We are still focused on Max and Gabe, two hybrid shifters in a very troubled world. Things are still unsettled in the country. So much political anti-shifter rhetoric remains, impacting the future of their entire species. Gabe and Max not only have to foster their relationship, raise children, but also deal with challenge after challenge this author throws at them. There is violence in this book, sometimes graphic, but all related to the story and not just to glorify violence. I felt on edge the entire book, not sure where things would lead. I took a few breaks just to process as I read. Great story.
