Christopher is off-limits, a fact Ali struggles to remember every time she’s faced with her boss. So when she’s forced to make a deal with him that blurs the line between the professional and personal, she knows she’s in trouble.
Given an ultimatum by her paparazzo ex, Ali has sixty days to either stop him—with a little help from her boss—or be forced to leak the most exclusive wedding of the year, giving her ex the scoop of a lifetime and forcing Christopher to betray his closest friend.
As the deadline nears and tensions rise between them, Ali starts to wonder if her heart was the thing most at risk after all.
Jade Church is an avid reader and writer of spicy romance. She loves sweet and swoony love interests who aren’t scared to smack your ass and bold female leads. Jade currently lives in the U.K. and spends the majority of her time reading and writing books, as well as binge re-watching The Vampire Diaries.
Thank you NetGalley for granting me access to this book in exchange for an honest review.
After reading ‘In too Deep’ I was hesitant to pick up this book, but I decided to give Jade Church a second chance and start this book without any prejudice or bad feelings. And I have to say, this book was maybe not good, but better than the first book.
One of my problems with ‘In too deep’ was the writing and it still doesn’t work for me. It felt off the whole time, but since there are so many raving reviews for this book, this seems to be a me-problem.
I have to say I liked the characters in this book a little more than in the first book.
Will I pick up another book by Jade Church? Probably not. It wouldn’t be fair to me or her. I don’t seem to be compatible with her writing style, but if you don’t have the same problem, especially with 3rd person narration, then you should give it a go.
“I meant it, Ali. I’m yours, for as long as you’ll have me.”
I’ve read a lot of boss/assistant romances but none of them have had a boss who doesn’t start a grumpy asshole - which is what this one had.
Tempt My Heart followed Christian and Ali who had worked together for years. As his personal assistant they had always been close and developed a friendship over the years, while Ali was harbouring a secret crush. She’d managed to push it away for the most part but when her ex forces her into a fake relationship with Christian, everything she has put up to close out her feeling come crumbling and the lines blue between fake and real.
I liked the characters in this, but especially Christian. He was really sweet and funny right from the beginning and would do anything to keep her safe and away from any harm coming her way. Ali’s been through a lot in her life, especially in recent years with her father’s deaths so Christian is exactly what she needed.
I think this was fine. I got an arc copy of this last year before it came out from netgalley and I never got around to reading it so I finally have. I think it’s good, I would pick up something by this author in the future. It wasn’t my favourite romance book but I’ve also been in a bad reading slump lately so a quick and suspenseful read like this was something I probably needed to help me out of it.
Thank you Netgalley for providing me a copy of this book and it is my voluntary review.
This was my first time read of Jade's book and one of the interconnected book of the series but could be read as Standalone.
Alison was well aware that her attractive boss, Christopher was off-limits, she couldn't help but develop a crush on him, making it challenging to remain professional in her role as his assistant. To make matters worse, her ex-boyfriend blackmailed her, insisting that she leak exclusive photos from a well-known couple's wedding who had close ties to Christopher, or else he would expose her.
With a fast-moving story full of romantic suspense, I never lost interest. The plot's seamless pacing, infused with love, flirtatious exchanges, and heartwarming moments, was truly enjoyable.
Who would have guessed that the kind and caring Christopher would be a dirty talker? The spicy scenes were scorching hot, leading up to an action-packed climax before the characters found their happily ever after.
Tempt My Heart by Jade Church is book Two in the Living in Cincy Series. This is the story of Christopher and Alison 'Ali'. Alison has crush on her boss but she knows it can't go anywhere so she is a daily fight with her feelings. Then her ex-boyfriend has threaten her with a tape of them. If she doesn't get the information he wants he is going to expose it. This information she has to get from her boss about a high power wedding that is happening. This starts their story. Enjoyed
Thank you to the author for sending me an ARC copy
This book was a fast-paced read with a promising plot but the writing style felt lacking, it felt as if someone was telling me a story rather than me experiencing the story for myself, as you know I'm not much for a 3rd POV type of book.
Ali feels torn between maintaining her limits as a professional and the attraction she has for Christopher, her boss. But she was forced to turn to him for assistance as her ex threatens to expose her unless she helps him snoop on a certain wedding, putting both her profession and her emotions at danger.
Ali and Christopher's connection is expertly developed by Jade, producing real tension and lovely moments, plus Christopher sense of humor was lit!! In all honesty, I wasn't prepared for this amount of spice, and i loved it, it was refreshing to see Ali take the lead in the bedroom.
Book two of the Living in Cincy series, and I just devoured it in one sitting. It's impossible to put Jade Church' books down.
Although it's the second in the series, these books can be read as standalones. Characters from the previous book are mentioned, which I think is great as we still get to follow their story, too.
Fake dating.. I'm all for it... I felt the chemistry burning off the page between Christopher and Ali. Can we just appreciate the store scene!!!! Like bring me a woman that does that!!!
I love all the spice Jade brings to her books. It feels like there is no holding back with the limit the smut is going to reach!!
Thank you for having me on your ARC team and for a copy of the book.
christopher oh hunny, i am obsessed with you! and the ✨dress scene✨ (iykyk) that was something else 🥵
i absolutely loved this, we love a fake dating trope. everything about this was incredible. definitely pulled me out of my reading slump too! i was hooked the whole way 🫶🏻
— also thank you an advanced copy of this book & for allowing me to still be part of your arc team 🩷🩷
I wish GRs allowed half stars. This was a 3.5 star. It had so much potential but it just fell short for me. Plot etc really good, but delivery lacked just a little. But I will continue to read this author.
Thank you, NetGalley for granting me access to this book in exchange for an honest review
Oh, this book!
First, I didn't know it was part of a series, so I read it as a stand-alone (BUT IT WORKED). Second, I was hooked from the beginning and devoured this book in 2 days. Third, THE SPICE! I did not expect the spice in this book, it was amazing! (Sometimes spice can be too cringy or TOO detailed but this was perfect)
I love the characters and the plot. The book is very well written. The only thing I hated was the 3rd person's POV, I feel like it disconnects a little BUT I really enjoyed this book.
This was the fast paced, and spicy read I didn’t know I needed. It had the perfect amount of flirty banter that had me giggling, and then spice that had me 🥵🥵. It had SO many good tropes: fake dating, touch her and die, boss x assistant. I devoured this book in a day and it’s taken over my entire brain.
Jades writing flowed so smoothly and the plot was never lost. Everything written was purposeful and genuinely intriguing.
THE DRESS SHOP SCENE YA’LL 🥵 Just do yourself a favour and read it.
💻 Boss/Assistant 🦋 Curvy fmc 👩🏼❤️💋👨🏻 Wedding (not between the mc) ❤️ ‘It’s always been you’ ⚡️ Blackmailed
TW : blackmailed, mention of abuse…
When Ali’s ex-boyfriend starts to blackmail her with a sexe tape he filmed without her knowing, she doesn’t have a clue what she could do. He’s asking her something impossible : seducing her boss in order to get an invitation at a celebrity wedding. Her ex doesn’t know that she has been having a huge crush on her boss and that He couldn’t possibly want her back… Does he ?
This book has most of everything to make a great romance : two great characters, an obvious attraction, office romance, awesome group of friends, a wedding setting, a lot of drama…. And still, with all that, I didn’t think it was that good. I don’t like to criticize a book too much, but I can’t really help myself with this one. I didn’t hate it, but I didn’t like it either…
Beware of spoilers : (and not too nice things unfortunately)
I didn’t like the blackmailed/linked sextape drama. At the beginning it’s supposed to be a secret, but everyone ends up knowing ? And nobody can stop it ? I am not specialized at all in that sort of thing, but usually when this situation happens, you actually keep it to yourself because you’re afraid. You don’t go telling everybody. (and let’s not talk about all the rich friends Ali has, but none of them are capable of doing anything with the police)
I also didn’t really like Christopher and Ali’s relationship… I didn’t feel any chemistry between them, and I swear, I’m a romantic, I’m usually seeing chemistry EVERYWHERE. I think I would have like Ali to really seduce him (secretly), him slowly falling in love with her while she’s lying to him, and then the big drama/revelation happening !
Twisted Hate had a similar synopsys I think, but the blackmailed sex tape was so much better and also created so much more drama !
Again, I’m really sorry about this review. I don’t like to leave bad reviews about books but I’m trying to be honest, and it was really cringey for me….
I got this book as an ARC from Netgalley and the publisher.
I received an ARC and I am leaving a voluntary review of Tempt My Heart.
Tempt My Heart is the second book in Living in Cincy. It is a standalone although there are spoilers for In Too Deep in Tempt My Heart, so if you are planning to read the first book, then read that first and then come onto this one. Tempt My Heart contains themes that might be triggering for some readers, so do proceed with caution.
Blurb: Christopher is off-limits, a fact Ali struggles to remember every time she’s faced with her boss.
Review: Alison, the FMC, is in a predicament, a predicament that might make her ot break her. Especially, when it involves her boss, Christopher, the MMC. I love how Christopher is off-limits and a forbidden fruit for Ali.
I hate how Ali's ex, Jared, makes her fo things that is morally incorrect and I hate him so much omg. But I love how Christopher is there for Ali's rescue. When Ali told what predicament she found herself in, Christopher didn't hesitate to believe her. Can you see the want and mutual pining😩 I love how difficult it was for Christopher to keep his eyes off of Ali🫦
When Chris convinces Ali to stay in the company and let him handle him, it felt like he is really trying to handle the situation so that they can get out of it fast and Chris can do whatever he likes (with consent) to Ali. The dress purchasing scene🤌🏽🥵🫦😮💨🔥 the "crawl to me" by Ali was so hot, I combusted, and the "good boy", dayum even better🌶️😮💨🔥🤤
LOVED READING ALISON AND CHRISTOPHER'S STORY🤌🏽🤌🏽🤌🏽HIGHLY RECOMMENDED🫶🏼🫦🌶️😮💨🔥🩵🫰🏽❤️
Alison is Christopher’s personal assistant and living with her two friends, Jesse and Freya. I wonder if we’ll get books for these two? Maybe…
Christopher owns Horizons with Mr David Blake from our first book. And he’s the one Rose had a crush on growing up. But now engaged to the friend. Cute. Or, whatever.
And the ex – Jared – has a sex tape of Alison. Oh another one with a sex tape. Jared is blackmailing Ali to get Christopher to invite her to Rose & David’s wedding so she can get pictures for Jared and he gets “the scoop” on the wedding of the century! And Ali doesn’t know what to do.
Here’s a thought, maybe go to your boss of two years and explain what’s happening so he doesn’t invite you (not that he would have anyone of course) and there we go! Or, at least with Christopher’s help (and influence) he may be able to get Jared in police custody… I don’t know. Maybe I’m old and I think talking and honesty isn’t done enough… … OK. Ignore what I said, I’ve read on and she’s done exactly that. Phew! A character with common sense! Anyway…
I don’t want to give much away so I will say minimal and you will have to read it to see what happens: she’s told Christopher what Jared – urgh, Jared – has asked of her to do and he agrees to fake date her… or is it really all fake?
I like Ali. I feel like we could be friends. And Christopher seems … OK. I don’t know, something was missing from him… oh yeah, a personality. IM SORRY JADE!!! Christopher just fell a little flat for me. He felt more of a side character than the main characters love interest. It didn’t seem to be a story about him in any way. It was more Ali and Jared… and at times Ali and Denver. Jade could have done a lot with him liking bossy women in the bedroom, but it only came out once? Twice if you count when he told Ali to tell him what she wanted him to do. I don’t think that counts. He’s more of a pleasure dom than anything… once you finish (oh, hello) you’ll understand I think. All in all, I liked this book more than the first. Mainly because Ali had the common sense to do all the right things in this situation. I did enjoy the fact that the miscommunication shit was scrubbed out quick and it didn’t lead to unnecessary drama and then not talking for four chapters while they talk to everyone else about the problems. I’m excited for book three. I hope it’s Denver’s story. No. Jesse. NO!!! Alison’s mum! Yes, that’s a story I NEED to happen!

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and Jade Church, and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Thank you NetGalley for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
TLDR; Fast-paced read with a promising plot but the writing style felt lacking.
This was my first time reading one of Jade Church’s books. Between the raving reviews on BookTok and the… less than favourable opinions I’d seen elsewhere, I wasn’t sure what to expect but the plot seemed interesting and I approached the read with an open mind.
I was looking for a fast-paced easy read to get me out of a reading slump and I have to say this book delivered. Honestly I read the majority of it in one sitting and felt the chapters were flying by.
HOWEVER, as I’ve seen other readers express, I think the author’s writing style just isn’t for me. I found it simplistic and at times felt as if someone was *telling* me a story rather than me *experiencing* the story for myself. I’ve seen some other reviewers mention it kinda reads like Wattpad and I have to admit, in some places, I agree.
Now for the tropes: Fake dating, secret crushes, touch her and I’ll kill you… Yes yes yes! I was all for it when reading the blurb and during the early stages of the book.
But :( the MCs got together wayyy too fast for my liking. I do admit I prefer a much slower burn and this could be a case of personal preference, but it honestly got to the point where I skipped over the last 3 spicy scenes cause I was bored of it. Again, I know this might be personal preference rather than a negative point, but the plot quickly lost that juicy tension that the fake dating trope can create and I was very disappointed to find this.
Now I won’t say this book put me off Jade Church forever. I already impulsively pre-ordered her upcoming Ashvale release before finishing Tempt My Heart (cause vampires are my weakness and I couldn’t help myself). Soooo we’ll see how that goes.
Thank you Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I didn't know this book has a prequel but it's okay I managed to understand the book as it is without reading the first book. So basically Tempt My Heart is about Ali, who works as a secretary for Christopher, her boss. And she got blackmailed by her ex-bf to seduce & use him so she could get a leak to an exclusive wedding of Christopher's bestfriend (David Blake and his partner, Rose). So imagine the confusion and devastation Ali faced cause she couldn't betray her boss which also has been a good friend of hers (which she also crushing hard) but she also didn't want to get blackmailed by Jared (ex bf). Hence the story went from there...
I must say I was surprised after reading this book, cause I was expecting to enjoy it but I just couldn't. Personally Jared irked me so much. I couldn't understand how someone with huge influence couldn't get himself an inside-scoop to the private wedding of David and Rose. He had to use Ali which took a lot of time spent to actually get her to do it. He could just hired a professional or something on the wedding day and boom got himself what he wants. Why bother using Ali when he could get a shortcut?
Other than that, I personally didn't buy the chemistry between Christopher and Ali. When the 'scenes' came, I cringed bcz I couldn't see the connection. Maybe it was because of the sudden attraction or it felt like an insta love to me. I need more convincing in regards of their chemistry.
But I like the writing of this author. It was pretty easy to understand and read. I actually hate writings that are hard to understand or use too much difficult words, but this book was great. It didn't confuse me or anything.
Overall, this book didn't left an impression on me, but I think other people who have different taste than me might enjoy it.

This is a contemporary romance that explores the forbidden attraction between Ali, an employee, and Christopher, her off-limits boss. Filled with tension, secrets, and high stakes, this book offers a compelling blend of romance and suspense that keeps readers engaged from start to finish.
The heroine, Ali, finds herself torn between her professional boundaries and the irresistible pull she feels towards Christopher, her boss. When circumstances force them into a deal that blurs the line between their personal and professional lives, Ali's world becomes even more complicated. With her ex threatening to expose a high-profile wedding unless she intervenes, Ali has no choice but to turn to Christopher for help, risking both her job and her heart.
Jade Church skillfully develops the chemistry between Ali and Christopher, creating palpable tension and intense emotional stakes. The forbidden nature of their relationship adds a layer of excitement and anticipation to the narrative. As the deadline looms and the pressure mounts, the characters' vulnerabilities and desires are laid bare, leading to a rollercoaster of emotions.
This story delves into the complexities of forbidden love and the choices people make when they are faced with high stakes. With well-developed characters, palpable chemistry, and a balance of romance and suspense, this book is a satisfying read for fans of contemporary romance. Jade Church's storytelling prowess shines through, making this a worthwhile addition to any romance lover's bookshelf.

*3.5 stars. Firstly I'd like to thank the author, Jade Church, for the eARC for an honest review as part of her ARC team. I was really looking forward to this one because I really loved the first one in the series - In Too Deep.
I did find the beginning a little slow. I was just waiting for Ali to tell Christopher about the private video her ex was threatening her with. I did have a problem with this storyline from the beginning due to the fact that threatening someone with a private video has been illegal since 2021 thanks to the TheNakedThreat campaign. If the police are in his pocket go to different police. He ended up getting arrested in the end anyway. A lot of trouble could have been saved. But it's fiction so we move.
I enjoyed the spice in this book which I always do with Jade Church's books. I did find this book rushed. There was a tiny bit of slow burn but then they fell in love and the fake dating trope lasted a very short amount of time which was really disappointing as it's one of my favourite tropes. Also the resolution with the ex being arrested seemed to happen pretty quickly. I also love the 'touch her and die' trope but it didn't fit in this book. Christopher is a softie and that is how he is presented throughout - the touch her and die situations just didn't fit with who he is as a character.
I did enjoy having Rose and Blake in this book! My favs from In Too Deep. When I finished the last chapter and turned to the Epilogue I was shocked to see it so quickly end. Overall, it was a quick easy romance read with a few flaws.

The amazing jade Church, delivering again in this great fast pace, spicy workplace romance. This is the second book of the "living in cincy " series of stand alone romances, with "in too deep" being the first. I absolutely enjoyed "in too deep", but for me, this one was even better. Maybe because I liked the characters better and found Christopher's personality much more attractive than Blake's. As for the FMC, it also helps that she is a working person instead of a socialite. I love to read about rich people, but generally, I feel more connected to books with more "normal" people.
You can read this book without reading "in too deep". It gives enough information to not feel lost as to why is happening what's happening. But if you intend on reading "in too deep", try reading it first, as this one is quite spoilery. As I said, this is quite a fast paced romance with suspense and quite a difficult situation for the MC, but I loved Allie's integrity, how lying and doing the wrong thing was always the most unlikely option for her. It is refreshing and we need more of it in books. I never lost interest in the story and read the whole thing in a day. The spice is really good and varied. I loved the semy public spicy scenes. That's my kind of kink.
There are new characters here I would love to read about more too, like Jesse and Freya, but I am still praying for Noah's story 🙏 just saying.
Tempt My Heart is a drama and suspense fuelled romance from the start. I found it difficult to absorb the plot, characters and setting due to the drama picking up immediately. Ali is being blackmailed by her journalist ex, who holds a sexually exploitative video from her time with him and demands information on her boss, Christopher, and his colleague/friend. The two already have an established friendship, as she is his assistant and appears to hover on the boundary on flirting, but very mildly. Chris definitely has some feelings for her. Ali eventually cracks after Jared, her horrible blackmailer, becomes more violent and threatening and reveals to Chris what's going on. It does take a while, but once she tells him, he agrees to go along with the plan and they fake date. It doesn't go on without the odd hiccup, but it's the type of book you read in one sitting to enjoy the rollercoaster of plot points and emotion. I haven't rated it higher as I didn't feel a connection to the characters. I think Ali could have resolved things sooner by communicating with Chris and his colleagues sooner and speaking to authorities. The beginning of the book starts very abruptly too. I honestly thought I had missed a chapter when I started because it jumped right into blackmail without any prior context. Thank you for the ARC!
▪︎ romantic suspense ▪︎ 3rd POV ▪︎ spicy 🌶 ▪︎ banter ▪︎ "touch her and die" vibes ▪︎ interconnected series ▪︎ workplace romance ▪︎ fake dating
Hot DAYUM!!! 🥵🔥
First of all thank you Jade for the opportunity to read this one - it absolutely blew me away!
I completely went into this one blind, it's book two in an INTERCONNECTED SERIES - so whilst it can be read as a standalone if you haven't read book one and you're going to I would suggest doing that before reading book two as there are some spoilers. That being said I WAS HOOKED!
Everyone knows I'm not much for a 3rd POV type of book but this one flowed so effortlessly that I didn't even care. From the moment I started this I was pulled in by the banter and the characters.
Ali the FMC is being blackmailed by her sneaky ass slime ball ex boyfriend and her alpha "touch her and die" boss Chris (who she secretly has a crush on - because workplace romance right 🥰) comes in to save the day!
It doesn't take long for this partnership to get steamy and heat up. And boy was I here for it 🥵 I simply have no words for how the spice in this book made me feel ...
Fake dating, billionaire CEO x employee (PA), light to medium spice, soft d/s dynamic that switches Ali has a crush on her boss Christopher, but until now she has never made a move. What changed? Her paparazzo ex has given her an ultimatum; she has sixty days to either stop him or be forced to leak this year's most exclusive wedding, neither of which she can do without her boss's help. The story starts in media res which I wasn't expecting, so it threw me a little at first, but it made sense a few pages in. I thought the premise was interesting, the story was objectively well-written, and the characters were likeable and worked well together. Unfortunately, the book just didn't click for me, I think it's because I found it too fast-paced and plot-driven as I tend to prefer books with significant character development. Overall it was a good book that I enjoyed reading, and whilst it was not quite my cup of tea, I do think it's worth a read for people who enjoy the tropes, pacing, and focus of this book. Thank you to NetGalley, the publishers, and the author for the Advanced Reader Copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
a big thank you to Booksprout and the author for the ARC!🤍
this was such a fun and quick read!
Ali's being threatened by her ex and needs to seduce her boss to get access to an exclusive wedding
she confides in Christopher and he agrees to be seduced by her and they start a fake dating game that turns real very quick.
i'm not a big 3rd person POV reader, but i didn't mind it in this book. I do think it would've been a bit more interesting if we had a 1st person POV. this way, as a reader we would've been a bit more connected.
the story itself had a good plot imo and was fun to read! i never got bored and finished the book in a day and a half.
Ali n Christopher have a boss X assistant relationship that goes from fake to real! i love this trope!!
he takes care of her and would honestly hurt whoever dares to touch her!! --> 'If you like your hands attached to your body then I suggest you take them the fuck off of her.'
the spice was surprisingly very good. i honestly didn't expect it, but it was a fun surprise nonetheless!.

This book was suspenseful from the start. It tugged at my heart in a more personal way due to past experiences with an ex-boyfriend, so I couldn't wait to see the outcome of the horrible ex.
This book had suspense, spice, a little humor, and was all-around a good read. It was fast-paced and honestly left me wanting more to the story. I really liked the writing dynamic and dialogue, and the spicy scenes were hot. I was left breathless a couple of times throughout the book. This is the book for you if you enjoy the off-limits romance, falling for your boss, and dealing with a crazy ex who just won't leave the picture. I loved that Christopher was so protective of Ali from the start and gave the "touch her you die" vibe without making it too dark. I loved the characters and their dynamics, and the emotional connections could be felt through the pages. Overall was so well written and I would highly recommend it.
Here for a short and sexy time, not a long time. This is a very quick and fast-paced read with romantic suspense elements integrated.
*this is a critical review
Ali works as a secretary for Christopher’s business and knows he is off-limits for obvious reasons. So when her paparazzo ex blackmails her into seducing Christopher, she is surprised to find out Christopher is all for it.
I like the premise of this book but I feel like it could have been so much more. The story is entertaining and fast-paced yet it does not read as a completed novel. The author’s writing style is very straight to the point and offers no time to sit and absorb the moment. The cute scenes for example are only about 4 sentences long and there is little to no stream of consciousness, just literally what is happening. This way of writing does not pull me in and make me experience the story. Also, the characters lack any depth.
Why a 3-star rating? I enjoyed the story and can see the potential.

Tempt My Heart is the second book in Living in Cincy Series, and can be read as a standalone. it’s releasing on June 30th 2023, so go get your kindles because it’s nearly go-time 😉
thank you so so much to Literally Yours PR for the arc of this book. this was my very first read by this author, and honestly it did not disappoint.
i LOVED this book!!! i truly did. it was a very fast-paced and easy read. i really enjoyed every second of it.
this book also had some of my favorite tropes : workplace romance, fake dating, “touch her and you’ll die” vibes. and THE SPICY SCENES WERE G R E A T. 🔥🔥
i loved both main characters, Ali and Chris. they were seriously a new favorite couple of mine. and Chris… ughhh i want that man for myself!!! can Ali fight ? 😂
after reading this in literally one sitting (yas i’m a slow reader, but this book kept me hooked from the beginning and i finished it in only 5 hours), i’m fairly convinced that i would read In Too Deep, the first book of this series because i did love seeing Rose and David together 🥹🥹
First off, I didn't realize this book was part of a series, so therefore I have not read it's prequel. However, this can be easily read and enjoyed as a standalone.
Now with that said... Onto the review and I gotta say I am here for (most of) the tropes!
✔️ Fake Dating ✔️ Workplace romance (boss/assistant) ✔️ Touch her and die
Yes. Yes and more yes. I absolutely loved Chris, Ali and their story. I just wish we had more!
Unfortunately the beginning of the book dragged for me with the ex blackmail drama (sorry not sorry but Jared was an awful character). I would have liked to see alittle less repetition on that and more Chris and Ali backstory. It was noted that they (C+A) were coworkers and friends first and I would have liked to see more of that dynamic. Don't get me wrong I still LOVED them and that dress scene 🥵 iykyk. BUT I wasn't completely vibing with the insta love (not my favourite trope).
Overall this was a quick and enjoyable read.
Thank you NetGalley for providing me access to this book for my honest review.
This was my first Jade Church book, and although it wasn't my favorite I will definitely give her books another try. My main complaint is that this book was only written from Ali's POV. Ali reminded me of a door mouse type of fmc. She's hesitant to speak up for herself, let's her ex walk all over her, and is afraid to go after what she really wants which just so happens to be her boss. I probably would have given this book five stars if we could have gotten some chapters from Christopher's POV, because that man was just delicious. He was every redeeming quality in this book. He was take charge, alpha in a good way, and knew he wanted Ali without a doubt. He was the best part of this book. Ali finally showed a little backbone by the end of the book, and the author gives us a HEA that's tied up nicely. All in all this was a quick, sweet romance and a good read. Recommend if you're in the mood for a light romance with a touch of spice.
I received this complimentary ARC, courtesy of Jade Church, in exchange for an honest review.
This was such a great sequel! Ali is Christopher's assistant and loves her job, but when her recent relationship with a nefarious paparazzo goes sour, she somehow has to gain an invitation to the most exclusive wedding of the season, none other than the wedding of Christopher's best friend. And considering the leverage the paparazzo has over her, the two enter into a fake dating scenario to get the paparazzo what he wants before he takes drastic measures that will ruin her life and career forever.
I really loved these two! Christopher was so sweet and protective, and I really felt for Ali and her situation. All in all, this was a splendid addition to the suspenseful Living in Cincy series! :)
Another great read from author Jade Church! I was in a bit of a reading slump and Tempt My Heart was just what I needed. Tempt My Heart is part of ‘Living in Cincy’ but can also be read as a standalone (but if you haven’t read In Too Deep yet, then do it now!).
Ali finds herself in a bit of a difficult and awkward situation. Her paparazzo ex is blackmailing her into getting invited to the wedding of the year and leaking photos. The awkward part is that the only way in is through her boss, the wonderful Christopher. As her boss, Christopher is off-limits, but when Ali comes clean and tells him about her predicament, Christopher doesn’t hesitate to help in any way he can.
I absolutely LOVED reading Ali and Christopher’s story. This book is fast-paced, action packed, spicy, steamy, and full of suspense. I highly recommend you pick this up as a fun summer romance read!
