Cactus boxes are large crate-like cacti similar to ball cactuses that appear in the Sunbaked Desert. Like crates, cactus boxes sit on the ground or atop Semisolid Platforms and are affected by gravity. Despite being cacti, they can be stood on and pushed against without harming the player. They are destroyed when struck by a physical attack, such as a Ground Pound, jumping into them from below, or a swing from Elephant Mario's trunk. When broken, they release lots of water (which can be absorbed by wilted flowers and Elephant Mario's trunk), and may additionally release items, coins, or a Talking Flower. Some are in stacks; destroying a cactus box below causes the ones above to fall down.
