I started this one a while back but ultimately put it on hold for bit. I just wasn't sure how I felt about Rachel and Cal's beginning. But there's just something about this world and these characters and the way Ms. Kent writes that called me back. So here I am, finishing this book and even shedding a few tears in the process. I really, really wanted their story, and now that I have it, I am really happy I came back to it. Books 1 and 2 in the series felt very similar to one another. I'm happy that this one took a turn from that and felt a little more like Last Light (which I loved). Rachel and Cal learning to adjust to a life where it's just the two of them (and obviously falling in lurve in the process). It wasn't easy, but they got there in the end....more

You know what threw it off for me a little? Him calling her "sweetheart." It's weird, I know, but it didn't feel like the right term of endearment. Sometimes terms of endearments just aren't necessary, ya know?

I totally forgot when I started reading this last night that it was a novella. I don't love quick romance (I like the story to be a slow burn), but this was still pretty cute read. Not sure I love how it ends, but we don't always get to choose how the HEA plays out. Anyhoo.
If you're in the mood for a sweet alien romance to read in one sitting, this isn't the worst option out there!...more
