What I enjoyed: * Wanda and Wumble. They are adorable. * Other people are realizing there is something special about them.
What could have been better: * That is the weirdest school. You have to learn to shield before you can do a potion, so lesson one is shielding. But lesson 2 is potion making even though no one has proved they can shield properly yet. ...more

What could be better: * I'm surprised no one has figured out both Wumble and Wanda are super powered, including Wanda. * (view spoiler)[ I'm not quite sure why Wumble took out just 2 of the 3 drill heads of the big bad and left one for the rest of the party (hide spoiler)]...more

What I enjoyed: * The writing style was very enjoyable * Interesting characters from child Samuel to demon Nurd to the police trying to keep order to CERN scientists * Loved the dog, Bowsell
What could have been better: * Most of the demons were taken care of one way or another by the townspeople, but the end mentions deaths, so it seems some demons accomplished their mission and it is weird we didn't see any of it....more

Lex transformed from the perfect child to the worst and so her parents send her to live with her uncle for the summer, thinking working on a farm will be good for her. But her uncle is actually a Grim, and lives in a town that harvests the souls of the people who die on the East Coast. There is a lot of time explaining the silly, but even when Lex threatens to do something wrong, they won't say what the actual punishment is, but warn her to be ready to accept the consequences.
Her uncle is very annoying in not saying anything until the last moment, for no good reason. Even working 10 hour days (14 hours for adults) it doesn't seem like they could attend every death in their area. The juniors work without any real supervision. Then they start seeing odd deaths where the person's eyes go white and there doesn't seem to be a cause of death.
While the ending isn't really a cliff-hanger, it isn't complete either.
(view spoiler)[I can't believe they killed her twin sister. I wasn't at all surprised that Zara was the killer, she was off on her own most of the time. (hide spoiler)]
