Angela Ruth Strong has written a sweet romcom in her book Husband Auditions. This story is based on 1950’s advice on how to get a husband. The advice is way out of date, causing the scenarios in this book to be absolutely hilarious. The story was a little hard to get into and readers may see themselves from the outside looking in on the story rather than being sucked in, but this light hearted and quirky story is still an enjoyable read.

The author does an amazing job of writing the time travel part of the story in such a way that it is completely explained why and how the time travel takes place, thus making the story entirely believable. The first half of the story does a lot of laying down the foundations of the time travel, so it does take a little while for the swoon worthy romance to happen. Readers may get a little impatient waiting so long, but it is definitely worth the wait for the second half of the book! The romance in this story is a bit intense and heated and would not be good for Hedlund’s young adult audiences. Another amazing story from this beloved and well-known author!

Bergren has written an intriguing fantasy story that also intertwines the Christian faith. The story is told from multiple viewpoints, making it hard to get into the story, and character development was lacking. The premise of the story was promising, but just didn’t seem to pan out. If readers stick with the story though, it is both a suspenseful and spiritual journey. The first book in the series, Begotten sets readers up to dive into the next two books of the trilogy.
