Absolutely brilliant.
This is my first vampire romance and although this will never be my favourite genre, I really loved this book.
Cronin is decidedly swoon-worthy, and the dichotomy between the super strong, powerful vampire and the shy, yet so passionate man is simultaneously attractive and endearing.
But the Oscar for the best character has to go to Alec. HIs sassy, snarky side, his inquisitive intelligence and dry humour, his willingness to believe and accept the weird, the way he takes action when it is needed are all part of an ultimately appealing and heart warming package.
What I adored most in this book is the fantastic banter and the tongue-in-cheek look at the 'lifestyle' of vampires. However, it did bother me on a very personal level that all the vampires' "dinner dates" inevitably end with the death of a human (however horrible they may have been).
But as the general tone of the book is light, I am quite happy to let this point go.
I also really appreciated how the issue "yes, we are fated, but I didn't choose you" was dealt with, and the care both men put into the development of their relationship. As intense and strong their emotions are, neither goes for the inevitable straight away.
All this, together with an action packed plot which holds quite a few surprises, makes for an excellent, highly entertaining read.
Highly recommended.

LOL. That's what they call it. It does get bloody, too. That's the one aspect I can't get my mind round. LOL.
Not my scene. But this is what vampires do. And this is a vampires book, so I had to bear it and grin!
THank you, Dani. And LOL. The tbr is a force in itself.
