The subtitle is a bit misleading, as only about 25 pages actually detail her Modesty Experiment, but I didn’t mind because there was a lot of good information and examination. With the exception of the author’s excursion into dreadlocks (which she does attempt to amend), I found this book very informative and enjoyable.

This is my 3rd novel of hers and I don’t think she is capable of one-dimensional characters.
This novel, Love, is atmospheric and gripping as it shifts between timelines and characters, allowing the conclusion to take its time in arriving. The characters are all kinds of morally gray and complex, and there are (arguably) no heroes or villains.

It was nice to return to his body of work with this novella and the short story included at the end of the audiobook. This isn’t a classic by any means, but it made for a quick and enjoyable read with just the right amount of suspense.

I highly recommend this to anyone looking to discover new perspectives and expand their knowledge of feminism. A couple of the essays were a bit repetitive, but overall I took left each one with something valuable.

The formatting and figurative language employed here is complex and creative, encompassing multiple styles and even a Bingo board poem.
It is unfortunately difficult to find literature discussing the South Asian Partition, and I look forward to seeking out more so that I can be more educated.

I look forward to exploring the rest of Ivan Coyote’s works, because I absolutely loved this one. Few books can make me laugh and cry within pages of one another, but this one contained a multitude of emotions. I absolutely cannot recommend this enough.

I’m sure it holds value for others, but I can’t say the same for myself....more

There is a very diverse cast of characters, but their identities don’t contribute to their personalities. It’s like they live in a bubble where everyone is literally equal (unlike our own world). This is definitely a valid method of inclusivity, but something about the way it was employed didn’t work for me. Maybe it’s because the rest of their personalities were less than lovable.
These children are so hormonal and selfish. They basically feel obligated to make out with every person they encounter.
That being said, I found this to be a cute and generally nice read. It’s definitely on the same level as other YA books that I’ve read recently.

I think I should have read it in a different state of mind because I accidentally fell asleep two separate times while listening to the audiobook. The first time I rewound it, but on the second occasion I couldn’t summon the energy. Like I said, I think the problem was more with me than the book itself because so many of the other reviews are entirely positive.

I found it very easy to stay up late into the night reading this.
I also want to add that I agree with another reviewer, who mentioned how odd it is that the author lost a particularly important Polaroid photo described in the book. I don’t know what happened there, but I find that bizarre.
