"I Cannot Control Everything Forever" is English professor and writer Emily Bloom's memoir of infertility, pregnancy, miscarriage and parenting. Bloom's daughter, called Willie in the book, was born hard of hearing and at one year old diagnosed as having type 1 diabetes. Bloom discusses many topics that will be relatable to parents of young children, such as the struggle between creative time, time to yourself, and time with your children. While I sometimes skimmed over the more academic sections where she explored technology and culture, I thoroughly enjoyed this memoir.
