They were all broken in some way or another, and I mean all the people at Whisper Ridge ( if you've read Winter Cowboy you know what I mean)...and maybe that's why it didn't take long for Quinn and Levi to feel right at home at the ranch.
Because, you see, Quinn and Levi were damaged, too. The author wrote them achingly real, in such a way they stroke a cord in me. Levi was a gruff loner, not interested in making friends or building lasting connections, with a shield around his heart he'd thought impenetrable. And Quinn ...he was precious. Good thing nobody saw inside his heart and mind, because they might of gotten dizzy. Inside he was a turmoil of fears, hopes, insecurities...and laughter and joy.
These two didn't start off particularly well. At the beginning they were like two magnets that would attract one moment and force back the other. Their interactions were delightful. Levi would get standoffish and, around him, Quinn would became all adorable and nervous, if not standoffish himself. As expected, eventually the pull became stronger than the push, and their chemistry was beyond the charts incediary...with a surprising dynamic that I found incredibly hot. The only way to describe it was they were custom made for each other, sexually and emotionally.
They found love, home and acceptance, with each other and at Whisper Ridge. Their story put me through the whole gamut of emotion, I laughed out loud, smiled and even cried a bit. It was a touching and delicious combination of funny, sweet, sad and sexy that left a lasting impression on me.
Also, at this point Whisper Ridge and its amazing people, the sense of family they give are almost home for me, too, and I'd love it if RJ Scott would write more books in this series.

Excellent humor, great banter, friendship, realistic college guys and two charming main characters, it was fun, flirty, angst-free, sexy and exactly what i needed.
The protagonists, Robbie and Brandon, were amazingly written. I loved them and how their relationship evolved. The experimenting, the kisses and touches, the steamy sex scenes ... they definitely had a sizzling chemistry. But it was their honest vulnerability, the tiny tender moments they shared that made this book special. The easy friendship, the complicity, support and love that eventually unfolded between them was all I could have wished for both.
I just adored every moment spent reading about Robbie and Brandon. With just the right amount of freaking out, uncertainty, a perfect dosage of fluff and the swooniest epilogue, this was an endearing, thoughtful romance and I can't recommend it enough.

I admit, the first few pages I didn't know what to believe. Romily, the narrator, kept meeting this guy loaded to the gills with weapons who got involved in these mass killings, which Romily witnessed. You gotta admit it was a bit weird, right? Soon enough, the guy got a name, Fox, and offered Romily a job as his Harbinger. Don't know what that means? I can't tell you, because you definitely have to read this book and find out for yourselves.
And I promise you'll have immense fun reading it, especially if you're a fan of over the top, silly, snarky, sometimes ridiculous humor. Consider that Romily is mute, and he still managed to crack me up every page of this book. A lot of craziness was involved, eccentric and captivating characters, paranormal action, twists and surprises. No angst, slow romantic buildup, some danger and gore...a total winner for me!...more

Yes, sounds like the beginning of a joke, only neither Emmett nor Phoenix fit the image one might have of angels and demons. Emmett is grumpy and cynical, while Phoenix is sunshine and mischief incarnate. The most unlikely partners, given a mission they weren't prepared for...a mission with an outcome neither would have dreamed of.
This was beyond brilliant! It was different, refreshing and amazingly written. I loved the storyline, the balance between romance, comedy, heartbreak, action and paranormal was just about perfect. And trust Barbara Elsborg to write two immensely compelling protagonists and to slowly unpeeled layers upon layers of their personalities all through the book.
The story was perfectly paced, tension and danger slowly building up. Emmett and Phoenix improvised themselves detectives, painful pasts revealed and feelings steadily growing between them. They were delightful together, snarky, sweet and sexy. The strengthening intimacy and trust between lightened up the story, while there was an escalation in ghostly activities and a malevolent presence became increasingly dangerous. The ghost part of the plotline was fascinating. The lost souls made my heart hurt and some of them were so adorable that I wanted their own stories.
There's everything to love about Inbetweeners. Two main characters that will steal your heart, topnotch humor and snark, a heart-melting romance and a gripping storyline. I laughed so much my face hurt, I cried with heartbreak but I also found so much joy. I loved it and I can't recommend it enough!...more

Simply everything. The author has created a colorful world for Campo Royal. Catty queens, sparkling dresses, music, friendship, bickering and support... a family, really, with the best drag mama ever, Mother Patel.
Every single character is well crafted and interesting, and all important to the story. I adored every single one of them, from Elijah's brother to Tyr's best friend, and all the queens. And of course, the shining stars, Elijah and Tyr. Gods, they're precious and their connection was magical from the moment they set eyes on each other. It was the kind of sparkly, tunnel vision that meant they only saw and needed the other. Like I said, magical, and it continued to be so, even when they initially had doubts, and especially when they embraced their feelings for one another.
This is a fantastic story, has amazing characters and deep emotions. It's wonderfully written and I was riveted by every page. I loved it and I can't recommend it enough!...more

Roommate Arrangement was no exception.
The story was sweet, funny and hot. Filled with the kind of delicious, unresolved sexual tension that frizzled in the air between Payne and Beau, and cute unrequited crush. Also, the author did an amazing job at portraying the characters' inner conflicts, enough to tug at my heartstrings and feel for their troubles.
Payne and Beau were utterly adorable and endearing, and I loved them. And certainly, the best part of the book was learning about them and watching them grow, seeing them work at a relationship and fall in love. Their interactions and dialogue, their passion for each other, everything about them together simply filled my heart with tenderness.
I pretty much had a grin plastered on my face all through this. So darn sweet it gave me all the fuzzies and filled me with warmth, amusing and romantic and emotional. I loved it and I can't recommend it enough....more

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely loved Sam, but Chet was simply unique. A geek through and through, with a formal manner of expressing himself that added charm to his personality. Sometimes awkward, scientifically evaluating his emotions and always himself. There were no artifice with Chet. Always honest and real, and so giving and selfless and vibrant. I adored him and he completely won my heart!
Chet and Sam together were brilliant. The geek and the jock, a pair that shouldn't have worked, yet clicked perfectly together. They were cute and sweet, and so so hot, and I couldn't get enough of them.
Hilarious at times, poignant at others, and with plenty of steamy moments, this is the perfect novel to devour on a cold winter night, guaranteed to warm you up and fill you with joy.

What I loved most about it was discovering that both Noah and Alistair were complex and full of contradictions. Noah was bad-mouthed, rude, insensitive, selfish, directionless...but also lonely, starved for affection, witty, smart and loyal. Alistair- cold, unscrupulous and violent if necessary, proved to also be tender, gentle, giving, caring and dependable. They had so many layers that I discovered during the book, while Alistair tried to "tame" Noah, who acted like the brattiest of brats until Daddy Alistair took the time to spank, care and dote on him, to show him that he's precious and worthy of love.
The central drive of the storyline was the relationship between Noah and Alistair. The author played with dominance and discipline, and the sex scenes were graphic, intense and incendiary. Lust came first and love followed in a natural way, until they owned each other, mind, body and soul...*happy sigh*
This book had intriguing mixed with sweet, intense and hot, hilarious and dangerous. Two utterly charming protagonists and their swoon worthy romance, and a host of interesting secondary characters. And, one of the best things for me was seeing the bad guys and the family they've evidently found together. Like any other family, they teased and riled up and fought, while obviously loyal and ready to face any dangers to protect each other. I loved all of them and I hope the author will write many other books in this series so that I can see them again.

It was a book that made me feel love and affection from every bit of dialogue and from every interaction, and that made me believe that second chances and good things happen to good people. No unnecessary angst, just clever, kind people and their journey to happiness, leaving me with an immense feel-good buzz after reading their story. It was told solely from Greg's perspective, but the author's amazing writing made it incredibly easy to envision all the other characters and fall in love with all of them: his two precious twin girls, his family and friends, and especially Aiden.
I loved everything about this story. I felt loss and helplessness, surprise, confusion and determination, absolute joy and love, and every emotion in between, all wrapping up the beautiful romance between Greg and Aiden. A must read!

It was tragic reading about Harrison's struggling each day, physically, mentally and emotionally, and hopeful seeing him heal more and more each day. Toby was a huge factor in Harrison's journey to getting better. The way their relationship developed was immensely affecting. A slow, day by day process of Toby caring touch and being present, and Harrison doing everything possible to cling to his memories. They were absolutely stunning together as they steadily grew closer and closer emotionally, despite the objective obstacles in their way.
I honestly read this with a smile on my face and tears in my eyes. It was so heartwarming to see how Toby and Harrison's love might not have had healing powers and they had to work every day for their serenity, but watching these two special men happy with each other filled my heart with joy. ...more

The book is told from Emory's perspective and the author gave him a witty, ironic and humorous voice that made me laugh all through the story. He was so adorable in his crush for Connor and I loved seeing how their relationship bloomed. It was amazing, so heartfelt, sweet and sexy. They laughed so much together, they teased just as much as they supported each other. They also shared a love for horror movies and books... until their lives became a nightmarish reality that surpassed Stephen King's fiction.
Emory had to improvise himself first a detective and then, with Connor's help and all of his friends', find the strength to save the day. While gruesome and thrilling, the story never stopped being hilarious, with sprinkles of sweetness thrown in. I went through so many emotions at once and, especially in the second half of the book, Emory and Connor's cuteness together filled me with tenderness, while the story also made me laugh and shiver in fear and dread.
It was immensely entertaining. Sara Dobie Bauer's skillfully crafted a narrative that combined romance, comedy and horror in a way that humor always prevailed. Emory and Connor were utterly charming and the supporting cast was funny and helped carry the story forward. I never had a boring moment reading this and I absolutely recommend it.

When I read the word genie in the blurb, I'd expected a plot filled with wishes granted immediately and some shenanigans of the sexy kind, but what I found instead was the sweetest, most heartwarming of romances.
When Ben bought a brass lamp and took it home, he'd made a half joke in his mind about a genie popping out of it. Nothing happened at first, until Daeliel materialized, the personification of all of Ben's fantasies. I absolutely loved this two, complete opposites and so perfect together. Ben was an absolute dream of a man, with so many hidden depths and the most tender of hearts. Watching him interact with the penguins at the zoo made me melt...actually, everything about him did. Daeliel was not a sweet, accommodating genie. He was sassy, snarky, colorful and dramatic, challenging Ben at every turn, but also kind and giving.
At the beginning they were downright hilarious, bickering and riling up one another. But, soon Daeliel started to fill every lonely corner of Ben's heart and life, and in turn, Ben soothed the genie's hurt soul.
And while their story made me swoon and awwww and smile, it also kept me on edge when it became clear that their relationship had a time limit. I hoped for a happy ending, and getting there has been a difficult waiting game. Oh, but I enjoyed waiting so very, very much! Because this book had everything. Magic, humor, heart, heat, heartbreak and a hugely satisfying HEA. Ben and Daeliel truly deserved each other and all the happiness in the world, and reading their story brought me immense joy.

Angel Martinez managed to weave science fiction with the magic feel of a fairytale, a lovely romance, high stakes and dangerous situations.
The book offers a beautifully crafted world, with a natural flow of background information throughout the storyline and lovable protagonists. It revolves around the adventure of Skillet, a palladin that suddenly became princess Siel, ruler of a whole planet when her mother died, and Dora. She was a professor who just wanted to study the dragons of her planet, but, denied the help from the university, she took matters into her own hands and she became Gruyere, impersonating a skilled guide...which she was not lol. I loved both of them, but, omg!, I want to be Snillek when I grow up. She was tough with the softest core, with a cutting sarcasm that always made me laugh, and she won me over with her boldness, honestly and loyalty. Dora, in comparison, was sweeter, but with equally good qualities. They were young, stubborn, an endearing combination of impulsive and wise, while also nice and decent, both desperate and eager to make the right choices when their life-plans get upended. I enjoyed the budding relationship between Skillet and Dora, I adored them together. They were sweet and soft and made me swoon, awe and root for their happiness.
The book is a fun, light read and a lovely escape from reality for a few hours. Two amazing heroines thrown together in a life or death situation, a quest that kept me entertained and holding my breath until the final pages. I highly recommend this if you're looking for something well written, romantic, and has lovely high scifi/fairytale elements....more

Penn and Kurt's histories were deeply painful. Both fragile in so many ways, yet they faced their fears with such raw emotion, trying to rebuild themselves up. I loved the strength they found in each other, the unflinching trust and love. They struggled and doubted, it definitely wasn't an easy journey for either of them, and their story was earnestly told, gritty and realistic.

In this story, Harrison might not have been the perfect sub nor was Cash the perfect Dom, but they found their way to making perfect together. They had to dig their way out from the lies, but it made the story more fun and intriguing. The investigation added an awesome twist and it definitely influenced the pacing of the relationship between Harrison and Cash. I loved it, because it went from fast paced and thrilling, to slow and intimate, enough to highlight the depths of the growing feelings between the protagonists.
Kitchen Sink Dom was an insightful, cute, entertaining, sexy and incredibly absorbing read. All the characters were amazing and I can't wait for the next book in this series.

The Quindi elves were feared, protagonists of many horror tales, yet Pavel has often found himself looking beyond the icey guardians, equal parts fascinated and scared of the unknown frozen world. But, Pavel would never have even dreamed of actually stepping into Elven territory, or that his own father would simply sell him to a Quindi warrior for a purse of golden coins. And just like that, Pavel's life became an adventurous journey and I absolutely loved it!
At the beginning of the story Pavel was an almost jaded soul, lonely and unhappy, exhausted and just going through the motions of working and taking care of his home, father and brother. But, as the story progressed I got to see there was so much more to him. Terrified, of course, but snapping and hissing, snarky and irreverent, inventive and brave. He stood up for himself even when his life was in danger, showing strength of character, resilience and courage.
That's all the spoilers I'm going to give away, because I think every reader should enjoy this magical story step by step, beyond excited to see what happens next. Because the author wrote it brilliantly, often changing the cards on the table, in a way that each page meant new surprises and conjectures. Told only from Pavel's point of view, I never knew what the other characters thought and I definitely never had an inkling of how things would work out for Pavel.
It was totally awesome, just like stepping into an amazingly depicted cold, frozen world, surrounded by sexy Legolas-es (I actually envy Pavel a bit lol). It was sweet, grab-you-by-the-feels, hilarious, delightful, a few times a bit saddening and angering, suspenseful, magical, sexy, engaging and surprising.
I'd recommend to get it as soon as possible, it's absolutely a must read!...more

I'd sit I love Barbara Elsborg's writing and the stories of the Unfinished Business series are ones that touched me more than any other of her books. I'd sit patiently waiting for each installment and Cato's story was one I was particularly excited for, running possible pairings for him in my mind.
I've only known Cato as Jonty's Terrible Twin, with almost equal sass and humor. But, sarcasm and sharp wit hid loneliness and need for his own special someone. Well, he found Vigge, who was most definitely Cato's balancing match. Perfectly opposed, taciturn versus outgoing, yet perfect for each other, both big hearted and kind.
I found beautiful how the story revealed the vulnerability both MC tried to conceal. A recent ugly breakup ate at Cato's self confidence, while Vigge has tought himself not to wish anything for himself, to not live beyond his work as a cop. He had never expected that romance was even in the cards for him, mostly because he thought not to deserve to be loved. Meeting Cato showed him just how empty his life was...an emptiness that Cato slowly started to fill by force of smiles and kisses. Oh, Vigge had tried to stay away from Cato, but somehow he always found himself looking for him. He was so cute, the big, bad cop, unable and then unwilling to resist the pull towards Cato.
The book has just enough romance as it has plot, in an amazing flow between the two. Someone threatened Cato in an escalation of attacks and Vigge himself had a mystery to elucidate from his past. Vigge was the one Cato ran to asking for help. Trying to figure out who was threatening Cato brought them close together and feelings started to bubble to the surface, Vigge slowly letting his walls down and eventually completely opening himself to Cato.
Both mysteries were really intriguing. While Vigge's was cleared up quite easily, Cato's continued all through the storyline. It was suspenseful and also fun, because I tried myself to guess who was the culprit...with scarce results from my part and a surprising elucidation.
As a conclusion, this was an all around awesome book. Hilarious banter, astrology, silly innuendos, snark, family drama and dramatics, charming characters, high steam and high emotions, a beautiful love story, suspense, mystery that worked hand in hand with the romance... what else could you ask for? It also didn't hurt that I got a pretty hefty dose of Jonty throughout the story. He never stops brightening my days, so more of him is always a delight.
