     Dear Colleague:
It is my pleasure to have the opportunity to write this letter of recommendation in support of
Aubrey Manmiller’s application for the position of School Counselor in your School District. I
have known Aubrey for the past three years. Aubrey will graduate in May 2021 from Kutztown
University having completed her Master of Science in Professional School Counseling with
PreK-12 Certification. During her graduate program, I served as Aubrey’s faculty supervisor for
her 600-hour Supervised Counseling Internship. I supervised Aubrey in her role of the Graduate
Assistant for the Counselor Education Department. In addition, Aubrey has worked for me as a
Research Assistant and we are working toward publishing a chapter on best practice for providing
services to school students in a virtual setting. Aubrey is an outstanding student and a pleasure
to work with. Having supervised many graduate students, I can say with confidence that Aubrey
is exceptional and in the top 1% of students I have supervised. Based on my supervision of her
field work and other academic interactions with Aubrey over the past three academic years, I am
able to provide her with the strongest recommendation as an outstanding candidate for
     employment as a school counselor.
Aubrey is an experienced educator, child care provider and camp counselor. Building on these
experiences, Aubrey has brought this knowledge and experience into her work in the school. She
has developed self-fulfillment workshop for children in foster care which focused on developing
real life skills and coping strategies. She has brought her experience using technology to her
internship site during the complex challenges of the pandemic. Aubrey developed multiple
strategies for engaging students during this time and increased student engagement and
achievement. For example, Aubrey utilized CANVA to create informative brochures and posters
for school events to engage students and other stakeholders.
Aubrey is a highly motivated and innovative individual. She is a responsible, ethical and insightful
professional with exceptional clinical skills. Her approach to educating the whole child is goal-
oriented while asking the essential questions of: what is best for the child and how can the child
best be served? This approach is evidenced by Aubrey’s work with children, teachers,
administrators and other counselors in developing and implementing strategies and interventions.
Aubrey attended student support meetings in order to collaborate with the teachers and functions
as an essential member of this team.
Aubrey has built on her years of experience working with children and adolescents through
education and her work as an intern at Fulton Elementary School in the Ephrata Area School
District. She has worked on complex cases requiring a great deal of analysis – and has risen to the
challenge each time. Her work with students demonstrated her sensitivity to the delicate balance
of helping a student deal with their life challenges while helping them succeed academically.
Aubrey’s skills as a counselor and educator are of the highest quality. This statement is made not
