Elsie Silver is killing it with this ‘Chestnut Springs’ series. I know I can be a picky reader at times (especially when it comes to my 5 star favorites) but every book in this series has been such a hit. It’s so rare to read a series where every single book is 5 stars, but here we are. Welcome to Chestnut Springs!
Beau Eaton is the one I’ve been waiting for. He used to be a lighthearted and fun Eaton, but his time in the military changed that. Now he’s got that tortured/damaged hero vibe we all love. Bailey Jensen was born into the wrong family. She’s sweet and shy, but her father and brothers are nothing but trouble and she can’t get ahead in Chestnut Springs with the Jensen name.
Beau and Bailey become friends and Beau has this idea. Maybe Bailey would get better opportunities and people would treat her with more respect if she was going to be an Eaton… hence the fake dating/fake engagement. We all know that fake dating turns into real feelings and I was more than here for that!

Sienna has had an unrequited crush on her boss, Jacob, for two years. But after no advances from him, she gives up hope and leaves her resignation letter on his desk before going home for the holidays. Unbeknownst to her, he’s been harboring feelings of his own but didn’t act on them to not break fraternization laws. So naturally, her cold letter does not sit well with him in the slightest, so he flies out to her to explain it all in person. And boy does he explain things. Jake lays it all out on the line for her, and it doesn’t take much for her to give in to him.
A WIFE FOR CHRISTMAS was a great, quick Christmas read. The “daddy” aspect gets to be a little over the top. Thankfully, I am a lover of all things “over the top”. I flew through their story and even devoured their bonus story, BABIES FOR CHRISTMAS. Absolutely couldn’t get enough of Jacob and Sienna....more

She loves the place and has been trying to make it all work, but many bad things have been happening that have caused the farm to be in financial trouble. The trees in the south field have all died, the fence has been damaged, pumpkins have been destroyed, decorations have been ruined, shipment orders have never arrived and now the farm is in the financial hole. Stella's best friend of ten years is a good fit. Luka Peters and Stella would never want anything to hurt their best friend-ness but they can make this fake thing work. Of course, the town thinks it's about time, they've known the pair were in love for the last ten years. And Luka's mom, grandmother, and aunts believe it's the real thing, too. But for now, Stella and Luka will fake it and deal with the fake breakup fallout later.

I was so addicted to this story that I would’ve finished it in one day had my sister not begged me to watch Netflix with her last night. I whole-heartedly loved this: the Hispanic representation, the back-and-forth witty banter, the spot-on hilarious family members, and those names! Ethan and Olive called each other every other name except their own (Octavia, Elmo, Oscar, Eragon) and I howled every single time. This was my first Christina Lauren book and I have to say I’m not disappointed.

The story was about women in STEM, academia, working in the field of men, anxiety, friendship, found family, and love. Olive and Adam were perfect but I also enjoyed secondary characters. Olive’s best friends Ahn and Malcolm were fantastic. I enjoyed reading how Olive met them and how their friendship grew stronger and became like a family she never had. They were so supportive and protective of Olive and I loved them for nudging Olive in the right direction, giving the right advice, and always making her feel she belonged. I enjoyed reading about Adam’s friends, especially Dr. Holden, who was with Adam in all phases of life and it was amazing to read about their friendship.

A hilarious, passionate, lovely, spicy, and all-around The Spanish Love Deception is a whole firecracker of a book, just like its protagonist itself. A hilarious, passionate, lovely, spicy, and all-around awesome read. A slow-burn delicacy: just the perfect amount of it without coming off as unreasonable. I picked it up to read while it was on hype on Bookstagram (a miracle for me), not quite knowing what really to expect since such popular reads tend to be a hit-or-miss with me, as I’ve seen. But of course, the story involving enemies-to-lovers, fake dating, and office romance – three tropes I’ve practically grown up reading an unholy amount of – was a major influencing factor. I will say that we didn’t get to see any ‘serious’ enmity between them for any amount of time but you won’t see me complainin’. Keeping that in mind let me tell you, I was so far from disappointed I can’t even think of anything else right now. The writing being chef’s kiss didn’t hurt, either.
