the reasons for closing himself off to any romantic involvement. I loved seeing Luke chip away at Dillon's walls. It was almost like getting close to a wounded animal, which Dillon pretty much was. Touch and go a couple of times, when it seemed like Dillon was to scared to fully let Luke in...but when he did, it was beautiful. Because both men were hungry for love and what they found with each other was the kind of everlasting connection that made them feel settled, complete and happy.
Their steps toward one another happened while they were trying to figure out who threatened Luke's life. There was a lot of tension all through the book and at some point I actually felt like being right in the middle of an action movie. It was exciting!
Now, with all my friends alive and another couple happily in love, on to the next adventure. Zane and Isaac's hopefully....more

The fictional monarchy of Corvia, from the king and down the whole line of succession, are a group of rowdy, best case scenario, and, on a specific case, deranged people.
A dysfunctional family, to say the least, and I was glad Eric got away young. Far from that toxicity, at the time the events of this story unfolded, he turned out to be an exceptional man. Centered, reliable, caring and big hearted. I really liked everything about him, especially the fact he took responsibility for his niece, even if scared at the prospect, and did everything in his power to protect her. I enjoyed seeing how he, together with Dan, made Ada's wellbeing their priority, putting aside their initial distrust.
Feelings between Eric and Dan kinda sneaked up on them and they were so, so cute. The way they found things to appreciate in each other felt like they both slowly revealed a wonderful gift wrapped in ugly paper, from their first antagonistic meeting up until they fell in love. They definitely need the closeness and understanding when danger increased and they seemed close to losing everything.
I lot happened in this book. Family drama, scheming and plotting, mystery and tragedy. But amidst the intrigue and ugliness, I found unshakable friendships, outstanding strength of character and feelings, sweetness and love. Most of all, the wonderful bond of a new found family. The ending, though, I didn't see coming. Kudos to the author for the lovely surprise....more

Added to the excitement of the mystery and the danger, it made it so that this story was a fast paced, gripping reading experience.

I love the bodyguard/protected trope, because I'm a sucker for the unrequited feelings, seeing the main characters fight their unexpected attraction... of course I was excited to read this author's take on it.
The story was gripping and heart-pounding. I adored Roman and Trey. They felt so real, their emotions so tangible and their connection incredibly strong and breathtaking to witness.
There was an intense suspense/mystery subplot in the book, which, combined with the emotional ride and sexual tension, made Saving the Senator's Son an engaging page turner.
You will not regret giving this book a chance!...more

Each new shocking event made him freak out until he started taking everything in stride. I guess having Ryder always on his side helped a lot, the eye candy certainly alleviating many of his fears lol.
And Ryder. I almost want to claim him for myself. Tough juxtaposed with gentle, violent with kind, protective with a side of endearing cuteness...it was a heady combination that just made me swoon, and of course, caused Conrad's knees to weaken.
Conrad and Ryder didn't fight their feelings for too long, and I loved them together. And, seeing that someone was after Conrad, the story was an amazing combination of romance and suspenseful thrill. There were also many interesting side characters that made the reading experience even more intriguing, and I can't wait to see what happens to them next in the series....more

There's a lot of sex and it's blatantly descriptive, kinky, raw and HOT, HOT, HOT!
But it's not just that. It's also the portray of two lonely souls that surprisingly connected during their forced isolation, even though their relationship should have been only physical. The author did an awesome work at describing their feelings, their internal turmoil, until their bond became deep and meaningful, delightfully passionate and romantic.
Cabin Fever is another fantastic book by this author, who always delivers a romance with a lot of steamy hotness in it. Loved it!...more

This one was on the short side, but really intense. It gave a real sense of how much the threat to his life messed with Garrett's mind, making him jumpy and angry. I had fun, though, watching him and Jason together. Kinda enemies, yet not, antagonizing yet having to live in each other's pockets until the danger was eliminated. Admittedly, I would have liked to know more about Jason, about what was hidden behind his stern facade, but, in the end, I really enjoyed how the storyline brought him and Garrett together as a couple. Nothing like tension, danger and fear to create a strong connection, right?
