"Star Catch Fanfare"[1][2] is a short musical fanfare composed by Koji Kondo for Super Mario 64, where it plays after collecting a Power Star during the results screen after Mario jumps out of the painting and takes off his cap. The fanfare also plays after finishing a Bowser course, excluding Bowser in the Sky.

Super Mario series[edit]
Super Mario 64 / Super Mario 64 DS[edit]
Super Mario 64 marks the first appearance of "Star Catch Fanfare", and it returns for the same purpose in the Nintendo DS remake, Super Mario 64 DS, and the Nintendo Switch port in Super Mario 3D All-Stars. It is also included in the official Super Mario 64 Original Soundtrack album. In Super Mario 64 DS, The track also plays when the player gets a new record or high score in a minigame.
New Super Mario Bros.[edit]
"Star Catch Fanfare" returns in New Super Mario Bros., for the same purpose as in Super Mario 64 DS, namely when achieving a high score in a minigame.
New Super Mario Bros. Wii[edit]
A new arrangement of "Star Catch Fanfare" returns in New Super Mario Bros. Wii, where it plays after winning at least one power-up or 1-Up Mushroom in a Toad House minigame.
New Super Mario Bros. U / New Super Luigi U / New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe[edit]
In New Super Mario Bros. U, New Super Luigi U, their bundle, and its rerelease, the New Super Mario Bros. Wii arrangement of "Star Catch Fanfare" returns for the same purpose as before; if the player wins a Toad House minigame, the fanfare plays.
Hello Mario! / Hello, Yoshi![edit]
In Hello, Mario! and Hello, Yoshi! a new arrangement of "Star Catch Fanfare" plays when the player uses Mario or Yoshi to pop 100 bubbles in the bubble-popping mode of each game, resulting in an extra big bubble appearing. Once popped, the jingle plays while a message reading "Pop-Tastic!" appears on screen.
