I have been a fan of the author's since I read her debut novel, Absolution. This book shows how her writing has improved beyond what I ever imagined. To start off, she is so talented in such a way, that she doesn't even know it. While reading this book, it was easy for me to picture everything that was happening, just like watching a movie. The story takes place at a cabin by a lake, and if I closed my eyes, I could literally smell the sap from the trees and smell the lake water. The details were just the right touch..not too much, not too little. Just enough to leave the reader with their own imagination and interpretation. I will state that the subject matter of this book is dark and tough to read, but honestly, it's so written so beautifully. It's a little bittersweet. I felt the anguish, the fear, the heartache. Tears streamed down my face, time and time again. It's amazing how the author can compel such emotions out of her readers. It takes true skill with words to have that affect on people. The story revolves around Danny, who commits suicide and how his actions have affected the lives of his closest friends.I don't want to give too much away but trust me, you will want to read this book and it won't disappoint you. First of all, I'd like to congratulate B.A. Wolfe on having a fantastic debut! While reading this book, I kept asking myself, "She didn't write other books?" The writing of the story flows so well and is impeccable. Everything about this book is great. The story starts off with Cassandra, running away from her parents and sheltered life. She decides to visit her best friend, Melanie who lives a few hours away at another college. During her drive to Melanie's, Cassandra is involved in a car accident located in a small rural town.
Then she meets Jason, a handsome and charming cowboy, come to rescue her from the accident. Unfortunately, with no car..she's stuck there..indefinitely until car is fixed. The connection between Jason and Cassandra is so real but magical at the same time. Reading about them gave me butterflies..yes butterflies!!! I was so hooked to this book and read it in 2 sittings. If I didn't have to work, I probably would have finished it in one day. I felt that I really connected with Cassandra. She is scared, hurt, feels alone, and is ashamed of her mistakes. She tries to keep her head high and not let the bad things get to her but deep down, she's in pain. Just knowing what she went through brings me sadness. Shoot! I wanted to help her..and save her myself. I also loved Melanie. I think she is the perfect best friend a girl could ask for. She is loyal, smart, witty, sexy, and so "I don't give a shit about what you think"...I loved it!! No matter what happened, she always had Cassandra's back. I am hoping to read more about Melanie in the upcoming sequel.
Then there's Jason...wheewwww! This man is hot!! I was not a fan of cowboys until now!! He just screams, "Do Me!!!" But I didn't fall in love with him because of his sex appeal; yes..that helped. I fell in love with his demeanor, his humbleness, his ability to care for a complete stranger; just because it's the right thing to do. Jason is the perfect gentleman. He is kind, generous, hilarious, a great dancer, has great taste in music, and loves scrabble!! How can you not love this character!!??? smiley
There are so many good qualities about this book. It is a moving and overwhelming love story between two people who never expected to find love, and not only, overcome their inner demons, but also bring hope back into each other's lives. I read this book in one sitting as it was a very easy read. For a debut novel, it wasn't bad at all. I commend Riley Rhea for having such courage to put her words out there. The story starts off with Brenna and Tucker who are apart for several years without any contact with one another. Brenna has to come home and visit her family and during her visit, she runs into Tucker. Tucker is all hot and and sexy in this book!! He is funny, confident, smart, and steamy! I loved the way he cared for Brenna and I admire his determination to never stop loving her.
I liked Brenna but sometimes she got on my nerves. Yeah, I wanted to slap some sense into her and say, "Girl, get a clue! This hot cowboy is madly in love with you and you don't see it!!!"
The only criticism I have is the writing felt a little juvenile and inadequate at times. I also would have liked to see a bit more drama and angst. The build up was there but then once everything was out in the open, I thought, "That's it?". Overall, I enjoyed this book and the concept was very heartwarming and so beautiful. I loved the ending and I hope Brenna and Tucker get a chance to tell more of their story. I will definitely check out the next in the series, Someone To Love. ...more

From the very first teaser I read, I knew I was going to enjoy this book. Trudy does such a wonderful job of bringing emotion and passion through the pages of this book. Within the first 3 pages, I was hooked. The story begins with Carly and Kyle, a married couple who are not able to conceive and therefore have decided to adopt. Tabitha is a 21 year old who is the young mother, giving her unborn baby girl to both Carly and Kyle. The plot alone is so heartening and real the reader experiences these life altering events with the characters.
Both Carly and Tabitha have been through so much and each have a painful and tortuous past. The connection and love between Carly and Tabitha is just precious and genuine. I absolutely loved both of them and commend them for their bravery and determination to always strive to do the right thing. Trudy practically melted my heart and conjured my soul with her words. I felt so connected to Tabitha. Her story really hit home for me. Her life had gone to shit after a family tragedy and kept going downhill. I cried out for her and I wanted to console her and wipe away her tears. Reading her story broke my heart and boy, oh boy, did I cry for her. All she wanted was to feel loved but bad and indecisive decisions led to abuse and ridicule. I have so much respect for Tabitha in that, she knew she couldn't give her baby the life she deserved, and therefore, made the ultimate sacrifice.
I truly believe that Carly's strength and compassion is what helps Tabitha in the long run. Carly also had a painful and violent past, but her childhood was completely different from Tabitha's. Carly had a loving family and Carly had Kyle. Kyle is the perfect gentleman and knight in shining armor. I loved the way he protected Carly and I adored his admiration towards her. To him, Carly was an angel full of hope, and no one can take that away from her. He stood by Carly's side and welcomed Tabitha into their lives. How can you not love this man? He is super sweet, masculine, sexy as hell, and just freaking amazing!
The entire story will leave you in tears and provoke strong emotions from you. It is very touching and so personal, it's hard not to love this book. For a debut novel, this book really hit the mark. Trudy shows true talent by telling a story from two different woman, sharing a common goal. Her use of exceptional descriptive words brings the story to life. I felt like I was watching a Lifetime movie and all I wanted was a happy ending! I am so honored to have read this book and can easily say, that it has become one of my favorite books of 2013; definitely in my top 5. I am so proud of Trudy for writing such an amazing story and will definitely read the next in the series. ...more

I was hooked from the very beginning, actually the beginning was hilarious! Poor Jordan is 30 years old, has a crap job, and has had shitty relationships, one right after the other. She has been broken hearted too many times and begins to realize that maybe finding love is not all its cracked up to be. Jordan's personality was full of spunk and she is all about "I don't give a crap" attitude. I loved it!
I knew that the story was comedic but let me tell you; some scenes made me cry. I connected with Jordan so well. Her energy and charisma just grabbed me and reeled me in. I understand the struggles that she went through, whether it was a romantic struggle or a personal struggle. I was very surprised that the story is not only about finding love, but it's about finding yourself. Jordans's character has the biggest growth throughout the book and it progressed well. Nothing felt rushed and I didn't feel that it was dragging on.
The read was super easy and fun. I felt like I was telling crazy sex stories with my girlfriends! All of the characters were likable, well except Raina; could not stand her!!! LOL!! The two love interests, Mark and Louis are sexy in their own way. Mark is a nerd who is killer in the sack, but has a bad case of commitment issues. While Louis, is sexy and sweet as hell, but a devout Catholic and is abstinent. So, you see her dilemma.
Overall, this was a great read! I read it in 2 days and stayed up until 4am just to finish it! Yes, it's that good! I couldn't put it down!! I will definitely recommend this to other readers and am looking forward to reading some of Andie's other work. :) ...more

The novel starts off with Rosalind, a strong, independent, and career-minded woman who realizes that everything she has worked so hard to build as her own, has no meaning if you can't share it with someone. She realizes that she's more lonely than ever, especially after her best friend gets engaged. So, Rosalind seeks out help from a job placement company and hires Xavier, the owner to find her a husband..she already has the gown..hehehe, yeah I just had to...
I enjoyed everything about this book. The pace was good; nothing felt too rushed or too slow. The writing was intelligent and well descriptive. The plot was amazing and the dialogue between Xavier and Rosalind was so precious and sweet. I mean, how can you not like this book? I loved Xavier! He is sexy, romantic, funny, a great dresser, a great dancer, and I bet he smells absolutely delicious! Yummmm!!! The connection between Rosalind and Xavier felt very real..nothing fake at all. They genuinely care about each other and I'll admit, some parts of the story gave me butterflies. I also enjoyed that the love story was just that; a love story. No erotica/hot sex scenes. It is a clean and fresh take on finding love when you least expect it. I highly recommend this story to all romance junkies out there and I will definitely be checking out other books by Killian. Wow!! What a great follow up to Living Again!! L.L. Collins hit the mark again!! From the very beginning, I was sucked in and could not put it down! Heck, I even remember staying up until 3am just to finish reading and I had to go to work the next day! But, it was worth it.
The story begins with Rachel who is living life "under the radar". She is a runaway living with a deep secret and a hidden past. She doesn't open up to any of her friends and has a string of meaningless relationships with men to avoid attachment and emotions. Her heart is forever locked away because she can only love one man; Devin. But Devin is gone; nowhere near her. She hasn't seen or heard from him in 5 years. Her life is sad, lonely, full of heartbreak and regret. But on that day, that Devin finally returns, can Rachel let go of the past and overcome her fears of heartbreak? Can Devin reach Rachel and show her how to live again?
Let me just say that Rachel goes through a lot of traumatic and heart-wrenching experiences in this book and I absolutely love her strength. No matter what happened, she never gave up and always fought back. She didn't try to hide herself from others. She is independent, sexy, smart, funny as hell, and empowering. Her character developed so much in this story and you can really tell that L.L. Collins put a lot of heart and soul into this story. The plot was great, the writing was superb, and the dialogue between the characters was on point. There is also some suspenseful scenes and I was on the edge of my seat. Devin is amazing! He is such a good compliment to Rachel. He is her protector and I loved it! He is also smokin hot and very "commanding" in the bedroom! HELLO!!!

Let me just say that this book was absolutely phenomenal!! I am completely and utterly shocked at how great this book truly is. Just reading the description, I knew to be prepared with tissues to alleviate the water works...well, I was not prepared enough. Wow! Let's start from the beginning...
Kayley Carlson's life was perfect. She had a great job, adoring parents, a cute little house, an amazing husband, and a baby on the way. How sweet right?? Psst, yeah I was jealous. lol. Unfortunately, her life took a horrible turn and her husband Alex passes away after being involved in a deadly car accident; only one month before her due date. This all happens within the first chapters. L.L. Collins had me balling like a baby; I could not help it. I felt crushed and defeated. I wanted to cry right along-side Kayley. How can someone go through all that and still survive; let alone, take care of a newborn?? With the help of her parents and her best friend, Emily, Kayley raises her daughter, Alexis as a widow. But, she's not exactly "living". She's stagnant, stalemate, oblivious to her surroundings. She goes through each day as a robot, hidden from the world and sheltered as her heart is still trying to piece itself back together.
It's one year later and Alex's suits are still in the closet; his shoes are still by the door; his cologne is still on the nightstand; Kayley hasn't recovered yet. On her daughter's first birthday, Kayley is rushed to the hospital after Alexis has a seizure. She's back in the same hospital where her husband died a year ago; except this time, her daughter is the patient. Luckily, LL.Collins is not that cruel and little baby Alexis is all healthy. This whole scene, I was on the edge of my seat. Talk about anxiety attack!!
Then, Dr. Ben Nichols arrives and there is an instant attraction between him and Kayley. Ben tries to get to know Kayley better but she's scared of opening up to people again. She has lost so much, how can she even think about dating someone? It's just too soon for her. She can't forget her husband. But with the help of Emily, Ben is given the chance to prove to Kayley that he can show her, not only to love again, but to live again.
The love story between them is so moving and magical; but yet believable at the same time. Ben is such a sweetheart and a true gentleman. From the very beginning, he cared for both Kayley and Alexis deeply. Plus he has a bangin hot body, a kick-ass Camaro, and a great job as a pediatrician. Oh and don't forget all of the romantic gestures. I just loved Dr. Yummy!! I might even have my husband read this book, so he can get a few pointers...lol. The love scenes were hot but not too erotic which was good. It was more about the emotion than the physical connections, and I loved that!
Kayley is such a strong character, yet she didn't even know it. I think that's why I connected with her the most. Even though she lost her husband and her life was practically crap, she didn't blame the world. She kept on going as best she could. I also loved all of the supporting characters; especially Emily and Rachel. They are the best friends a girl could ask for...always trying to do what's right for you, even though you might not agree.
I was so glued to this book; I stayed up until 4am just to finish it!! Yes, it's that freakin' good!!! I am so happy I read this book. Yes, its a tear jerker; actually it made me ugly cry. After finishing the novel, my husband asked me about it, and as I was describing the plot, I cried again! L.L. Collins, what have you done to me? It is about 24 hours later, and I kid you not, I could probably cry right now. But it's not sad tears; its tears of happiness and joy! Happiness for reading such an awesome love story and joy for being so proud of L.L. Collins. I cannot believe this is her debut novel! This story rocked!! All I can say, is that I am an official "fan" of hers; well, actually more like stalker...lol
This book is on my list of top 5 books I have read this year and I've read almost 100 books this year! Everyone needs to read this book. Just do it!!

It was sexier, funnier, and so much more dramatic and suspenseful. The writing was more in depth and I connected better with the characters. Surprisingly, I liked Taron more in this book. There were times when he had me laughing out loud, especially when shouting out the toasts for more tequila shots!! Hahaha, I just loved them!
I just adored the connection between Ivy and Taron. The sex crazed, panty-stealing god finally met his match! Ivy is hilarious, confident, and so freakin feisty..how can Taron resist? The book starts off about 3 months after In a Heartbeat ends and jumps right into Ivy and Taron hitting it off. Let's just say, that Ivy has some hot moves, especially in a moving vehicle. Talk about daring!! They are so perfectly matched for each other. Unfortunately, Ivy is attacked in her apartment by a degenerate creep and is in complete shock. I felt so bad for her. She lost all of her confidence and spunk. I cried a few tears for her. No one should have to go through that.
After the attack, Taron steps us and takes car of her. He slowly begins to help bring back her confidence, independence, and sex-appeal. This book displayed a different side to Taron. The sex-crazed god was no longer there and in his place, was a devoted man, taking care of the woman he loves. He does anything and everything to keep her safe. Ivy needs Taron but she doesn't want to be a distraction, especially if it messes with his band, Rebel Walking. She could never forgive herself if he quit the band for her. What could she do? Can she trust him? She knew about all of his past discretions. Will he change his ways and be with her, and only her?
The story goes into depths of inner turmoil and struggles. Ivy must overcome her attack and jump back into her old lifestyle while Taron is right there, ready to catch her, but will she let him???
Hilary Storm did a fantastic job with this book. I am so proud of her and I cannot wait to read the next one. Hopefully, we get to read about Luke and Holden. :) ...more

So, if I was judging a book by its cover, I would assume this novel has a sci-fi feel to it. Well, I was completely wrong!!!! I really enjoyed this book and was very surprised by how well it was written. Julia Bramer does a great job of describing all of the characters, locations, and situations; especially the sex scenes! Whewwww!!! This book was hot, hot, hot!! I mean, you already can tell by looking at the teasers!! Just smokin!!! Christian Grey and Gideon Cross better watch out, because Jed Carson is coming through!!!
I really enjoyed the relationship between Olivia and Jed. I'll admit everything happened a little too fast for me; I would have liked to see a little more "build up", but it was still a good read! At some points, I busted out laughing to the point my stomach hurt. Heck, while I was making dinner one night, I thought about the novel, and laughed out loud again! LOL!!! I finished this book in two days; only because I have to work; otherwise, it would have been one day. The plot twists were unpredictable and captivating! Beware, there is a major cliffhanger so I definitely need to read the next book, Side Effects. I love when a book has the male’s POV and not only do we get one but we get two male POV’s!! Loved it!!! The story begins with Emma, a 23 year old woman, who is trying to cope with being single after a devastating breakup with her high school and college sweetheart. Emma is heartbroken, crushed, and frankly a little depressed. It’s been almost a year after her breakup with Josh and she still hasn’t moved on. Until she finds out her ex has moved on first, with another woman. After that, Emma realizes she needs a “wake up call” and needs to fix her life. She begins to exude more self-confidence, dressing with style, applying some make-up, and just starting to smile again. Little does she know, her new attitude on life, grabs the attention of both Seth and Nick. Now, let me tell you; both of these men are so hot and sexy; it was unbearable for me sometimes. LOL…Seth is charming, passionate, honest, and just a wholesome guy. He cared about Em from the very beginning. I loved, loved, loved that he was shy and nervous around her. It just made his character more believable. Then there’s Nick; total opposite from Seth. He’s a player only looking to score with Em at first, but realizes he wants more. He brings out the “inner sex goddess” within her. Nick was sexy, cocky (in a good way), smart, and so freakin hilarious. I loved it when he pretended to be a zombie..hahaha I was cracking up. :) Overall, this book was phenomenal! It took me 3 days to read it, only because I work full-time, so I needed to sleep. I started out reading this book with lots of high hopes and expectations; unfortunately they were never fulfilled. I just couldn't get into it. It felt too rushed for some reason therefore, I felt I never got to fully understand the characters. Don't get me wrong, the book was very well written and some parts did make me laugh out loud, but something didn't sit well with me. I've read erotica in the past and I know the basics and what the stories usually en tale, but sad to say, this story was not it. I've read Fifty Shades of Grey, The Crossfire Trilogy, and The Sweet Surrender Series. All of those books are BDSM and erotica but I still felt the romance, the passion, the lust, and the happiness. A book should pull you into it, and make you feel a part of it, and this one did not.
For one, I did not like Luke at all. I felt he was too overpowering, arrogant, and he was so cruel and frankly a little abusive for my tastes. I didn't feel anything from him; no compassion, not one ounce of love, or even maturity, especially for being a 45-year old man with his act together. Every time Jane asked a question about his past, he just brushed her off and "disciplined" her instead for acting out. I think I would have been able to enjoy the book more if I actually felt like he loved Jane and adored her as he said he did. I just didn't believe him. I didn't like Jane either. I think she made idiotic and impulsive decisions, basically dropping her life, just for one man, after only knowing him for a few weeks. It's a shame I couldn't get into this story; it is just too depressing for me and downright humiliating. I won't be reading the remaining books of the series, but I hope they are better and more believable. ...more

Mira is confused and believes she is in love with Skylar and wants to be with him. But how can she betray Danny? She doesn't want to hurt him. Skylar is torn between his love for Mira and his loyalty to Danny. How can you steal your best friend's girl? That is just wrong! Can he give up the love of his life to ensure Danny's happiness???
The book was a roller coaster ride of emotions and downright heartache! There were times when I was so pissed off at Mira, I wanted to throw my iPad. I kept thinking to myself, this cannot be happening!! But after my tantrum ended and I looked at the bigger picture, I realized you can't just move on with someone without fully understanding the whole story. You need to dig deep down inside of yourself and be honest with yourself. You have to let go of your fears and insecurities and just hope that your choice is the right one.
I really enjoyed this book because Ashley shows us the connection between 3 friends, actually more like three soul-mates. The love between Danny, Skylar, and Mira is so authentic and real, it's hard not to miss that they all really do care about one another. Yes, this story is about the love of a man and a woman, but it's more than that. It's the love between all three of them and all three have to hang on to hope. Hope that one day, no matter who Mira chooses, they will have each other in the long run.
I am so honored to have read this series and I am so proud of Ashley Suzanne. Her writing is so fresh and honest. She literally paints pictures of the story and I felt like I was watching a movie. I laughed, I cried, I rejoiced, and I am in awe! Ashley Suzanne wrote a great piece of literature and this series has truly become one of my favorites. She is an amazing author and I cannot wait to read the next story of the series, Facade!! ...more
I was pleasantly surprised with this read and in fact a little taken by it. When I finally finished, I turned off my iPad and let out a soft sigh; not really sure why I did. Perhaps it was because the book left an impression, a mark, a trace, a brand. I didn’t think I would have this kind of reaction. I felt like I needed to cry; not because I was sad, but rather happy and proud of the ending.
At first, the book was a little hard to get into. I wasn’t a fan of Elizabeth; she rubbed me the wrong way, and I didn’t like Stephan too much either. But as the story progressed, I became engrossed and trapped within. The love story between Elizabeth and Stefan is not your average “teeny- bopper” romance. In fact, it was rather tragic; filled with despair, heart-ache, betrayal, and lies. I deeply felt that they were made for each other and damn, I got suckered right into their little love affair.
Then, Dr. Simon Worthington comes strolling in like “hot stuff”. I mean, I could just feel the sex-appeal radiating off of him..from a book!! Holy smokes, I was a “goner”. I never thought in my wildest dreams that the game “Simon Says” could be so erotic and head-spinning. Right, when I was on Stefan’s team, Simon pulls this move! Simon is a tremendous character in the story. He is genuine, understanding, nurchuring, and just a good and humble man.
Overall, this was a great debut from C.S. Janey and I look forward to reading her future work. I highly recommend this and mark this on my list as “Approved”....more

But, I decided to give it a shot and figure out what the hype was all about. Surprisingly, it’s a very well written book. It’s only about 60 pages, so fairly quick to read. I would say it contains about 20 poems. The poetry is exquisite and breath-taking. The amount of detail that is laced along each and every line is incredible. During some points, I felt like I was watching a movie instead of reading a poem. All of the poems are fun and erotic but the language is not offensive at all. It’s actually very calm but sexy at the same time. It’s a short collection of wonderful and sensual poetry; its hard not to love. This is a skillfully written piece of literature. Well done, GPA!! I highly recommend this book for all lovers out there. ...more
