This was such a great sequel! Ali is Christopher's assistant and loves her job, but when her recent relationship with a nefarious paparazzo goes sour, she somehow has to gain an invitation to the most exclusive wedding of the season, none other than the wedding of Christopher's best friend. And considering the leverage the paparazzo has over her, the two enter into a fake dating scenario to get the paparazzo what he wants before he takes drastic measures that will ruin her life and career forever.
I really loved these two! Christopher was so sweet and protective, and I really felt for Ali and her situation. All in all, this was a splendid addition to the suspenseful Living in Cincy series! :)...more

This instalment in the Sun City series was a really sweet, sapphic romance about learning how to fall in love again, when your first love is regrettably unrequited. Liv doesn’t quite know what the future holds for her until she recruits someone a lot more responsible to help set her life back on track, and naturally, romance ensues. As with Get Even, it was short, fun and I can’t wait for the next! ...more

I'd never read a Reverse Harem (RH) novel before, but I honestly loved this one! Three Kisses More is a fun holiday romance following Sephy and her connection with a triad of three yummy men - of which my favourite was Julien <3. And considering how frosty it is in the mountains, I didn't expect this business trip rom-com to be quite so hot. ;)...more

I’m not certain what I expected from this Hades and Persephone retelling, but this was quite different from the many others I’ve read in the past. It was definitely more of a rom-com, complete with a very light tone and a lot of Gen-Z language. The snappy and witty banter, however, was a lot of fun and made it an easy read, regardless of the book’s length.
What I found most intriguing was the author’s choices in regards to her world building. Firstly, she refers to the Underworld consistently as ‘Hell,’ which is unusual, considering that the terminology is more common within Abrahamic religions and its etymological roots can be found in Norse mythology (Hel was the goddess of the Norse underworld, Niflheim), not Greek.
Next was the problem many authors find the most difficult to explain when retelling Greek mythology…the rather incestuous family tree. The author’s chosen explanation was that Kronos’ only child was Zeus. The other Kronids — Hestia, Demeter, Hera, Hades and Poseidon — were the stolen children of other titans, which then creates so many more questions. Why did Kronos eat his own siblings’ children? What then happened to his siblings…or were they not siblings either? Where do the Olympians stand, or what is their relationship with these titans’ other children? Are Hecate, Helios and Selene, for example, siblings of the Olympians now? Also, where does Chiron fall in this? He was also a son of Kronos.
In addition, Demeter was much older than Hades (as they were regurgitated at different times), which meant that he didn’t really know Demeter (nor was related to her) and was thus, much closer in age to Persephone. This was definitely one way to solve the age-gap issue and a unique take on the timeless story of the birth of the Olympians.
Essentially all of these changes (plus many more) made me incredibly curious as to how the older myths have now changed as a result of the author’s world building. I’d love for her to write some books that explore the earlier myths, so that I can see how these new myths will unfold for myself.
Personally, the most interesting part of the book for me was the reasoning as to why she had to split her time between the earth and the underworld (but I shan’t spoil what it is :P).
All in all, this was a very unique retelling with many of the tropes romance readers will love. I also appreciate it being set in an Ancient Greek-esque world, since most Hades and Persephone retellings can be categorised as urban fantasy, due to being set in the modern world. It was a refreshing change indeed....more

I really loved this! It was fluffy and romantic, and I genuinely can't wait for the next Sun City instalment. This followed a singer and a footballer (the American kind) going through the trials of uni. Ryan was such a kind - yet yummy - hero, and Jamie was quite the relatable heroine. Seeing them come together was so lovely and I enjoyed every moment of this fast-paced, contemporary read.
