Nox learned about her reOh baby, am I glad to be back in the demon world with all the weird, wonderful, and scandalous fork tongues and horn pulling.
Nox learned about her reality in a very unconventional way and unfortunately had to face some harsh realities on her own facing more than a few unpleasant situations. But this woman despite it all is a tough cookie who stans for what's right and does her best. She's sweet, feels with her whole heart and tries her best.
Daemon is just a sweet bowl of sensual goodness wrapped in a sinful package of cheeky flirtatious quips and saucy smirks. Does he endeavour to help the woman in distress? Absolutely.. even if it means a little torture. He is just delightful. Strong, protective, and sweet with all the right words and even better actions.
I love them. She's shy and sweet, and he's forward and flirty. The combination just hits right in all the best ways that had me kicking, giggling, and blushing all at once.
I love this world and these characters and I was so excited to get a peak at old faces, new faces and the wonder of endless possibilities!. I mean we have demons so why not gods too right?...
Jessie, as always, just hit it right. The characters are fantastic and had me hooked. The story is fast paced and built perfectly, giving me everything I needed. Oh, and the ending?!.... Nene?! Stop it right now.. so sweet....more
Suzanne is a comfort author to me. Someone who's books I've bought and read since 2013. Even if I don't know what I'm getting, I can always guarantee Suzanne is a comfort author to me. Someone who's books I've bought and read since 2013. Even if I don't know what I'm getting, I can always guarantee that I will love it. She's honed her style and has her preferences when it comes to building her worlds and creating, fleshing out and developing her characters. I love that. I'm used to it and so it was obviously no surprise that the third book in this series has quenched my thirst in all the right ways.
Cain and Wynter's relationship is no secret so it will come as no surprise or spoiler to say that this book only solidifies what is an already great partnership. He pushes.. she pushes back harder. He tries to control and protect.. She laughs and continues about her business. They are hilarious because in the many ways they are similar... there are even more that make them so very different. It just works though. She balances him in a way almost like his emotional conscience. He is a constant support that doesn't allow for her to be on her own in anyway. They work. That doesn't mean it's easy though... both characters have walls a mile high and quite frankly are emotionally challenged making it difficult to be vulnerable. They had to communicate, to trust and to allow themselves to be weak in moments they would rather not be. It was special watching their growth and especially when understanding what it took to get to that point.
Wynter is just a kick ass heroine. She's strong but not obnoxiously so. She cares more than she'd like. She's loyal to a fault but she's also as blunt as they come. Her circle is small but its mighty and she's do anything to keep those she cares for safe. I loved the dynamic between her and her coven. I lost count of the times I laughed at their shenanigans or her telling them off and getting them from killing themselves, each other or by someone else. A dysfunctional bunch they may be but they were family who'd do anything for one another.
Cain, my man of many secrets and very little emotion. This guy coming to terms with his feelings is something else. I enjoyed his journey of going through all the emotions and relearning after many years of not feeling.. what those emotions were. He's over the top protective and maybe not sweet but he was exactly what Wynter needed. He showed love in ways that mattered and was willing to put himself in the line of fire for her without question. Also... The sheer arrogance of him? delicious I cant lie.
Now as far as the story.. I'm not going to spoil it so I'll keep it short and sweet... Suzanne always has surprises packed away and boy did she let a few bombs drop here. I loved the many revelations and the way is all unfolded. I felt like it paced really well and the characters as always were most definitely the gift that kept giving. The epilogue was another cheeky surprise I NEED more of. So yes.. we find out everything and honestly I was very happy with how it all panned out. Suzanne I feel is a very character driven author which suits me to a tea because her characters really are the kind I love the most. This world never has a dull moment in it and truly I laughed till my belly hurt. Now I really am praying there is a fourth because to not would frankly be a fucking sin....more
Hate to Love/ Enemies to Lovers. Forced Proximity Marriage of Convenience MAFIA.
It's been done for yeFavourite book by Jessica ever. PERIOD. I CANNOT.
Hate to Love/ Enemies to Lovers. Forced Proximity Marriage of Convenience MAFIA.
It's been done for years. The marriage of convenience, when two people from different families are forced to marry to keep war at bay and bring a union together. A treaty of sorts. With rules of course.
Isabella did not spend her day thinking her whole world was about to change when she was so rudely snapped up and taken from everything she knows, and thrown into shark territory with no chance of surviving unscathed.
Primo is a man who bleeds for the family, works for the family and keeps the family running no matter what it takes to achieve all that. He understands he has to be the bag guy but that doesn't mean he isn't traditional when it comes to his values or his wife.
Lords above these two had my gut burning and my heart feeling like it was about to pump itself out of my fucking chest. The tension was so fucking tangible I could feel myself getting angsty with anticipation.
Isabella is a sweet woman who understood the life she was born into. She had the fire and the backbone but she also had dreams of her perfect wedding and a life with the one she'd love for a life time. Obviously that guy was never meant to be Primo. Isabella showed many admirable traits through her own person journey but I think the best one was her unwavering loyalty to her family and the knowing that the sacrifices she made was to save the ones she loved. That there is true strength. The kind you can't fake. However miss Isabella is a Mafia woman and she was not about to take her captivity laying down. She showed Primo that he really didn't know her and that she would fight him every damn step of the way in ways that he couldn't stop or have any control over. Let's just say the little lamb turned into a damn lion when she wanted to.
Primo is a prime hottie asshat that I'm living and dying for. That's my toxic trait.. wanting the asshole bahahaha. No seriously, what he did is unforgivable but also genius. He knew the only way to make the families see him was to give them something that would prevent war... even if he had to take something to do that. Let just say he didn't step off on the right foot but his intentions are understood and contrary to popular belief he is a monster but he's not that kind of monster. So he stole his soon to be wife and with that he stole her dreams but he wasn't going to take what was not freely offered to him. When I tell you is man is positively lethal... the sex appeal to him is unrivalled. He isn't sweet or tender, not even a little but he is present and true to himself with a side just for Isabella that made him appear more vulnerable and easier to understand.
They had the love to hate feelings down to perfection. Her throwing sass and him soaking in the attitude was foreplay. They pushed and pulled at eachother. They broke boundaries and somewhere along the line it started to mean more. She pushed at his hard and found something fucking precious and he pulled at her resentment and found unwanted need. They bounced around eachother, they fought, they teased and lord did they build eachother up to the point you don't think they can live up to the dirty expectations you have of them. Like the tension is just that fucking high. But they did. Boy did they... it was like they just combusted because they reached the point of no return and it was at the worst time ever but still it was fucking hot and I was swoooning like a crazy bitch.
Honesty they sucked the life out of me in the best ways. Their journey is turbulent to say the least filled with so much intensity, it's almost to much. I adored the back and forth cat and mouse game. I loved watching them both loose and win simultaneously. It was a marathon not a race for sure but it was worth every single minute of the crazy.
The side characters!!!!!. Just saying but if I don't get Brio I'm going to start a war. I need my animal giving psychopath like yesterday. Then we have Vissi and Mira.... I'm curious and wanting and praying they will be a them because the chemistry they have is insane. Then we have all the other characters who add so much personality to this crazy story. I love this world, these characters and their crazy lives. There is never a dull moment and it quickly became my favourite place to be.
Oh and the story... let's just say it leads to where I never expected and shook the ever loving shit out of me. GURLLLLL. I did not see it fucking coming. Flabbergasted.
Honestly... this series is epic and this is my favourite to date.

Frenamies to lovers is my favourite. This one is on the softer side of that but Traveler and August just have this ability to wind one another up stirring the pot whilst letting that unresolved tension simmering until its undeniable and they couldn't fight it. It's everything. Especially when you combine it with the suspense of what's happening to and around them. All the feels.
Traveler is saving the world one plastic bit at a time. Our sweet souled saviour isn't without her own cranky attitude. She's quick to bite and she gets defensive but she's got the best intentions and she feels more than most.
August is just a delightful package wrapped in a delicious suit. He of course has a saviour complex a mile wide and he cannot resist the crazy world saving lady despite the fact she ruffles his feathers. Ah this man. So sweet. So good even when he's bad. I couldn't get enough of him.
I loved them. I loved the build up to their journey. The crazy chemistry, hilarious bickering and banter and the moments were the walls break down and they allow themselves to be vulnerable. It was the best!.
These mafia men are just built differently. I love the family and how they come together despite the odd rouges going out alone. Or atleast trying too. I adore the giant family gatherings, bickering, banter and dysfunction. I live for the sneak peaks of secondary characters we may have in the future as well as those we already know and love so much.
This in typical Jessica fashion brought action, suspense, romance, love and a HEA to make your soul happy. I cannot wait to see where she takes us in out next Mafia romance, they are some of my favs!.

I was positively drooling for Brio's story. I wanted a first class ticket into the inner workings Be still my heart....
My favourite Psychohas arrived
I was positively drooling for Brio's story. I wanted a first class ticket into the inner workings of this puppy giving, women saving, happy torturers mind. Oh it didn't disappoint. It surpassed any and all expectations. That man is just positively delicious in all his crazy glory.
Brio is such a unique character. He's twisted and lacks moral compass and yet he is kind and he is thoughtful. He's a contradiction if ever I've read one. There is so many layers that make this man. So much depth you could dig for a lifetime and yet still not have it all.
Ezmeray was a unexpected much welcomed surprise. She is fragile but so strong. She despite life giving her hardship continued to survive and later thrive. She was the sweet light and gentle touch in Brio dark deprived world.
Brio and Ezzy gave me the home comforts feel. They had undeniable chemistry that pulsed through the pages but under that tension was this unspoken connection. One made instantly because of their hardship and pain. The kind only they could understand. That they could relate to eachother with. But do not mistake what I am saying, neither character was a victim. They not only survived, they thrived. Together.
Ah. I swear I have to stop my rambling ass before I spill things.
Just like any Jessie book, she has given us great characters, an unpredictable story and a journey that will consume you. I felt everything. I laughed, ranted, raved and swooned. It has so much dark humour, I died... laughing. I'm twisted I know.
But there is a trigger warning for anyone who can't read abuse. This book does have that so if you're sensitive to it, maybe ask someone before diving in.
I just know everyone will love Brio and Ezzy. Jessie you never fail us my darling, I am in awe of your crazy talents.

Jessica gives me a safe mafia, which is hard to come by and even harder to quench the thirst and thrills of. Especially with these over baring domineeJessica gives me a safe mafia, which is hard to come by and even harder to quench the thirst and thrills of. Especially with these over baring domineering men, without taking away from the women or making them seem less than. Jessica does is to perfection. Every time.
Millie, aka Mills, is not having the time of her life despite being young and having nothing tethering her. She unfortunately fell into a bad situation because of her father and ultimately paid the biggest prize and had to bear the burden. Mills is sweet. The kind that feels too much and hurts too hard. The kind that morns stray pups and doesn't judge a man despite knowing he just buried a body I'm the equivalent of you back yard.
Silvano is a hard man. Hard to love, hard to converse with, and hard to relate to. That is until her met Mills. The one woman who wasn't offended by his gruff tone, his ocd ways, or his short fuse. He had a chip on his shoulder and no room from shenanigans, and yet with Millie, she drew him like a moth to a flame. She softened him a little, and he gave her his patience, his time... sweet caring that did seem was in his relm in previous stories.
These two are the complete opposite. She's messy and chaotic where he is neat and strategic. She feels for everything. He only feels for those he's held close, and that number is teeny. Yet they worked. They balanced one another. Her sweet to his grumpy. She brushed off the gruff, and he soaked up her sunshine. It was freaking sweet, and I loved that silvano finally got the peace he deserved, and it was all his.
Their journey, of course, was not smooth sailing, but it was filled with emotion. I loved how they progressed and the realisations that neither of them where going to let the other go. It gave me all the warm feels.
As always with Jessie, she gives us great side characters, and whilst we didn't get a massive amount of other action from them in here, we had just enough to have me curious about some other pretty faces.
Oh, and the epilogues. Jessica gave me all my hopes and wishes with her polished epilogues. I don't have time to wonder how they're doing because she gives us that, and it was everything.

I mean I NEED more!!.
Holy sweetness Jessica just always gets it so damn right in all the best ways. There Better Be Pie is legit my favourite holiday short story if ever there was one. The sweetness of it all.
I love me a good holiday story. The sweet traditions, family get togethers and perfectly described food always gets me in the festive mood.
There Better Be Pie is a frenemies romance with a twist. Sweet sassy privileged rich girl meets hot opinionated working class guy and let's just say fireworks would be an understatement for the chemistry between these two. Jett and Trip always seem to rub eachother the wrong way and over the years that difference of opinion and judgemental attitude towards eachother only seemed to grow stronger. They say there's a fine line between love and hate right?. Well they didn't get the love memo. I suppose all that bickering made for a fine build up though because the main event was positively explosive.
Both characters are extremely likeable from the getgo but as the story progresses and we get to dig deep and pull back the layers I feel like they're easy to relate to aswell. Both characters have their insecurities and fears which unfortunately go against them in beginning. however it also make them stronger by the end. They are sweet and funny and even with all that bickering are so meant for eachother it was easy to believe in them as a couple despite it only being a short story.
I love that Jessica took her time building up the story with the characters backgrounds giving us a good insight as to why they got to that place of mutual frustration with eachother before moving on to the build up of tension and then finally the explosive conclusion. It's a very easy to love sweet funny short romance with great characters and a sweet story line that not only gives us the romance but also that family vibe I love hard in a good book. For a small book it sure is pretty mighty!!. I was excited, frustrated, humoured and most definitely feeling the love whist reading their story and if anything wanting more. I always want more from this author and not because it wasn't enough. But because she writes so damn good I could never get enough.
Side note!!! I love me some meddling parents!. That was cute as shit.
Also miss queen of epilogues!!! As always that epilogue left me with all those happy flutters because it was so bloody sweet!!.
AND!!! had me wishing the UK celebrated thanksgiving because it sound positively delicious.
Once again I'm left amazed by your crazy talents and happy as shit I get the opportunity to read anything you write. I know this book will be loved because there is nothing not to love.

DEI have to take a moment to pray to the lords above because GOD KNOWS I DONT HAVE THE PATIENCE TO WAIT THIS GODDAMN CLIFFHANGER OUT!

DESPAIR GODDAMIT.
I FUCKING HATE CLIFF HANGERS.
BUT ALSO.. THIS BOOK. FAB-U-LOUS.
Astrid is a really likable heroine with great progression through her journey. She starts off a lowly commoner with only one person in the world by her side. Her best friend August. She has powers she shouldn't and more secrets than even August knows. Yet she landed up facing the one man she did not want. Her mate. I loved her spunk and inability to be anything but herself even surrounded by royals completely overwhelmed by power and prestige. I loved that her mouth ran away from her. The stubborn attitude was relatable, she was cornered and acted accordingly. Did she fuck up? yup. But she never claimed perfection. If anything she relished in the fact she was flawed. In her opinion she was surrounded by royals who where surrounded by everything they could ever want and yet they were still jaded and shitty. I loved that for her.
Rave is quite perfect really. WELL. I KNOW HE FUCKING AIN'T BUT WE AINT GETTING INTO THAT MOMENT OF UTTER MADNESS RIGHT THERE.
As I was saying before the end made my brain explode.. Rave is perfect. He seen her, took her and protected everything that was Astrid.. even from herself. This man showed sweet, he gave tender and understanding even when it hurt him. He was patient, he was dirty and man did he know his ways in seduction. Honestly I want to bask in all that perfection before I think about flaying all their nut sacks and choking them with it.
Their journey whilst having a insta connection was not insta love by any means. It is also important to note that this is book one of two?... So this is literally the foundation. With that being said I loved the path of them getting to now one another. Her light to his dark. Her snark to his swoony. I enjoyed everything part of their clashing, tension and jealous shenanigans.
This world as a whole is a pretty exciting place to be not only because of the main characters. But also because there are so many great standout side characters that I absolutely want more of already and Astrid and Raves journey isn't even done yet. I love the chemistry and dynamics of the side characters. There was Enemies, frenemies, friends and lovers. There is so much laughter, dysfunction and excitement of the unknown. There was also suspense, a little action, So dirty nasty goodness, lots of sweet and a whopping giant WHAT THE EVER LOVING FUCK JUST HAPPENED?!.
Safe to say I loved it.. Also safe to say I'm fucking traumatised. For those who I do not wish to fall victim to the same atrocities I experienced.. THIS HAS A HUGE FUCKING CLIFFY AT THE END MY FRIENDS. READ AT YOUR OWN PERIL.

These perfectly imperfect people who feel more than most, have been through more than anyone should and don't always get it right. This time though, it's all for them and their HEA.
Van is a man that is haunted by the past. A man that hates because it's easier than to hurt. A man that from the outside is a monster but beyond that is a vulnerable man whom wants answers and to ease the ache of the guilt he's drowning in. My prickly little burnt sunflower. He amused me more than I had a right to be amused by but beyond that his actions didn't always match his cutting words. He was kind in his own way. Loved more than he wanted to and in the end his redemption was his rebirth. A freedom of knowing and moving forward and damn it was a beautiful thing to read.
Reese my spicy little wildflower. She exceeded my expectations. She, despite her fears could survive amongst monsters and not only survive but thrive. That wasn't because she was a bad guy like she thought. It was because she was simply the sunshine our prickly sunflower needed to bloom. She made him more than his past, Showed him he was worth the love and that she could indeed love him even at his worst whilst showing him all the best parts of himself. She was fiercely loyal, feisty and independent. She was sweet and loved harder than she fought and, boy, did she fight hard. She was his perfect match in every way and baby if they were going to burn, they were dancing in those fames together.
These two consumed me with their poison and lit a fire with their passion. It was positively amusing watching them fight the lust knowing that in the end they'd burn together. They bickered and fought and, teased and, taunted and all it served to do was push them closer and closer. I was here for it all.
I was so surprised by the way their story unfolded and the developments along the way but a pleasant surprise it was on times. Kristy did a phenomenal job of conveying the importance of their journeys and evoking the emotion needed for the depths of them. It was a rollercoaster for sure and one that had my little black heart breaking in happy tears at the end.
I am also so bloody curious about the brothers. I means first those names. Second what is their story. How did they end up at Eden?... So many questions and I cannot wait to find out along the way for sure.
I'll come back when my thoughts are a little more together and add some more of my rambles. For this was everything....more

A completion of short stories complied into one for all the Lani lovers to love the heck out of and finally get to peak at our much loved OG characters as well as some new faces.
It will never bore me to visit my favourites and get a peak into past scenes and present and this book came at the perfect time really.
Not going to lie there were moments I cursed Lani in fear of what she was doing but I also know she finds away to right it and that she did. I laughed, I gasped, I cursed like crazy and whilst I didn't cry.. I did feel all kinds of ways whilst reading these little snippets.
Banner has my heart and I am so glad that their story got tied up in a little bow with a beautiful baby with those gorgeous eyes. Trance had me fearing for life. Viddy is just everything. They will always sit on my top 3 favs of all time for Lani.
we got a peak at Titus and Blue and just how they came to be. In very Lani fashion it was chaotic and great all in one.
We get to pop into the circus and see Kristoff and Marlow and how they became them. It hit the spot just right.
Elliot and Blaine... Sighs of perfection I swear to christ. I have been a reader of Lani's since the beginning, they are my OG's and the momma and poppa of our Freebirds.
Silas my man.
Kettle my sweet man.
Snickers are life period.
Dixie is never growing old and pissing his pants in my mind. The haemorrhoid cream is a different battle all together.
I also had a mask that said fuck off on it.
Crying tears of happiness at the wedding dress greetings still being a thang.
I too once was in a birthing poo whilst my very best friend brought her son into the world. I too said the same thing Linc.
Sorry Linc. Conleigh deliverd a toddler.
Radar ... that had me crying.
Ok poor Mina.
Covid hair cuts are life.
Finley I've got my eye on you sir.
Baby making weather is life.
These little snippets are perfect representations of life in the middle of a world wide pandemic. The resentment and the fear. The hope and the joy. The frustrations. The loss. Covid was gutting for me like everyone. I lost a lot more than I though I would. I work in health care and saw it all. Lani as usual did a great job of representing everything that was those two years.
I loved these little snippets. This is less of a review and more of a running internal monologue of my thoughts whilst reading it. Now I feel like I have to go have a date with some old and much loved faces.

But it's also not meant to be and I'm just fine with that because she gives us so much, I honestly don't miss or look for it like I normally would.
Duke and Posey give of major oldies been married for a lifetime kind of energy. I wouldn't even say it's enemies to lovers, it feels more like an old married couple who are sick of each other's antics but also love to hate them and love them all over again. It just has that feel.
Duke is cute in a little arrogant, a little sweet and a whole lot of doesn't think kind of way.
Posey is a yes from me. By day the sweet teacher, by evening a little terror who'll go toe to toe with a 6ft giant cake thief.
On paper these pair are a no. I'm talking so completely opposite and yet they balanced one another perfectly. His silly and her serious made for some epic bickering, a tonne of tension and some real sweet moments of vulnerability. They had great chemistry and it just worked even when it shouldn't. Now there were a few moments of WTF where I felt like the balls of my eyes were deceiving me. But in true Sara fashion she wraps it all up perfectly in a way that leaves you crying in laughter and oh so satisfied.
It's another win for me. If you're just looking for something easy that will make you laugh hard, swoon a little and maybe curse a time of 6.. this is for you.
It's finally the surgeons time to shine.. and lord does he do just that.

Salvatore is one of the older working members of the family and fresh out of jail a short time ago it's safe to say a permanent woman and family were absolutely not on his agenda. Infact he'd set his sights on the highroad living the bachelors life, permanently.
So was it an inconvenience when a perfect stranger in a hideous waitress outfit gets caught in a crossfire and shot, absolutely. However, he also wasn't about to leave her bleeding in the street either. So of course, the next best option was to cuff her to his table and fix what was broken.
Salvatore is freaking fabulous in all his brooding moody unsociable and unwilling to bend glory. I adore his blunt mouth, unapologetic truths and need to protect, even when his mind tells him it's probably not the best thing. The man just can't help but get up in things he should definitely not. I really wasn't ready for him, but I welcomed it, nonetheless.
Whiteny was minding her own just trying to get through life with what felt like the weight of the world on her shoulders, when she was inconveniently shot, twice. When you think it doesn't get much worse, she wakes cuffed to a medical table with the mafia around her and no clue what the hell just happened.
Whitney is everything. Everything Sal didn't know he needed or thought he wanted. She was soft and sweet and honestly a personality that is hard not to love. She worked harder than most, sacrificed her own dreams and basically existed to work, kind of eat and survive off very little sleep to push her baby sister through collage. All the while remaining humble and kind. She had that quiet strength that you don't see straight off but hits you unexpectedly. The kind that holds so much in and yet still manages to get up and go on with their day. I truly admired her.
Sal and Whitney together are peanut butter and Jam. The salty and the sweet that mix into this perfect balance of just right. At first, I wondered how this would work, how they would gel. Then I caught her sass and his soft spot for her, and I was a believer. Then you factor in the crazy slow burn tension that pulsed around them like a live wire fueling that already palpable chemisty... it was EVERYTHING. Neither one was looking or wanting a sweet someone but like they say, it happens when you least expect it and whilst perhaps extreme it still applies.
As per with Jessica's stories, not only do we get great main characters with depth, but we also get fantastic side characters that leave us forever wanting more. Poor Anthony was not living his best life in this book, but I so badly want to know what woman changes his luck. Also, Silvano..... excuse me sir... YES PLEASE.
So, to wrap this up. I freaking loved this one. Another great addition to the mafia brood and a crazy journey to keep you entertained. I laughed hard, swooned like crazy, ranted and raved like a looney and whilst I didn't cry, my heart did break for Whitney in parts. Also, that ending!!. I do so love me a good epilogue and Jessica does them epically.
SIDENOTE.... Brio!. There will NEVER be a day that I don't love that man and his crazy gifts. Now I just wish I had someone to come give me plants and animals. ...more

Titan is the most frustrating hero I've read in It's been a hot minute since I've read a Chantal Fernando read and Saskia and Titan didn't disappoint.
Titan is the most frustrating hero I've read in a hot minute. He's the guy who changed his path from the bullied quiet guy to the hot badass MMA fighter that no one messed with. He was strong and dependable and committed. But lord was he also a man-child on times. Now that's not to say he didn't have a right to feel some kind of way about Sas. He absolutely did. However... LORD!!. He did not help himself either. So... whilst I loved him on times.. there was also moments I wanted to throttle him for his own stupidity and childishness.
Saskia is one of those character you try real hard not to like on principle. Without knowing the true extent of her past, what you learn in the beginning absolutely gives you a bad taste for her. However, I am glad to say it quickly changed for me. Was she an asshole is school?... YES. And it is inexcusable. However has she grown as a person and deserving of a second chance? ... yes. She was a great heroine who showed growth, maturity and strength. Even if on times I wanted to shake her for being too forgiving too quickly.
These two are a hot mess of sexual tension, past trauma and attitude. They had me wanting to bang their heads together as much as I wanted to see them happy together. It was a journey to say the least. But I love the idea of their background and where they came from. I really enjoyed the whole frenamies/ almost forbidden nature to their relationship. it made for an exciting, where will this go kind of read. Ohhh.. and the chemistry was delicious..
I do wish there was a little more building towards the end of their story. Nothing I'll go into detail with as I don't want to spoil it. But it jumped around a little at the end with an added to time jump that I wish had a little more to it than it did.
As a whole I thoroughly enjoyed their journey like I always do with this author. I'm also very interested to see where she takes this series and the side characters we've already met. I wonder who will get one... Will it be Shep? Destiney?... or them together.. or even someone new?.
I'm very curious and excited to see. this for sure is a great start to what feel like could be a great series. Plus im a sucker for MMA and it's been a hot damn minute sine I've read one.
Ok this is without a doubt the most highly anticipated book of the series and the closing chapter to one hell of a series.
Lani did not suffer fools wOk this is without a doubt the most highly anticipated book of the series and the closing chapter to one hell of a series.
Lani did not suffer fools with the Battle Crows MC. She straight up plunged us into murky waters with many ups and downs. So much heartbreak. Countless crazy moments and gasp worthy revelations. A slew of imperfectly perfect characters and a whole lot of steaming lovings. It's been a fucking journey right?!.
And Bram and Dory are the conclusion to the story.
What a way to end it.
Now I'm not going to say I cried as hard at this one as I did in Haggard and Sophia's. I didn't. But this one story left a hole in my heart a mile wide.
This book is highly anticipated and with good reason because Lani has been TEASING with these characters for a hot minute and we knew the situation between Bram and Dory was a HOTMESS. However we didn't know why.
Now before people get their pinch forks out in honour of sweet Dory to slay the heartless Bram... hold your fucking horses.
Was Bram a top class bellwhister... absofuckinglutly. Did he deserve a junk punch ... lord have mercy, he did. A few times over. But did he also have his own shit?. Yup. And was Dory a grown woman who should of told them all the fuck off a long ass time ago .... absolutely.
See this won't make sense until you read this because my crazy thoughts are trying to stay spoiler free. But what I will say is these characters are flawed. They are human. They made mistakes. Both of them. And whilst Bram and the merry band of assholes most definitely needed to grovel their whole lives. Bram earned his redemption and eventually so did the brothers.
Bram and Dory's story is a hard one. It's a real gut punch to find out just how heartbreaking Dory's story is and how much injustice the poor woman faced her entire life. But when they moved forward Bram legit worshiped the ground she walked on in anyway he possibly could. They had the sweetest obsession with one another build through unbreakable bonds forged in the most disturbing yet cathartic time of their lives. They for better or worse were made for one another because only they could relate to each other.
Bram is a little asshole but I loved him and his devotion to making it up to Dory. The sweet things he would do and the fact she had his undivided attention. Whilst he couldn't take the past away he would spend his whole life making sure Dory knew just how loved she was and I truly believed that. He won me over time and time again.
Dory is one of those quiet strengths. She was solid, dependable and sweet but she suffered no fools in the end and found her voice and the courage and I was here for it. I was here for her. Her ability to forgive spoke volumes to her character and in all honesty she is just that kind of person you can't not love.
The boys... well they are dickheads but I still love them.
I love Lani's ability to write so many characters and make you love them even in the times you don't like them. It's been a crazy journey this series and Never Trust The Living was the cherry on top of a deliciously rich cake.
I ranted and raved and at one point feared for my phone. I tried to hate, I loved hard and a laughed and I swooned because despite the sad and the trauma there is still a whole lot of wholesome goodness. Oh and in typical Lani fashion... there's a whole slew of characters.. most old and some new and interesting.
I love Dory and Bram and their HEA. They deserved it.
Now my impatient ass is eagerly awaiting the next book already and it already feels a million miles away!!....more

Aside from the fact it was 2am and I was well pastI gave myself a pep talk last night about all the reason why I couldn't write my review last night. Aside from the fact it was 2am and I was well past my bed time. Obviously I have no self restraint. I usually write my reviews directly after reading so all my thoughts and feelings are fresh but that also means I'm hella chatty which in this case is no go because my chatty ass will unintentionally spoil things that need to not be spoiled.
So despite patience not being my strongest suit I waited a minute to digest all the crazy.
Now here I am. Still trying to process all that happened and write an articulate review without spoilers. dAMNIT.
Ok Jeremiah and Gracelynn brought me so much to unpack. Let's keep it as short as my blabbering self can.
Jeremiah is everything I didn't know what to expect. He's the quiet brooding pretty standoffish kind. To most, he's an asshole but to Gracie he is so much more. I love that he wasn't your typical alpha man. Yes he worked hard graft and yes he most definitely filled his trousers but this man, the baker extraordinar who loved to read in peace and wanted a quiet life without crazy has so much depth I could of duh for days. He fascinated me.
Gracelynn felt like home to me. Her personality tickles me because I get it. The need for silence and the sensory issues with too much noise and people. I loved that she didn't care to fit into what others deem as socially acceptable. I loved the strength she showed with every minute she fought the things that haunted her. She proved resilient and sweet despite everything. I freaking loved her.
These two together are a match made in awkward heaven. Neither character is particularly sociable or chatty and the comfort they found amongst one another felt so natural it was like they had always been. It was easy to imagine them together, nothing felt forced. I loved how they met and that they had plenty to say to one another despite not liking to talk to others. The chemistry between them is so intense and the connection that blossoms really is the sweetest thing because they love the same things. It worked perfectly and I felt all the emotion from these two very guarded characters. It was overwhelming in the best ways.
Their journey is turbulent to say the least. Sweet romancing, frustrating stubbornness, saucy shenanigans and heartbreaking happenings. There was never a dull moment along the way. With plenty of revelations and some nail biting teasers for what's to come in the highly anticipated story of Bram and Dorcas it's safe to say Jeremiah and Gracie's story packs a punch. Oh did I mention side characters? As always Lani brings a whole slew of characters that bring so much personality to the pages and give us a peak in to how they're doing as well as showing us some new and intriguing faces. This book is a whole moment and it's been a minute since Lani has given us one like this.... get your tissues ready my friends.
As always the epilogue slays and managed to have me laughing and crying all in one. I'm never disappointed and this one is definitely a fav of the series thus fav.
I'm done for now. Also laughing at my version of short and sweet. I tried. ...more

Rattle Some Cages is not for the faint of heart. Just like the previous two books in this new series, Price and Sabrina's book brings hard hitting situations that truly make you feel every emotion.
Sabrina just really had a hard time in this book. Between her lunatic ex, her friends heartbreaking demise and the judgement of those who took me by surprise.. it's safe to say she had an uphill battle but was so deserving of happiness. She was loyal to a fault, self-sacrificing and to sweet for her own damn good.
Price just like his brothers has his alpha bossy surly grump attitude down to a T. He's loyal to a fault, protective and fierce over those he loves. He was tender with Sabrina helping her through her darkest hour giving her the strength to push through even when she thought she couldn't. I couldn't fault his love to her. I loved him.
Their journey wasn't easy and for once it was not them being the obstacle in their way to happy. I must admit when reading and after, something someone told me once rang clear in my mind...
You won't always like the ones you love and that's ok.
I didn't like Cannel in this book. I love her. Don't mistake what I'm saying. But in this book, I did not like what she did or how she went about it.
I still love her though.
It only took a small amount of time to realise they could not stay away. Could not resist the connection that continued to draw them together. They crazy hot chemistry and sweet connection that grew into something so special by the end!. I laughed, I cried, I ranted and raved like a crazy person and in the end loved this rollercoaster.
I am so interested to see where Tide and Coralines story takes us next. This series is a whole lot dark and grittier but it still has all the love and laughter too.
Once again Lani has not failed to nail it and hook me in to this crazy ride!!. Now the wait for the next....more

SHOOKITH
ABSOLUTELY FLABBERGASTED,I CANNOT
What even is this woman doing with my damn emotions.
Book two came in packing an almighty punch and slaughtered me.
Emeline was everything I thought she'd be. Bloody thirsty, fierce and loyal to a fault, this woman was nobody's fool and despite the horror show that was her life.. she took the best parts of it all and THRIVED. Now that's not to say it was easy. This woman went through hell, literally. She fought monsters, pushed through the macho bullshit that was her life and she did it whilst still maintaining her integrity. She was sweet and kind and despite everything she has seen and done, she still saw good in those who didn't always deserve it. I fucking loved her. QUEEN.
Skarth did not disappoint with his nasty mouth, sinful hands and fierce love for his pretty prinny. He frustrated and excited me. His love for Emeline was not pure and simple it was dark and suffocating and it was addictive. He pushed boundaries, he thrived in chaos and he proved time and time again despite everything that nothing will ever exceed his love for her. Not even him. What a man.
Now there are many parts that make up this story. That will make your blood boil and your heart feel like it's about to burst through your damn rib cage. All of which I can't talk about because this book is one big ass spoiler. So what I will say it this...
I was on EDGE. The climactic build is like nothing else. The action is brutal to say the least but nonetheless entertaining to my little black soul. This story consumed me and went in so many directions I swear there's a whiplash claim to be had. But it made me FEEL in every way. I loved these characters so fucking hard. I devoured their story like a dehydrated prune on a wet day in Britain. It filled me to the absolute brim with overwhelming emotion and by the end I just cried in both relief and satisfaction. I didn't go how I thought... it was so much better.
All I'm going to say is ULF. that is fucking all my friend.
Monica you little monster.. I fucking love you. You my dear, are a fucking queen.
This story is a rollercoaster of hearbursting highs and gutpunching lows. The best and worst kinds. I don't know what I expected but this exceeded it by a continent.
Meghan Quinn once again graces us with her sharp witt, multidimensional relatable characters and a story that truly is the gift that kept giving. Put Meghan Quinn once again graces us with her sharp witt, multidimensional relatable characters and a story that truly is the gift that kept giving. Put Me in Detention gave me all the swoony feels, the heart pounding tensions, the belly deep laughter and a genuine emotional connection to the characters.
It's frenemies with a twist. It's Romcom with depth. It's also has the contemporary feel.
Coraline and Pike stole my heart giving me all the butterflies, swooning and sweet adoration.
Coraline is trying to heal from past hurt and sets out for the night of her life on her divorce-cation. Let's just say she had more than she bargained for coming home from the city of sin.
I loved her character so much. Not only is she so strong for over coming and trying to move on with her life after so much hurt. She genuinely was a sweet woman who didn't want to disappoint the one person who's opinion of her mattered, Arlo. I loved her fiesty nature and hilarious shenanigans. She amused me to no end and was also just really relatable in the best ways.
Pike is a man worth swooning over. In fact I'd say he's a man worthy of being at the top of any book boyfriend list. Despite certain actions saying otherwise, he was genuinely kind and thoughtful. He took the time to know Cora and he invested in making her feel good even when he suffered. He wasn't afraid to vulnerable or to experiment or to even be silly and have fun with her. Plus... he's a HOTTIE.
Their chemistry is undeniable for the beginning but as their journey progresses you start to see the connection between them blossom and it had me swooning and my ovaries fluttering. They just fit. Even when they were trying to hate eachother, or when they were at war with one another and when they teased eachother. It just built the tensions higher creating this climactic suspense my hussy ass could not take!!!!. I swear I devoured them whole and loved every single interaction because frankly they were made for eachother.
I laughed so hard so often my cheeks and belly hurt. I was swooning at the sweet, gasping at the saucy and shouting at the frustrating times. Everything about them made me feel all over and it's books like that to me that mean the most. Even at the end when my heart was in my mouth and I was cursing Meghan a storm waiting for the shoe to drop I was still so completely invested and needing more and loving them so fucking hard.
Keiko of course stole the show with her blunt abrasive advise, her oversharing shenanigans and her unexpected emotional outburst. The woman is my favourite ever and I won't be told otherwise. She is precious.
I loved getting see old and new faces. Meghan does a great job of working characters into the story that breathes life to the pages and leaves you wanting more. They all are relatable in some way, easy to love and are always missed when they aren't there.
This story is my favourite of the series yet. I can't even find the right words that will do this justice to tell you how much I loved Cora and Pike and what their relationship did for me. However what I will say is as far as a well rounded story with great character development and perfect world building goes.... this is fucking perfect. This will be a go to re read for me I just know it. It has sweet in abundance, just the right amount of sex with plenty of spice and a smidge of angst that is necessary to the characters and their growth together. I mean... what more could you want?!!!!
The is my first official new read of 2022 and what a way to start my reading year. ...more

It's safe to say it was a journey. But strangely very familiar to my own Dysfunctional family dynamic in many ways so it was relatable.
I loved Cooper and despite his flaws because of course he has them... I feel like he had the most shit even though his intentions were the best and being honest he was my favourite character.
Ford frustrated me and fascinated me with his need for control but also his very gentle sweet personality. It was jarring but somehow it worked.
Palmer is by far the most frustrating and at times extremely selfish character in the book. But she was a little broken and by the end I feel like I could understand her perspective better and even really like who she grew into.
Cooper & Nora just had me loving them from the start and I adore that Nora truly believed in Cooper and set him straight when it was needed.
Ford & Larkin they just made sense. Like two super sweet souls that felt right together.
Palmer & Beau worked because they had the whole opposites attract personalities. His soft soothed her sharp edges.
This whole book is a crazy ride that delves deep into what it's like to be a family. The good, the bad and the ugly.. every wound is exposed and every nerve is raw but in the end they love eachother because that's family. The unique perspectives of each character really added the depth needed to make this kind of story all the more relatable. Each character was different and had their own struggles that needed to be dealt with and I loved that their partners helped them along the way see a little light in the dark.
Their journey was frustrating and at times made me want to throw something. But it was also sweet, hilarious and relatably dysfunctional. I found myself loving each character for different reasons and rooting for their very own slice of contentment. I adore Mr and Mrs chance and their hilarious personalities.. honestly they stole the show countless times and had me laughing until my belly hurt. And the ending? It was the icing on the cake for me. The character development and growth is something so special because whilst it wasn't perfect each character took responsibility for their actions and made efforts to better their own futures and their relationships with eachother. It came full circle in the best way and gave me so much contentment.
Huh. I didn't know it was about to end the way it did. I mean I suspected something was off when I was 75% through and there was nothing in terms of cHuh. I didn't know it was about to end the way it did. I mean I suspected something was off when I was 75% through and there was nothing in terms of couple development. But it snuck up on me real quick.
So this is like the prologue or the foundation of Cooper and Nora's story. Basically how they came to have history which then leads into The Reunion which is Meghans next release and the rest of Cooper and Nora's story. So readers be aware... this ends of a cliffy.. kinda.
Aw I laughed so hard at this little story. Coopers parents are the freaking cutest trying to help him combat his love life by essentially dragging him out and being his wingman/wingwomen. Coopers mortification had me rolling in laughter and I appreciated his honest response because let's be real... no grown adult is going to be happy with it.
Coopers a little broody but we don't yet know the full him to judge. It's said he's very one mind driven and can at times appear unapproachable but the side we get in this part of their story at least is a more vulnerable, funny and a little saucy and I'm super curious about that and what else he has to offer.
Nora is a confident, straight up honest and just appears very likeable. I enjoyed her breakdown of Cooper and his pity party. I love that she challenged him and listened equally and I especially liked that she didn't tear him down for how his parents were out with him. It was like she was seeing a stranger even though they were familiar because the side she saw was different to the man she knew him to be.
These two had great chemistry from the start. I mean I know they knew one another but honestly it should have been awkward and I love that it wasn't. The easy conversion that seamlessly transitions into flirty banter and budding sexual tension just hit right on every level and only served to make me want more. They just have so much potential.
I love that nothing was rushed in this short intro to these characters. Even in the small time of reading them I already feel like I know them and I'm excited to see where the next book takes me on this journey. For now I'll leave this here's but i will say this is a must for going into the next book so you really get a feel for the characters. It's also just a feel good moment that hyped me up ready for what's next. I have a feeling Nora is going to give him hell and I almost feel sorry for the wrath he's about to face. ...more
