What do you like best about Chatwoot?
At first Chatwoot seemed like the best solution on the market (after thorough market research) and the 2nd solution is Intercom.
The pricing is superior and there are no nonsense hidden fees.
I also liked the open-source model since our use case requires high customization, and overall, the features is a good match for us and get the job done without too much complicated unnecessary features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What do you dislike about Chatwoot?
It doesn't seem production ready. We stumbled upon bugs and it feels like the Chatwoot execution is just not as reliable enough for us, we are in the business of providing critical services and we can't allow for such "bugs". Overall, our confident of the Chatwoot execution is of a weak execution.
We still like the features and the open source model but for the meantime switch to another solution and keep an eye for the next 1 year to see if things change.
Some bugs we stumbled upon:
1) The Chatwoot portal disconnects. It means we have to keep opening it up every 15 minutes or so, so it stays connected. In the meantime, if we receive a message we won't be notified. The support says it is a known issue but to us, it seems that they are too much time in the market to allow for such a critical bug and it has been for more than 2 months already. We can't allow it.
2) The mobile phone logs off as well, similar to issue 1).
3) We receive duplicate notifications (instead of one notification we receive 2).
4) I really don't like the CEO answers low-level messages on the portal. Focus on the product instead, I think you should delegate.
5) Bugs when setting up the Chatwoot to integrate with Softr. The script to generate the "Expanded chat" doesn't generate the expanded chat. There is one window that generate the code correctly and another one that doesn't generate it correctly. If you are not aware of it, you will find it confusing why your chat is not in an "expanded" chat state.
Overall, the above just killed our confident to rely on Chatwoot as a critical service provider. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
